I finally managed to fix this vintage soviet TV set - Yunost R603 (Юность Р603) from 1981. I replaced some faulty paper capacitors that changed their capacitance very significantly. I tried to replace the germanium horizontal output transistor using a modern one, but it didn't work, so I used a new old stock one. Then I explain how does the horizontal synchronization and the horizontal output circuitry work, including the S-correction capacitor and the linearity coil with permanent magnets. I generate a test television signal and modulate it using a simple 1-transistor modulator. I show some oscilloscope waveforms.
