The problem is, that Israel is rich and powerful. Palestine is poor and isn't supported by others, and by being kept poor, dependent and poorly fed and educated, the playing field is not level. In the face of all this, they are resilient and refuse to go away.

This is a nice sermon preached to the choir. The introduction says this rally, "Was attended by thousands of Israelis and Palestinians, calling for a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and peace." I am sure, there were many Israelis and some Israeli Arabs. I am also sure, there were no Arabs from Gaza or West Bank. Professor Harari says, "Unfortunately, too many of us refuse to recognize the oh-so-simple fact that there is a Jewish people and a Palestinian people here, both of whom have a deep historical and spiritual connection to the land and the right to exist on it, ..." Israel does not deny Palestinian Arabs the right to exit and call themselves 'Palestinians', even though the very term 'Palestinians' was coined by the Soviet KGB, but Islamists, Arab nationalists, Iranian mullahs, and their puppets Hamas, etc. cannot tolerate the existence of the sliver of land where the Jews walk tall, do not care about Pact of Umar, and don't even deign to hate Arabs within their state. There is only one way to achieve peace with an enemy like that: victory in war. Ironically, kibbutzim, attacked on Oktober 7, were populated largely by people of the same kind that gathered in this rally.

We have 17.000.000 islands, more than 700 ethnic, speaking more than 700 lunggages, practice more than 6 religions but we are united in our difference. If there were more like Yuval in the world, there were no wars. This is the spirituality we all should strive to. The question is only how to transform it into action? And we cannot do it unilaterally! (We already tried couple of times and know how it ends …). I hope one day there will be enough people on the other side, who will think this way. Only then real peace could come.

Umm al-Rashrash is a Palestinian land that was under Jordanian administration. Before the Jordanian administration, it was under Ottoman sovereignty and joined the southern Levant. Then Israel took it from Jordan in the 1948 war, after which Jordan abandoned the administration of Umm al-Rashrash and the West Bank in the Wadi Araba Agreement of 1994.

Over 10 years ago, I took your history course (The Brief History of Humankind) on-line (I was one of the first student group there, because I remember so eagerly waiting for the arrival of the English version of the Sapiens book) and ever since my husband and I have been a big fan and have read all your books to date. What is interesting is that Yuval Noah Harari, the great critic of religions, does not critic Islam. We should ask him why he does not condemn this specific religion but mainly criticizes Jews.Is it because Jews allow criticism of themselves while Muslims does not?

An impeccable logic (through the eyes of a westerner). Once you enter religion into the equation, and the thought that well being is not as important as worship and the "eternal afterlife", to the point of willingly sacrificing your life and the lives of your loved ones "in the name of God", this western way of thinking, and western ideals start to break down, and you can maybe realize that the story is larger than just the difference of opinions between two neighbors, but a clash of civilizations and proxy to world super powers on an endless race for being the leader of the world order. You speak like a lamb surrounded by wolves, attempting to convince the wolves that the grass is super delicious, and they should leave the meat diet behind.

But he seems to obscure things a little -- I mean, I see lots of Arab men and women (many of them fully clothed in long, black garments) shopping and walking the streets of Beersheva and Tel Aviv -- but how many Jews were shopping and walking around Gaza before Oct. 7? Maybe we should first start with that -- each side accepting the other.

I read his books, and I don't recall seeing even one paragraph of criticism about Islam in any of his three books. But he made sure to criticize Jews quite significantly in the books. By the way, his book in Arabic is no longer for sale in one of the biggest chains in Israel, so it's hard to get. And there are many Israeli Arabs.

After so much anger and frustration for my sense of ineptitude and impotence in seeing so much grief, a grif that can travel thousands of kilometers away and hit the soul of even those who have only seen or known about it, I was finally able to let the tears flow, in the comfort of at least a hope. The hope in Humanity that God created with Love and that I know still exists and that takes concrete form in the invitations to PEACE... because Peace is Reality... while war is madness, it is paranoia, it is the renunciation of bearing fruit during our brief and precious opportunity of passage. Yuval, can I share an amazing story with you? One day I was driving home, when all of a sudden the Lord came to me in spirit. I felt very close to Him. I knew if I asked him to play any song on the radio he would, I guess to bless my faith. So I said "ok, Lord play "Come as you are by Nirvana". I turned on the radio and the song started playing right there on the spot, perfectly… I started getting flooded with chills like a waterfall, crying, and trembling. He stayed with me for 10 minutes in my driveway. until I got outta the car. A couple months after that I started getting amazing prayers answered way more often, because it helped me quit doubting when I pray and I was lined up with biblical instructions. It's 6 years later and I still get answered prayers in Jesus name.

The Middle East conflict is a complex, complicated, multidimensional, multi-aspect cultural-historical-religious, existential conflict between Israel and radical Islam. This is not a dispute over one or another chunk of territory. That is, it is not a territorial dispute. No territorial concessions will bring us even a millimeter closer to true peace. The Arab-Israeli conflict is only part of this conflict. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is part of the Arab-Israeli conflict. If Mr. Harari does not understand such simple things, does not understand that this is not a territorial dispute, then it says a lot about what kind of "great expert" he is. Even if somehow "peace" is achieved with Palestinian Arabs, though this is impossible, even then Iran and radical Islam will not give up.

The problem is the Palestinian Intellectuals never think the way Harari thinks. That is the essential difference between the Israeli mindset and Arabian mindset.

Such a pick-me Israeli - Israel would have done peace a million times if it could. we don't have any partner for this. I never saw a peace rally at the Palestinian territory. how can you make peace with jihad terrorists?
