Red Bull Music Academy Los Angeles kicked off their "Diggin' in the Carts" World Tour, with the first performance at The Regent Theater in Los Angeles. Headliner performers include Yuzo Koshiro (古代祐三) and Motohiro Kawashima (川島基宏), both masters of the Sega MegaDrive FM synthesis IC, the Yamaha YM2612, and created some of the most memorable music in the 16-Bit console era.
Visuals by Konx-Om-Pax (Tom Scholefield).
Epilepsy Warning: intense strobe light effects used throughout the show.
The video states October 23, which is a typo. The event took place on October 22.

Yeah I was there ! An amazing night, when they came back to play the Shinobi theme I died xD Man, everything was perfect. The set of Kode9 before was also reaaaally cool. The man is also a legend. Anyway, loved this night :)

Looking back I am very pleased with the amount of SoR3 tracks they played. Since I believe I am the only person to attend both Yuzo's MAGfest concert and this one, I think I will have to do a video blog on this experience ASAP.

Ugh I'm in OC and am just finding out about this :,( I remember playing SoR as a teen thinking how hard that Techno was.. Still holds up well, especially to current BassHouse that take from 90's style Techno.

Haha that was you? When I heard someone shouting "ALIEN POWER!!!" I thought "that guy really knew his Streets of Rage 2 track titles" 👍 3:11 is one of my favorite moments of the show: they seamlessly mixed the opening theme into the character select theme. Other favorites include: 18:37 - Never Return Alive 27:58 - Spin on the Bridge Also a fellow concert-goer started to imitate the character vocal samples (Blaze's screams, etc). Good time.

SOR made in versus mode will be a "dream" all bosses as character and main (Axel etc.) Using Hokuto no Ken engine (made by sega for ps2 too)

this is one of the reasons to this day, i can't stand behind Sega. Look this magic these guys created here and in the games. why wouldn't you want to make a sequel for the fans so they can experience another great soundtrack and another Streets of Rage. It's been long overdue. just don't understand. sitting on these great IPs, especially Streets of Rage. you can play those games over and over again but they totally ignored them for Sonic and Yakuza. Such shame. Anyway great vid by the way

+Ashura96 This video captures the half hour essence of Mr. koshiro and Kawashima's set. The full set is an hour long for each performer group. Door opened at 7 and the event ran all the way past midnight: my arms held up but the camera battery didn't 😉 Thank you for coming. Did you enjoy the show?

I’m sorry. But I had give this a “dislike”. I love Yuzo Koshiro’s music. But watching him and another guy kinda bob their heads up and down while pressing “play” on a MacBook does not qualify as a live performance.
