Yuzuru just won the Grand Prix Final breaking both the world record for both short and long programs. Yuzuru at his best IS the best figure skater in the history of the sport, the best combination of athleticism and artistry this sport has ever seen.
he is YUZURU HANYU, not the male version of anyone, not the other version of anyone. HE IS HIM. Hope we can respect him, by not comparing him, and by admiring him as himself :)
asri rmu haven't seen him compared to anyone so why are you ranting? The only type of comparison I would suggest is that like Kim Yuna he brings an incredible presence and sure with him
I was a champion skater in the Dick Button era -- Ive followed the sport all my days. I have seen (and recorded) every major event and loved it all. BUT THIS -- was the most fantastic of them all. This program perfectly performed topped them all. I was thankful to just have had the privilege of seeing it! thank you, Yuzuru, for your hard work to bring a perfect program to all of us to enjoy it and marvel in your talent and skill. Now we have all seen what a perfect top skilled and scored program looks like. You are Marvelous!
k.takahashi sorry for suddenly jumping to comment, but i'd like to quote what Yuzuru said in GPF Barcelona 2015 interview with Sara Hurtado : "score is score, performance is perfomance". So, basically, by Yuzuru's standard, the scores are different category on how they moved people's hearts. Just my 2 cents.
Daylynne Starr ++ And hasn't he got the nicest smile around!? (I remember Robin Cousins, from my days of ice skating enjoyment ) That's it, I'll be following this sport again.
"It may not be an Olympic moment" what a commentary in hindsight because 2.5 years later, it became one of the greatest Olympic moments in history when he won his second consecutive Olympic gold with this program 😄👑🐐
Cadence Ying Rui Goh LOL he's so adorable! and i remember him being asked about it somewhere and IIRC he said what he wanted to point out to Brian is that he's not a boy so he wanted to change the word "boy" to "man" but Brian misunderstood and changed the word "good" to "amazing".. i forgot where i've seen this, anyone who knows kindly remind me or post a link or smth.. thanks!
I don't understand how anyone can hit the dislike button. He did a perfect performance with unheard of difficulty and ease. I guess there are JEALOUS ppl who don't like him. IMO, he has all the artistry and difficulty and he is untouchable if he hits. I think this is the greatest skate of all time.
lisa2480 Why would S. Korea dislike the Japanese? And right now S. Korea don't even have a skater who can challenge Hanyu. The only skaters who have a remote chance of beating Hanyu are from Canada and Spain.
+Vette gaddia Yuzuru just won the World Grand Prix breaking both his short and long program world records, destroying his competition by more than 30 points(330.11!!!). Yuzuru at his best IS the best figure skater in the history of the sport.
Thang Vuong Yes! And I almost fainted when I saw his skating. He is without a doubt the greatest skater of all time. He just skated two competition that no one will ever top unless it is himself...bravisimmo!
Tarasova, the most famous Russian trainer, called him Cyborg cause Yuzu is so unbelievably, inhumanly talented and he makes impossible things come true. I just so miss him that i’m watching all his old videos 😆
the fastest scating figure in the whole world who else but him, yes he is Yuzuru Hanyu from Japan, who is famous all over the world, no stranger to his name, he is famous everywhere, everything about Yuzuru is the most beautiful, the best, Yuzuru is now a professional, keep on working on us will always be with you, yuzuru our love forever❤❤❤
Yuzuru will go down in history more than a footnote. His ability to find the perfect balance between artistry and technique make him one of the greatest ever. His departure from the competitive arena will surely be missed, but the memories will last forever by those who love this sport. Yuzuru, continue to dream big, be grateful, and enjoy moments on the ice often.
@@ryanm4769 Yuna Kim can't compare with Yuzuru, she even isn't the best one in women's single skating😅 Katarina Witt is the greatest woman single skater.
@@fnb8171 They belong to different era, you can't simply compare their technique. Katarina Witt and Sonia Henie's achievements are much greater than Yuna Kim. And Yuzuru Hanyu is the one and only GOAT of figure skating that hitherto recognized by IOC and ISU.
These commentators always talk too much but when Yuzuru finished his program, they were in silence for a moment.... Maybe they didn't know what to say after watching this amazing performance of the great Yuzuru Hanyu :)
Not a big fan of figure skating, but this one gave me goosebumps. Forgot about the scores and results, purely enjoyed the performance. An absolute masterpiece.
Yuzuru Hanyu's ⛸ is like a 🦄, magical, mystical, marvelous. I so love watching him on the ice, he falls in line with those very extremely rare talents, like Bruce Lee, Eminem, for me there are no words to describe how Yuzuru Hanyu make me feel when I'm watching him skate, his love for the ice is so noticeable, his strength, courage, beauty, he truly is the greatest of all. I'm 50+ ,,, I've never seen anyone like him and I've been following ice skating since i was a kid.... 💜💜💜💜💜💯💯
This is the best figure skating performance of all time, for men, women, pairs, ice dance. The extremely difficult technical elements, transitions, choreo and artistry is a masterpiece.
after so many years of being his fan, this is still my favorite performance of his. he's so deeply in tune with the music, not as focused on the pressure of competition. he's performing for himself and for his people, and his power and passion shines through, especially when the beat drops at 4:40. love this so much!
@@endingending922 Best moment is when he hears his own breath starting the music and he inhales with it. It's *MAGICAL* . Truly. After watching the documentary about making SEIMEI I'm truly stunned. The effort he put into it, I wonder if any other skater has ever done that. Yuzuru is *one of a kind* .
Totalmente de acuerdo contigo, inicia mi momento favorito de esta competencia, aquí el deja su alma al 1000 al público, comparte el talento sin reservas que le ha sido concedido y eso difícilmente alguien lo podrá superar.
@@lulaulaf7111 on YT I could only found this short version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-euF_FKYht2A.html But try looking on bilibili and dailymotion and vimeo and you will find it, I'm sure. "Making of Seimei" I don't remember anymore where did I watch it. :(
My fav Yuzu has been making history...the first to hurdle the 100 mark in Short Program, the first to record the 200 FS barrier, the first to spring up a total score of 300 ,,,WOW!! Has anybody made that record? I lovee Yuzuru Hanyu, the Simple, Adorable and Humble Skater and the Greatest of All Time....
everyone not only remembers yuzu is the best. but never forget this spacial program SEIMEI and the view of world yuzu wants to present. This is the bigeast different from others, This program could be directly use d as a show program
For what Yuzuru Hanyu has contributed to figure skating so far, he is the ONLY figure skater deserved to be the Olympic Champion of 2014 and 2018. Thank you Yuzuru Hanyu! Good Luck! Love you!
ahaha well that's all up to him. the thing with being on top is other talented skaters will come out from the woodwork to rise to the challenge of surpassing you. in scores and victories if not in overall skating prowess, because those are fickle. so if he doesn't bring his a-game to the biggest stages, well, i guess there's always this competition and gpf2015 to look back on. xD
there's not words to describe how amazing this performance was, the best ever. is incredible to see how much technical skating has become but regardless this guy's a jewel.
"There's no one in the world as good as Yuzuru Hanyu right now." Yasssss for sure no one! Happy I am alive to at a time he is alive and kicking in this sport!
+razilia1516 For the first time in history, because of Hanyu's greatness, men's skating is more popular than women's. Everyone is talking about the men's greatest skater, and not as impressed by the so call best female skaters. Besides Hanyu, there's also Uno, Javi, Ju, Chan and the newest sensation from the US, Nathan Chen!
+Vette gaddia I think part of it is because, aside from Mao (who is unfortunately struggling), there are no great champions competing, no seasoned veterans like Yuzuru, Javier or Patrick who have been on the senior circuit for several years. Evgenia is being crazy consistent this season, but I think people are being more skeptical because one-season Russian wonders have been the trend for the recent years. The lack of a skater who can achieve big titles season after season in the ladies makes it harder to root for them. You see them one season, and the next you don't. I hope Evgenia breaks the trend, but we won't know until next season.
I was watching that thinking, "dude their's no way you can put a score to that". Seems like the judges agreed, and just gave him however much they physically could XD
he's not really aiming to be the first tho. in fact, he's all set for someone else to do it first. what he wants is to be able to do it at all first up and then nicely after that, likely with all his usual bells and whistles. when he nails it the way he wants to, then and only then will we see it in competition. so if a handful of people are able to do it by the time he manages it, he'd just be glad to be one of them, and gladder that he's the only one to be able to pull it off with high quality. so it's up in the air whether or not we'll ever see it from him. in competition, i mean.
Да! Ханю - единственный и неповторимый! Люблю, обожаю, восхищаюсь! Нет и не будет такого красавца, который вобрал в себе все лучшие качества как человека, спортсмена и артиста!
Yuzuru is absolutely brilliant on ice. There are literally no words I can use to describe him. I've watched this performance at least 5 times but I somehow find myself coming back over and over to watch it again. I can't wait to see his performance live at Worlds!
NHK has beautiful camera's angles. It mesmerizes all of his moves. I love it especially when 2:24 2:45 4:40 6:43 XDDD His reaction to the score is super adorable!!! 6:56 Brian: "I have no words. I have no words. Good boy!" Yuzuru: "Just good boy?" (LOL) Brian (burst out laughing): "Amazing!!" Yuzuru: "Amazing boy!" (Yes you are!!)
I watched Seimei first at 2018 Pyeongchang, I was only recently discovered Hanyu during Quarantine and Seimei was my introductory to him. Didn't know he had one in 2015 and 2019
So small yet so grandiose, so soft yet so powerful, so demure yet so effective, so technical yet so lyrical. Great choice of music and for once the "added gloves" doesn't bother me! Always loved the japaneses for their edge flow and knee spring (Yuka Sato the best). What's not to like? Oh and as a Canadian proud of Brian Orser's work with his skaters!
"We won't see anything like this anytime soon"...beats the record in a month's time. Yet the path to the new breakthrough was one of struggles and resilience. The perfection of this dance is only in combination with the stories behind of it. Including how the program evolved through Hanyu's conversation with Kyogen master Nomura Mansai...how he cut and stitched the music himself...how he devoted to understanding every single move. It is flawless but only for a reason. And that's what makes Yuzuru Hanyu great.
