@@p_roduct9211i won’t take specific names but a lot of k companies try to put up the narrative of exploiting queer fashion or queer sexuality when their idols in fact are perfectly cis gendered straight people. Jimin from BTS has expressed that multiple times saying “no fan service” while loving his members for example. You can also see that in a lot of RV videos like with seulgi and rene (even tho they are the best sapphic couple).
what some don't get is that a lot of it isn't planned queerbaiting, but female friendships in asian countries can get very close and be very touchy. it doesn't really mean anything to them. some idols definitely do a little fanservice likt that but a lot of clips are just not considering cultural context.
I'm genuinely so tired of people trying to justify it and being like "well it COULD just be fanservice, she COULD just be an ally" like no when certain idols feed it to you on a platter like that all the time just give up they're gay move on
people really don’t think about how invalidating that is. like you have idols doing all they can to signal being queer without directly coming out and then there are ppl saying to stop assuming or accusing them of “queerbaiting”, a thing that real people cannot do!! it’s like they forget queer signaling/flagging is still a thing. a non queer person does not just plaster lgbt stickers on their personal belongings 😭

I love this concept of just living as “out” without ever saying it, no pressure on yourself to hide and you’re not just handing it to homophobes. “Coming out” catalyzes a hate brigade and makes headlines but just existing is only really noticeable to those who already pay attention to you
Fr, also wish this was the default bc imo it helps normalise it. I never officially come out to anyone but just casually talk about ex gfs/girls I like, and if anyone reacts with "you like girls??" I just frown and respond something like "em, yes?" to make them feel silly for having another default in their heads. I've also always been careful to give that same energy to other lgbt people, this is the way forward imo

tbh i don't want her to come out in korea bc im scared for her, korea is such a misogynistic and scary country for women. gay men i could see being kinda ok but women get judged and harassed for the slightest things. but i think this is her way of coming out and only her fans will notice or understand. she's an inspiration to us especially to korean lgbt who can't come out as well ❤ i hope one day korea gets progressive enough to accept lgbt people but for now it's still far too conservative and dangerous it might seem ok from the outside but it's still so dangerous
