@@shatrod6000Trouba would be the equivalent of when we brought in Chiarot. We shouldn’t be looking at another stop gap 2nd pairing defenseman when we could try to add a piece that could be a positive contributor for 5+ years. I would look hard at Montour or at worst, someone like Pesce who’s 29 but still very solid defensively. Matt Roy would be another very good signing as he’s a very good physical defensive defenseman.

We don't need Gibson long-term if Cossa will be the guy in two seasons. Why not lock-up a great D long-term instead and ride out Lyon?

@@andrewborody guessing Gibson Lyon tandem for a year and then go with a Gibson/Cossa tandem for two years ... I keep hearing jarry’s name out there and I think he has 5 yrs left on his deal + injury prone. Rather do Gibson if the price isn’t crazy. Not many options out there for goalies

​@@socialmediag5485 Jarry doesn't seem like the move to make right now as he has FOUR more years on his contract. To be honest, I'd rather ride out Husso and Lyon for one more season, while giving Cossa a small handful of games. Then after this year, we get the 4.75 million back from Husso's contract, sign a decent 1b (maybe keep Lyon) and let Cossa and him battle it out for a bit, or happily split games.

@@andrewborody zero interest in jarry ... Yzerman won’t bank everything on husso staying injury free. He gets hurt, then what? Season will be over. Cossa isn’t ready he needs to stay down the season

Trouba has fallen off a cliff the, wings need to stay away from that contact with a 10 foot pole

@@derekhand7904 I think he's a solid dman and he isn't afraid to hurt someone. Wings need that. Mo, Simon, Montour, Trouba. I really like this top 4. We won't have to take on his entire salary either. They would retain.

​@@Treez13 unfortunately the NYR would likely refuse to retain any salary. They are trying to win and need the cap space. I dont think trouba is likely.
