Fun fact, visiting there in May 2012 we paid 16CHF for a flat white (had to explain what that was!) and a long black, and thought... OK. My wife then wanted a wine at wine o'clock. We sat at a bar outside on the Bahnhofstrasse, looking at the river. 2 glasses of shiraz and "complimentary" smoked salmon on a nice crisp bread, plus a bowl of warm smoked almonds came to.....drum roll...12 CHF in total! Wine was cheaper than coffee and came with food. Love this place! Can't wait to leave OZ and get back there.
@@finemusic1448 As of mid April 2021, most places are closed. Shops are open, but only if you wear a mask. Restaurants are closed for dine in, but some places offer take away which is allowed.
How come there's almost no one on the street? The expensive goods sold on this street might be an eye-catcher, but it hides the fact, that there is a large amount of poverty in Switzerland, there are many poor people who are homeless, and single parents who do not know how to survive with their little salary until the end of every month, richness has a prize the poor one's are paying for.
