I just caught a 45 pound blue cat off one of these in a private lake I didn’t even know had blue cat in it. I’m assuming someone just threw a few in there they caught from somewhere else. I thought when it first hit I had a record bass until about a few minutes into the fight I noticed it never wanted to come up to the surface to jump like a bass. Then I thought I might have hooked one of the huge grass carp that are in the lake. Still a fun catch but I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t a bass.
Don’t get me wrong I like the Evo and I love the price but to me the Jackhammer is still king. I’ve heard that the patent for the Jackhammer is about to run out and that’s why Zman started making the Evo. I hope we’ll still be able to get a Jackhammer as well though!
I literally have bought as many as I could possibly buy because of this scenario. If the jackhammer gets discontinued, that lure may well be worth double or triple the money used. If not, at least you have PILES of jackhammers. Seems like a win win.
@@notillegal6771 i found this small bait and tackle shop in Rock Hill SC that sells a decent amount of Japanese tackle. I picked up some of those weird Japan jackhammer colors and megabass 110s that you can basically only get from the hook up tackle. The place is called rusty hooks. I agree I doubt they’ll discontinue the jackhammer. Thing is too much of a fish catching machine.
@@A1K3NFISHINGif anything there will be more jackhammer copy cats now that they can use the blade attachment that was previously unavailable. you can always buy them from japan for way cheaper anyway. It's an evergreen bait after all.
I have bought a few jackhammers. Not once ever caught a fish on one and Ive tried and tried to the point where I just stopped using bladed jigs all together. When these came out I bought black and blue and electric shad along with the matching chatterspike. I have been nailing fish left and right the last two months or so. I couldn't tell you what the difference is other than the paint on these looking better but they work wonders where the jackhammer couldn't sniff a bite. Obviously this is an outlier since people swear by the jackhammer but for me? EVO all day every day.
Ive spent money on the jackhammer and never cought a fish on em. I decided to get the evo paired with the chatter spike and forced my self to only rig that up . I tossed it for hours and finally got comfortable with it now i can get those fish that i felt i didnt have luck on. I do think the evo is far better than the jackhammer for sure and looks better too. By the way i got the fire craw on both the evo and chatter spike.
I feel like with a magnet internal to the jig head could make the blade barely stick to one side and ACTUALLY hunt or kick to the left or right...just dont have time to tinker anymore
would've be really great if you guys would've make the evo in a stealth version as well seeing that you're revamping the jackhammer. I guess that's to much like right as they say 😊. throw that at the boss next time ya at the production table..
Ive never had any chatterbait hunt. Even when he says it. You can clearly see the line popping. Still. Definitely looking forward to loading some up for the price
We produced this video for Z-Man to support their ICAST launch in July, so you may have saw the video published on their channels. We're publishing now because the bait is available at retail for those interested in purchasing. We (Wired2fish) prefer posting content and covering products available in the marketplace.
