Part 1: • Zab Judah on Being Und...
In this clip, Zab Judah detailed his epic bout against Floyd Mayweather which ended in a typical Mayweather decision but the lead-up to that decision remains one of boxing's more captivating events of the last 20 years. Zab talked about how early on the fight he gave Floyd his first ever knockdown, however, it wasn't ruled as such.
He then said that the low blow he hit Floyd with later in the fight which sparked the infamous melee was unintentional. Zab still feels he was robbed on multiple fronts that night and lays out each instance.

There have been multiple fights where the judges could score first couple rounds to Mayweather's opponent. It was not unusual, it's called feeling out. It's not the amateurs, these are 12 round prize fights not 4 or 6. Winning first 2 or even 3 rounds is meaningless. The championship rounds are more important in the grand scheme of things and Mayweather was always in position during those times.
@jayo8484
@jayo8484 4 года назад

@chrisnyasia7
@chrisnyasia7 4 года назад
"Dropped" is a bit of an overstatement... Knocked him off balance is more accurate... Wasn't dazed, wasn't dizzy, wasn't hurt... Just smacked off balance is all.. Stuck his hand out to right himself--- no damage done... His glove touched the ground and It absolutely should of been called a knock down to warrant a 10-8 round... But dropped is too strong a term... Wanna see floyd handle being dazed, dizzy and hurt? See the 2nd round of the Mosely fight--- It's the very definition of survival instincts...
@FatherofFFD
@FatherofFFD 4 года назад
You have to remember, back then, Judah had that thug mentality. He was talented with a short fuse & over the top street mentality. To be blunt, he was an A$$hole. However, to his credit, who grew out of it. Fatherhood changed him, reestablishing his faith in God, changing trainers, all the steps he took to redeem himself into the very noble man that he is today. As a one-time critic of Zab, I'm proud of the example of change that represents today. Very proud! I have nothing but respect for the man!
@perrygibson8419

@@perrygibson8419 "he definitely dropped floyd" lol GTFOH with that lame nonsense. The extremely weak punch he hit floyd wouldn't have knocked him down. He was very off balance it wasn't from that punch smh.
@chrisnyasia7
@chrisnyasia7 4 года назад
And remember, in that Mosely fight, Shane was just coming off a spectacular mid-fight KO of margarito--- a testament to the saying that the power is always the last to leave an aging fighter... Shane nailed floyd twice in that famous second round; starting with a nasty one-two combo; the second of the two punches a straight right that landed flush on Floyd's jaw... then, twenty seconds later, he unleashed a full on, patented sugar shane Mosely right hook--- right to floyd's temple... and What followed was nothing short of super human... NO ONE survives that second right hook, especially not in the diminished state floyd was in after having survived that straight right hand 20 seconds earlier... Seeing floyd withstand those punches is easily my favorite moment watching boxing... Floyd is the perfect blend of both "survival instinct" and "killer instinct"; an equal parts balance of sublime skill set, fight IQ, otherworldly reflexes and a maniacal approach towards conditioning... lest we not forget an iron chin--- It's no wonder he is... ...Undefeated

Zab dropped Floyd in the 2nd round and outboxed Floyd the first 5 rounds. won those first 5 rounds by a land slide. Floyd knew he couldn't go toe to toe with a young Zab. Zab was too fast and had a powerful left hand. Floyd made adjustments after the 5th round, started picking his shots and creating distance and easily won every round after the 5th. Great fight tho. The fact that people are talking about the one time Floyd “slipped” makes his career all the more impressive if you ask me. If his hands were stronger he would have stopped more opponent by tko.

Anybody who followed Floyd and Zab early in their careers know that Floyd and Zab was close friends and use to hang out together a lot. They had a falling out because Floyd went around bragging that he beat Zab in sparring. And Floyd vs Zab was a closer fight then the score cards indicate because Zab should have been credited for that knock down. That knock down help make that fight close but still a Floyd win.

All the good work you did in the fight gets negated by the fact that you punched him in the nuts and followed it up with a punch to the back of the head. These new boxing fans and kids might have forgotten about that though.
