Zaban-i-Ghayr: Islam and the Work of the Humanities - An inaugural lecture by Asad Q. Ahmed 

Asad Q. Ahmed is the Magistretti Distinguished Professor of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures, and Director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (CMES) at the UC Berkeley.
The lecture is a collaboration between #IBAKarachi and CMES-Berkeley in which Professor Ahmed will reflect on the work of the humanities in academia, and how certain indigenous discursive elements were subverted to serve modernity, creating a persistent conceptual contradiction in post-colonial cultures.
