The audio sounds a freaking mazing if only those people would shut the hell up and listen to this damn song honoring our fallen men and women of the armed forces god bless our troops we are forever grateful for you all!!!!!
A. This song was originally composed by Jason Isbell while he was in the Drive By Truckers (it is on his first solo album). B. It kinda takes the punch outta the song when he changes the lyrics from "What did they say when they shipped you away / to fight somebody's Hollywood war" to "somebody's god awful war" Complete cop out. Neil Young called this the greatest protest song of our generation and I'm inclined to agree. Jason is amazing as is DBT. Zac Brown sold out from doing funny songs like 'Big Fat Bitch' to doing corny corporate county music. Make a buck, no hating here on that, just leave amazing music to amazing musicians. I will now get off my soapbox and cease my bitching.
+Allie Kerr Sometimes what seems like one thing is actually a totally different reason/meaning as to why people do things. Zac Brown gave full credit to Jason Isbell for this song and actually admired his song writing skills - he is actually a fan himself. Zac Brown believed that his song deserved to be heard to a much larger audience and give the opportunity for his fans to listen to some of Jason's work as well ... which it does and is the reason why Jason agreed for him to cover it. To be honest, I'm glad he did. Here's an interview: facebook.com/zacbrownband/videos/10153436899823430/ God Bless!
