Two talented guys that both played the part of Troy! I didn't put Breaking Free or Everyday in it cause that's undecidable to me =P
So, who do you like?
I was bored, so I did scores so far (in my own way from the comments):
Zac: 15
Drew: 10
I have mixed views on it btw. I like drew just cause i like how talented he is at singing. and he blends really well with vanessa. and i like zac cause his voice is soft and... i dont know i just like the sound of his voice =P and he harmonizes good with vanessa too.

@@princessliza8014 They didn't lie, the songs were written before the cast was selected and Zac couldn't hit the notes so Drew singed, that's why in hsm 2 and 3 Zac sings

Zac has a deeper raspy tone and Drew has a soft lighter tone, I always found it weird that in the first movie, Zac's voice shifted from deep to light and back that easily but I just thought maybe it was his vocal range😂. Wow, didn't know much about music back then😂

It's because they already recorded the songs with Drew but when Zac got there it was too late into production to re-do all the songs with Zac

Short answer is puberty cause Zac was a teenager when he was doing the songs for hm1 so they mostly just layered Zac and Drew’s voices but yeah Drew did do most of the songs

The part of Troy Bolton is written for a tenor and Zac is a baritone. At the time of recording the first movie, he was still a teenager and untrained (evident in Start Of Something New and the beginning of Breakin Free) so they blended his voice together with Drew Seely, an actual tenor, who just happens to sound pretty close to Zac's voice.

You know zac sang all the other movies the only one that he dint do was number 1 he did sang but not the high notes because the producer said that his voice was to low but in the others 2 movies he did sang all by himself

Zac fan here but I prefer Drew's voice. Zac has that country voice that I don't like. Drew's is clear and more melodic (if that makes sense). Both still sound very beautiful though! :)

yeah Drew's voice was better but it's most likely cause back then Zac's voice wasnt ads developed and i mean he wasnt very good didnt know how to use it properly (if you know what i mean). I man his voice is better now

Drew has a boy band voice. The voice that makes girls fan girl pretty hard. Zac on the other hand has an alternative raspy voice. That makes girls want him, really really bad lol Or is that just me...? 😜

That was only in the first movie. Zac was going through puberty during the filming of the movie and therefore wasn’t able to sing. The other two was Zac’s singing and he did really well

Well, for me Drew has a colder voice which is great while Zac has more appeal to the people..Maybe this made Troy Bolton popular..the voice and the face together equals excellent.. :)

drew was actually Troy's singing voice for the entire High school music movie. Zac Efron didn't sing in high school music until the second and third movie.

Drew! Zac and drew actually sang together in some songs, they blended in their voices by editing. Drew sang mostly for Zac in 1 , 2 and 3 not just 1.

Drew Seeley should’ve just played Troy Bolton all together. I hate the fact that that they used his vocals, and made so much money off of his voice yet he does not get the recognition that he deserves. The success that Zac got from.HSM should have been Drew‘s

@vincemcmahon3344 success he wouldn’t have had, had they not used Drew’s voice in the first film. A voice that Disney made a ton of money off of. He made his own mark later but Drew’s voice is a part of what made that movie into a major franchise-hit, there wouldn’t have been a HSM 2 or 3 if Drew’s vocals weren’t on it. Zac himself said that he had to take lessons for the second and third movies cause he couldn’t sing very well.

This part of life already happened. HSM 1, 2, and 3 were a huge success with ZAC EFRON in it. Again, ZAC EFRON and not DREW SEELEY. I don't think it would've been the same if it's Drew. First of all, we all came to love HSM because of the great chemistry between Zac and Vanessa. Drew and Vanessa didn't have it... Anyway, I honestly believe that it's Zac's voice. Thank you for my ears, I do hear him. And the last time I had a check-up with my doctor, I can still hear 100% accurate. :D

@MusicManiaBand No. In HSM1, Zac was still finding his voice, therefore they asked Drew to sing for him while Zac lip-synced it. Zac made it pretty believable that it was his voice, because that's what good actors do.. (: Then when HSM2 came out, Zac was able to sing so Drew was not needed at all for the movie and HSM3 as well. In short, all HSM1 songs were Drew Seeley... And all HSM2 and 3 songs were Zac Efron. They're similar voices, but they're also highly distinguishable.

@HannyGirl812 The tone of the music has to match the singer's voice, they made the music according to Seeley's voice (Maybe he was supposed to play Troy, because he wrote Getcha head in the game IDK) when Zac was chosen, the music was already done and it was not his tone, so they had to use Seeley's voice for the high notes

Well...if you listen to him in the 2nd movie they don't sound bad together...Cause if you notice, the beginning parts of those songs were lower than the rest of the song...um he never sang get'cha head in the game... well i don't know which story is right but like i said i heard he was going through puberty so his voice would change while he sang.

Zac did sing in Get'cha head in the game. If you're not sure, compare the movie and a live preformance from drew, for example in ATL. It's different. drew co-wrote the song.

Drew Seeley all the way! I think its really unfair how famous Zac is because of High School Musical and yet Drews a better singer, did some of Zacs singing for him and gets practically no credit!
