You dont see guys on announcement day that often with pretty much the whole team and coach supporting them. Shows how close the boiler family is and Edey was a big part to that successful bond they all have. Continue to work, stay humble, and Kill it at Mephis where we are all now fans of!
I’ve had the privilege of talking with Zach several times. Always gracious and kind: a good role model and a very hard worker. Nice to see the Purdue family support. Impressive culture they have there
As a long time UK fan and alum, I want to congratulate Zach on his 1st round draft selection , his Purdue coaches, and the entire Purdue team for your success! The Purdue mens basketball “machine” has been the class of the NCAA for last few years. Well done, and well deserved.
As a Grizz fan, i hope he keeps that chip on his shoulder. He is joining a hard working group, especially Desmond Bane. And they have a lot of joy for each other. He doesnt need to worry too much about scoring, just boards, passes, screens, and flush some lobs. As a Grizz fan i love the fit, and hope he turns into another headache center for opponents, like Marc Gasol, Valanciunas, Steven Adams. Welcome to Memphis!!
One thing that everyone has missed on is Edey's heritage. His mother is Chinese and if properly marketed by the NBA the Chinese Market will explode for Edey, I believe he also speaks some Mandarin so anticipate a push by the NBA/Memphis into that market. Big $$$$$$ for all.
Look how fit he is!! He is in AMAZING SHAPE Must have switched up his diet as well! He will be a much better pro than expected! He was much more mobile than Clingan at the combine, he is slimmer now!!!! I’m hyped for him
He knows it would benefit him in today's NBA to be fitter and thinner so he can optimize his mobility and quickness. Just proof that if Yao Ming played in today's era, would still be good since great players will adapt.
@@stevelau7694 And if you are extremely good the league will change to stop you! Shaq - 3 second rule Shaq - Hack a shack Shaq - you need to rotate BEFORE HE GETS THE BALL :) I played against Maurice Taylor (Clippers) in a summer run (1998) I’m 6’7 250lbs Maurice was 6’10 275 I had never competed against such a human before! Stood little chance Then I met Shaq at his “Sandwich restaurant” and 7’2 - 330lbs is just DIFFERENT AINT NO WAY
Boiler UPPP! Thanks Zach for an unforgettable run! Go embarrass the haters and kill it at Memphis! This newly minted Grizzlies fan will be rooting for you!
What a great story. I’m a lifetime Texas fan but I love to hear stories of just good guys. Then I’ll follow them and root for him to. I think he is heading for a successful career.
Good luck on the next level. I enjoyed you at Purdue the four years you were here and don’t listen to those doubters. You are a great player. Good luck in the future God bless and Godspeed Zack.Edey
Congrats Zach, your going to do great things in Memphis an to all the haters an doubters, STFU!! Rooting for you man, much love all the way from Melbourne, Australia 🦘. Lets go Grizz Nation!!💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
There will never be another college player, let alone Boilermaker, like him. I hope his success in college translates to the NBA. I was one of the few who commented on his HS youtube workout video saying I liked what I saw back then…his ball screen defense is the only area of concern for me at the next level. He’s just so big to stay with more explosive athletes on the pick & roll.
Zero ego! I love that kid! I love that team! Zach was in the perfect hands with Coach Painter. I love the Purdue culture! It was the perfect place for Zach to develop into the amazing young man and ultra talented player. Go Boilers!
Forget the weight room, he needs to get in the gym shooting 3's & working on his defensive footwork away from the basket! He's got enough natural strength with simple rope exercises and a bit of calisthenics'.
@@jaysonb.6669 for sure. If he can work on his defense off pick and rolls and lateral quickness and also get a 3 point or midrange shot he can be unstoppable
Zach probably has the biggest chip on his shoulders of any player in the draft going to the city and team with the biggest chip on it's shoulders! Edey next to Ja and Jaren is gonna be special! I'm excited!
Just for the record i think he will be top 5 for RotY. I think at some point in his career he is going to be an All Star. Likely finish top 3 in his class
He has focused so hard on conditioning He has lost all excess fat At least 15-20lbs lighter today than 2-3 months ago Will also get to show his 3 pointer in the NBA Edey will be a starter and top 5 in ROY votes! Heard it here first
So the draft is going on. Zach hasn't even been listed in the "Best still available" list on the screen. Then he gets a call when they're still talking about the 8th pick. I want to know if it was a big surprise to get a call that early?
Are you willing to come back on here in a couple of years and admit that your wrong when he is successful and what team do you think he should have went to?
