Haha, that made it more confusing. The diameter never changes. It’s a ratio for reduction, for the driven gear (ring) divided by the drive gear (pinion). A common one is 4.10’s, 41, on the ring divided by 10 on the pinion. A higher number is a higher ratio or a greater reduction for how many times the input (pinion/driveshaft) has to turn to spin the output (ring/axles/tires) . On a side note… a higher ratio comes with a thicker ring gear and a smaller diameter pinion (fewer teeth remember), it becomes impractical at some point so there is usually a carrier split at some point where the carrier itself is machined differently so you don’t end up with an extremely heavy/thick ring gear. Probably too much info for a comment 😂

I started with fi tech for the nature of the budget build, I would not recommend them. I had two units go bad in two weeks and threw a carburetor I had laying around on it. The carb is nowhere close to where it should be. Hollie reached out and we’re gonna be trying the sniper two on it. We’ll see how long it lasts. I have high hopes.
