This kid is a very good passer. I like that he is so unselfish. He does everything extremely well. If he develops more defensively, the sky will be the limit for this kid. Look at how good he makes his team mates around him.
Two people below mentioned it, but his jumper is exactly like McGrady. Smooth and effortless on his catch and release. OKC has given the league on how to build from scratch with the right pieces. Rubio - PG Lavine - SG Young - PF Wiggins - SF Pekovic - Center Bennett off the bench This team has similar potential to when VC and TMac were playing in Toronto...might take them a year though to really make some noise as a Western Conference threat.
If he was as good as Wiggins at defense he would have been ranked higher than Wiggins, possibly a number one pick in my opinion. He has a better jump shot than Wiggins, his athleticism matches Wiggins if not better than Wiggins, and he is definitely a better passer than Wiggins. He is a good scorer, I like his game
LeKan Mensah I never said he was a better scorer, but I do think he would be a better player if he was as good as Wiggins on defense. And even though I didn't say Zach was better than Wiggins at scoring, if you look at all the summer league games they played and who scored more and who shot a higher percentage, it was Zach Lavine. So maybe you are taking it as a joke now, but Lavine has potential bro, trust me on that
LeKan Mensah I guess I wrong about field goal percentage but skills wise, I honestly think if Zach Lavine was good at defense he would be better than Wiggins. I look at Wiggins and his handles aren't that great, and he isn't great at creating space and shooting, while Zach Lavine can create space when he shoots and he can make them over the defender with a hand in his face. Wiggins is better than Lavine at driving to the basket but Lavine is pretty good as well, and the guy is so athletic, he is there with Wiggins in terms of athleticism. The only thing that stands out to me about Wiggins is his defense, that is what makes him better than Lavine right now
raredreamfootage How does Love not fit with Lebron? He is the best outlet passer in the NBA and Lebron happens to be that guy who loves fast breaks along with Kyrie. Just imagine Love getting the rebound and giving an outlet pass to Kyrie 70 feet away and then Kyrie lobs it to Lebron, I mean it doesn't get any better than that
Excited about watching him and Wiggins this year! Really hope they both pan out. These past 9 years haven't been pleasant for us. Having a passer like Rubio will really help them. Anthony Bennett could improve a lot in year 2 and Thaddeus Young is solid.
LaVine, Wiggins, Bennett, (Thaddeus) Young, and some dude by the name of Ricky Rubio. Plus Gorgui Dieng, and Muhammad. They won't make the playoffs - but they'll be fun to watch...
They just gotta stay the course kind of like what the Warriors did a couple years ago with Steph and Klay (Wiggins and Lavine). Who that 3rd core member is ala Draymond Green who knows. But I think the Wolves future is really bright
If the T-Wolves starting lineup is PG-Rubio SG-Lavine SF-Wiggins PF-Thad.Young C-Pekovic. Not gonna lie, this team will be BEAST! Has a lot of potential
Jumping ability is so important in basketball, especially as quickly as he does. It helps you with your jump shot, rebounding, blocking, when you're driving to the rim for a lay-up you have more hang-time. If LaVine improves his 3-point shooting, he will become very dangerous, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!!!
And also what is up with the Wolves picking up all the explosive ass players? LaVine, Wiggins, Robinson III...sitting pretty for the next couple years with all these pieces.
A lot of people are forgetting that Timberwolves are in the western conference. They won't make the playoffs because of the lack of experience they have and the competition in the west. They have a lot of potential though and they'll be exciting to watch
wolves fan should be excited with lavine, in college he was criticized for inability to finish around the ring and in contact and in SL he's shows that he can and he's improved.
Whats crazy is he went 14. That means about 12 teams over looked this kid bc idk why and a few overlooked him twice. My team is boston and I was incredibly sad we did bc hes gonna turn out to be the best 2 guard in this crop. Word.
rubio, lavine, wiggins, budinger, brewer, they have a lot of young athletic wings and a crafty playmaker. that roster is tailor made for ricky rubio. if rubio averages less than double digit assists next season he deserves to be waterboarded. if they are going to play fast they still need more shooting to fill the corners on the fast break and they have to figure out how to replace the loss of kevin love's offensive rebounding. their identity will be A) using their athleticism and quickness to aggressively pressure the ball and create turnovers, and B) run up the court for alley oops on offense, and in my opinion pekovic and bennett don't make sense in either one of those scenarios. they could move one or both of them while at the same time addressing the lack of shooting and the rebounding hole. other than that i think they are going to have a team that is if not competitive then at the very least least fun to watch and easy to root for.
