You totally missed my point. If you have people under 6 ft who can dunk on the same rim as these tall freakish athletes; then what these athletes do out on the court would be more impressive on a higher hoop. The 10ft goal was set long ago when athletes were smaller & less athletic. Just because something has remained the same for so long doesn't mean it can't be changed.

There are quite a few reasons the NBA would never go for it...one being that it would make past statistics null and sports are number-driven. It isn't like introducing a new, separate stat line like a 4-point shot....Raising the rim would mess with FG%, FT%, Rebounding, Blocks. etc. This isn't the time to make a fundamental change to the game, especially when there's a trend back toward mid-range shooting. When I see someone throw down a 1080 spin tomahawk with their 50+ inch vertical and graze their mustache on the rim, then maybe we can have this discussion.
