I'm on my way home after seeing this at the Lyric Theatre in London. It was amazing, and Zachary James was the standout performer in an incredible cast. What a voice. He had an almost magnetic charisma, every time he moved or said anything, my eyes were glued to him.
I can't see him as the villain in it. An antagonist maybe but he just feels very human. His motives are all things we can relate to as humans. The fates meanwhile consistently seem to be out to get our protagonists
I saw you as Hades last Saturday... this is one of those musicals I get addicted to. From the first note I was trying to ´absorb´ all this lovely music and these incredible voices of a perfect cast into my soul, and trying to make it ´last´ in my mind. I´ll be travelling back to Hadestown next month! I´m sure there is lots to discover when seeing Hadestown multiple times... it has layers!!!
Watched the West End last night, had high hopes for Hades and they were SMASHED. Hades has never personified the oil he controls so perfectly. Perfectly sleazy, perfectly angry. Absolutely astonishing.
Absolutely adored you and the rest of the cast in the West End Hadestown The glee in your voice when you said "Oh, it's about me~!" in Epic III absolutely killed me with laughter Then by the end of the song I was in floods of tears Really want to catch it again while it's still on
I was able to see this in person at the West End and it was spectacular! I honestly like your version better than the original recording so Im very happy to find online.
Saw the show last night. You were just the absolute best, not just in singing, but in movement. The sheer presence and charisma that you carry yourself with, the way that you hold yourself, the way that you know JUST where to be, is astounding. All I can say is MORE.
Dont usually leave a comment on anything. I saw hadestown on saturday oh my god best theatrical production i've ever seen in my life. I loved listening to each person in the performance. I also loved the little humour you brought to the show thank you for doing this role you are literally perfect for hades.
As someone who's been a huge fan of Hades and all those that's played him, you've totally embodied this character and its safe to say he's definitely in good hands!
I've been listening to Hadestown for a few years now. I bought the OBC vinyl, a shirt, and fancy reusable tote bag. I would give it all back if I could get this on vinyl. Patrick Page is a legend in his own right, but my man, this is otherworldly. Thank you for giving this to us
Saw the show last week, it quickly become my favourite musical I have heard! I have been trying to find some high quality versions of this by you! Finally find it! No disrespect to Patrick, but you just hit different.
I saw Hadestown last month without hearing a single note beforehand and I’ so glad. To see and hear the music performed for the first time was a breathtaking experience. Now I’m recommending it to every person I see!
Saw it last night with my gf. Both her and I loved it so much it was amazing to watch from someone who didn't watch musicals much (not anymore) and someone who loves them it was incredible. And dont get us started on the sassy hades walk!
i saw you as hades on feb 24th along with simon oskarsson as orpheus and you were absolutely AMAZING . i went with my mom , we were fifth row centre and we came to the stage door after . you were our absolute favourite , your vocals were so dynamic and so pleasing to hear !! we're seeing you again on the 6th of april , row H , just because of how much we LOVED the show
Saw you on Wednesday! Your voice was absolutely electrifying! Favourite character from the show and a brilliant Hades! Loved hearing you speak every time!
Saw Hadestown at Lyric Theater last week and it was magnificent. Truly among the greatest shows I have seen. I feel this song in my bones. Thank you for sharing.
I saw it last week too. I thought it was tremendous. Normally I come away from a show with criticisms of one sort or another but I genuinely can't think of anything about it I didn't like.
Coming to London this Saturday to finally see this show live! You sound amazing as Hades, I really love the casting choices! Kind regards from Belgium ✌
Absolutely loved the show!! Wish I could have got the cast recording but I don’t have anything that can play a CD any more sadly!!! Absolutely love this you smashed it. Your hades was phenomenal (and your costars as well - everyone was just brilliant!!)
I came to see you last Wednesday, and the show was breathtaking. The small changes to your Hades completely changes the power of the show. Can really feel Hades' love for his wife and how that affects his actions. I want to return and watch again and again. I'm in awe
Seeing Hades on the March 2nd Matinee. Hopefully you're on. This is stunning. Intimaidating yet vocally stunning. I may be stealing this to add to a best of Hadestown playlist 👀
Saw you on Saturday in London - WOW! That voice - i went into it blind and not knowing what it was or was about - but holy lord, i loved it and was blown away!
That G1 is very interesting. It’s very clearly chest dominated, but there’s something else mixing that I can’t quite tell exactly what it is. Is that a note you have on a regular basis, or just a morning voice only type of note? -signed a bass who only ever gets chest G1’s in the morning :(
@@Granta_Omegabut the special thing is this song can be related to so many different parts of history. Walls being built is a symbolic capitalist object, a tool for capitalist authority to keep their workers in line, all under the banner that they are offered “security”. It might’ve not been written about Donald Trump but it could be applied to Trump’s presidency.
