It was the first time we got to see Batman actually fight like Batman in live action finally. Affleck's suit finally made it a reality.

Batman just killing for no reason was a big flaw though. It would have been so much better if he hadnt. Choosing to kill Superman and ultimately deciding against it would have had much more of an impact as well, if this one rule wasnt already broken. Apart from that underrated movie though

People actually been waiting for a movie like this and were very disappointing in the outcome

the fight scene between BM and SM was good. Everything leading up to this moment was nonsense, only working because everyone in this movie is stupid.

honestly I'd say the best way to experience the DCEU is to stop right here.... Man of Steel was great... this movie was lowkey brilliant... but... everything else from this point forward is somewhere between trash and mediocre at best. but if you absolutely must go forward... I'd say the ones most worth watching in descending order are... Wonder Woman THE Suicide Squad (NOT Suicide Squad without the "the", which was bloody awful) Shazam Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods and... scraping the absolute bottom of the barrel before you get to the stuff that is completely unwatchable... Zack Snyder's Justice League The Flash Aquaman (shit movie but at least Amber Heard looks good in it) Justice League (theatrical cut) was a complete trainwreck. I wanted to walk out of that move so goddamned bad. It just sucked. The Snyder cut fixes SOME of the stuff that was wrong with the theatrical cut, and slightly improves on some other things, but.... it also makes some things worse... notably some of the edits aren't as tight... they spent a ton of money redoing Steppenwulf and he still looks like shit... and... the original cut is long and boring and tedious and brought down by the fact that they tried to stuff too much stuff into it all at once... but the Snyder cut is much longer... so... yeah... if you're going to watch it I'd recommend cutting it up into four parts and having someone over to give you a blowjob while you're doing it, or getting high maybe, I dunno. Not a good movie, though.

yep, he is pretty much the only good thing about this movie.

I really dug it despite the flaws. Don't think it deserved that much criticism. I will say I didn't like how Lex luthor knew bruce Wayne was batman and batman seemed simple minded and too gullible.

It's not as good as the animated movie version.

@@nebulous8389 He was blinded by his rage, powerlessness, and paranoia. The day the Black Zero event happened was the day Bruce decided that Superman was guilty. Luthor played on this. He even remarks how easy it was to push Bruce over the edge with his notes and staged disasters because it confirmed what Bruce already wanted to be true. It's something that happens in real life. Otherwise intelligent people falling for obvious scams and false information because despite the information being sensationalized or ridiculous, it confirms what the person in question wants to be true and therefore they fall for it. Same case for Batman.

It still surprises me that this movie is the first time it's ever been brought up that both of their mothers have the same name.

martha kent is the adopted mother to "kal el" superman/clark kent martha wayne is the mother to "bruce thomas wayne" aka batman martha is a very common name to name girls back in the 1920-1950s(both martha's were born around the same time lines) superman wears these items: glasses for vision impairment 80% of smallville/metropolis has that disability. even though he doesnt need glasses. superman is around 6'5/batman is also around 6'5 they are giants amongst the human they walk by. batman is master in every know martial arts and know every language that benefits him "plus he has over 15 master degrees. the kents were farmers who were not poor or broke however they enough money to get by. the waynes owned half of gotham city by the time bruce was born/bruce has stocks in everything worth selling or keeping/hes a huge advocate for taking in orphans "dick grayson" first robin/nightwing,jason todd second robins the first red hood character. tim drake leader of "teen titans and titans go" was the third robin but retired an electrical/bio mechanical engineer/barbrah gordon was the only batgirl later named "second commisoner gordon after her father(batman beyond series)

This Lex is really underrated. People expected a chad Lex in a business suit, but the Lex Eisenberg played was the mad scientist archetype with a modern tech twist. I think he killed the role

It's one of the things that doesn't get appreciated about this movie. People complain about exposition in movies. There is so much going on with Lex it can be missed because Zack isn't explaining everything to you. Lex was so many steps ahead.

Bruce is right. He has no powers but he's fearless. That's why the Justice League look at him like he's crazy and give him maximum respect. He's mortal.

The end of this film changed his view on that. It was a great line in the heat of the moment but Bruce realized he was wrong. Superman was indeed brave.

Doomsday, yep. He appeared in the Death of Superman series back in 1989 or 1990. It was the first official comics I bought explicitly for investment purposes. I still remember and have my multiple unopened black bag and white bag copies as well.

Because no way Superman would lose to Batman first of all especially with him focused on saving his mother, and no way he would just let Batman go save his mom, he would’ve went to save his own mom to make sure she wouldn’t die with or without Batman’s help. Great movie still but it has its fair share of flaws.

But I like that they had Superman on the rope or even the losing end of their fight because of Superman is TOO UNSTOPPABLE then he becomes boring (but yet Batman fans don’t seem to think the same for him). Whether it’s by surprise, a naturally more powerful enemy, or some other circumstance, it’s good for Superman to face difficulty occasionally.

@@Jpew2007 I agree it would be boring if Superman never faced any challenges, but my issue is that Batman beat him that’s just ridiculous, Superman is crazy powerful, the only reason he didn’t immediately kill Batman was because he’s smart and knew lex couldn’t be trusted and so he tried to talk to Batman but they made Batman dumb asf to where he refused to listen to word he had to say and just starts fighting him. My point is that what would have actually happened imo is Superman would have shut that bs down immediately and could kill Batman easily, but being the good guy he is he would spare him and tell him to stfu and listen while he explains the situation, then they could team up and go save Martha, then go whoop lexs azz n kill abomination together. And IF Batman actually proved to be enough of a threat in their fight, if Superman thought for a second he could actually lose, he would immediately kill Batman without hesitation like sorry I tried to spare you but you leave me no choice then go save his mom. He wouldn’t risk his mom dying by refusing to kill Batman, he’s a good guy but he’s not that stupid to just lose because he refuses to kill Batman. If he had to he would’ve killed Batman, there’s no fckn way he would let Batman kill him like that. Batman would have to think of some crazy lex level mastermind bs plan to even have a chance of killing Superman, Superman would’ve laser visioned tf out of any lil dumb kryptonite gas grenades before they could even reach him, he would’ve used his cray vision and super hearing to locate Batman, he would have DESTROYED him in that Batman Ironman suit like swinging a sledgehammer on a soda can lol. Batman is awesome but most people are just biased and/or really don’t even understand just how powerful Superman is.

Superman's death is exactly how King Arthur dies in the film "Excalibur" and "Excalibur" is the film on the posters outside the cinema in the first scene. "Next Wednesday: Excalibur". Bruce and his parents had just seen "Zorro". Zorro is a masked vigilante who mark the criminals with a Z. Everything in this film is detail.

@@NINJA_OUTLAW420 Well here is more stuff. This film references the comics "The Death of Superman". The story of King Arthur is called "Le Mort d'Arthur" "The Death of Arthur". There is nothing random in this film it's layered and layered.

@OUTLAW420 Kal El is King Arthur. Lois is Guinivere. Bruce is Lancelot, the (Dark) Knight. Lex is the sorceror Morgana Le Fay. Doomsday is Mordred, an evil child made of magic and blood. The spear is Excalibur, the magic weapon that can kill the demon child. If you watch Rebel Moon, I can tell you there are Arthurian characters in that too, if people can spot the connection :)

I’m not mad about the idea of making Batman able to actually put up a fight against Superman with Al his weapon used kryptonite to weaken his powers, but I just hate the way they went about it, they made Batman and Superman both look dumb in different ways. They made Batman look dumb(just because his costume looked like sh1t compared to the Christian bale batman movies) because he didn’t even have a good reason to kill Superman at all, and they made Superman look dumb when he was focused on saving his mom and he just loses to Batman when he would have never lost especially with his mom’s life dependent on killing Batman, he would’ve ended Batman with the quickness like sorry bro gotta save my mom as soon as dumbazz Batman showed he was not gonna listen to him and hear him out he would’ve been like ok I tried to talk to you and spare you but you leave me no choice. He wouldn’t ended Batman like he was nothing.

@@NINJA_OUTLAW420The Batman costume was right out of the comics, including the armored one he fights Superman with... Batman's costumes evolved over the decades. What the movie suffered from was being one single film and two movies worth of story and Snyder said the same thing. The plan was that the first part of this story was going to be a full Batman film to introduce the new Batman while weaving a story where he meets Superman and Luther with Luther leading Batman on into what would be a conflict in a second film, Batman V Superman. He even talks at length about how an entire plot about Luther being contacted by an Alien on how to restart what we would have found out was the Brainiac Construct...the computer of Zod's ship which would trick Luther into creating Doomsday by telling him that it would instead give him the ability to fight Superman by giving him Kryptonian abilities...it was all cut because the studio would only do one film.

Agree 100%! As a teen I read the Batman comics of drawing legend Neal Adams, in my twenties I read Frank Miller's version of Batman and Ben Affleck is by far the best and most comic accurate version of our hero!
