Shout out to Zack Wheeler. You got mistreated by the previous ownership of the Mets and that sucks, but I'm happy to see how you've grown to be one of the best. I think most of us knew you had the potential to be one of the best. Health was an issue, yes, but even still I see comments on older videos of yours when you were with the team and how people wish the Mets could have kept you. I'm one of them, but I am still proud to see where your career has gone. Much respect, always and good luck Saturday.
They backed him through all the injuries and didn't feel they should break the bank for a pitcher with history of durability. He could have been more loyal but I don't fault him for being a mercenary. Mets let DeGrom go for the same reason and the dude hasn't pitched much.
