The only way to answer this question is a spec series...and no one wants that. F1 isn't about what driver is the best, it's about a team solving problems to be the first to finish the highest level technical and skill married competition the world has ever seen. We love drivers for their daring to defy death. We love F1 for the track battles which are only possible as a team endeavour. Drivers come and go, teams remain.

I guess the question is, which current drivers are better than Checo? Those would be the drivers Zack Brown is maybe referring to

We have entered the scorched earth era.

Many drivers could win this championship and the last with that car. However if another car was only slightly behind the redbull than Max makes his money by winning then. For example Lewis in 2017, 2018 had a slight car advantage over vettel but he still won the title.

Considering Mclaren, MB and AM aren't threats to the WDC, how much quicker is RB than Ferrari? If you put Verstappen and Hamilton as teammates in the Ferrari how many driver pairs excluding Alonso in the RB could outscore those two. Not many? Norris, GR, Sainz, RIC, Leclerc while they're quick in their own right they haven't been in a season long title fight they don't have the experience of having to be close to perfect weekend to weekend with that pressure of leading, it's always easier to chase. Could 6 or 7 drivers win in the RB probably but could 6 or 7 drivers outscore a variation of Alonso, Verstappen or Hamilton in the current Ferrari, I don't believe so.

I think it takes 3 elements to win a championship, team, car and driver, when all 3 are aligned in unison working to its full there's you're potential to win it, take any of them 3 elements out and your chances are slim. Therefore, I think Zak makes a fair point about Max, indeed put in a Williams and he'd be nowhere. Besides, Zak seems to be taking leaf out the Horners play book of tricks, sticking the knife in when it's least needed, so I say high five to the Zak. As expected, Horner can't take the proverbial medicine lol

Max hit the wall 3 or 4 times last year and got away with it where others didn't . 6 who can win in the RB SLH Alonso Checo Leclerc Sainz Danny Ric/ Lando/Botas Danny Ric and Botas have the experience of being multiple race winners in a season. But yeah, get in there Zac.💪

I see the car as a necessary but not sufficient condition for winning F1 championships.

TLDR - Switching to McLaren and Lando would be easy if it weren't for ZackBrown. (Wish my heart would change on him he makes it hard) Early on as a SIM racer, I was drawn to Landos channel. Always had a soft spot for him. He was authentic, he laughed alot, he was very fast, and impossible not to like. He put me in a good space just being woth the community. I chose Max cause the first season I tried to watch every race but I didn't have F1TV subscription yet. I was just in the very infancy of my love for the sport. But that first season was the season Max came up short trying to dethrone Lewis. To me, Mercedes were the Evil Empire, or the NY Yankees. So being a Max fan was organic for me. Yet. After the Championship, the man I noticed he was. The way he handled the Checco situation I started to see the cracks developing in my alignment with MV1. I had to be honest with myself. It was easy to route for Max. I felt like it was a convenience being MV1 Fan, amd I wasn't big on his fighter pilot attitude. Where he was never wrong. OK fast forward to now. So why not Lando? He comes up short enough. That I wouldn't feel like a Bandwagon fan. He shows glimpse of absolute brilliance. He has a brilliant 2cd driver that will keep him honest snd force him to develope. The answer to that is simple. ZACK BROWN. That man to me is detestable. I can't love the team because of him. He reminds me of a hanger on. He is the friend that's always around but mever really has any skin in the game. He is the guy out front when it's easy, but when your outnumbered by 11 he isn't down for the cause, he won't take a beating for his mates. He doesn't take care of himself. He is the CEO that wants to be everywhere at all times when it's going great, but you conveniently never have to lay your eyes on him when things are tough. He has that thing about him that isn't even his fault, I just would avoid him IRL. Not a fan of the guy. Couple that with the way he has positions himself against Red Bull Racing Other than Max I like Lando, and Russell enough that I could seriously buy Merch. I think given the tools to win, Russell could upset some fans. I hvnt even gotten into the Russell thing. But I have a hard time not routing for him to do well. In qualifying, I'm ALWAYS watching Russell. I've kept a closer eye on him the most others. Watching him come out of Williams. The flat he got in his first race at Mercedes. (The only reason he didn't win that maiden drive for Merc.) The way he punked Bottas. The list goes on and on, I think he has managed his relations with Lewis surprisingly well. He has caught a hand of cold cards going to the most dominant team on the grid the first year they fall off and show signs that there finished. Wish I understood my feelings on Russell better. Maybe cause he doesn't answer every question like a robot. I get little glimpses of a person that is slippery enough to get his way and can sway the conversation in his favor by choosing his words wisely/cautiously. I'm naturally gonna be a fan of any man that can articulate their argument.

It's always a combination of both driver and car, my reason why look at the Merc only Lewis and Nico did it in the Mercedes I don't believe Botas couldn't have done it even if Lewis wasn't in the other car, yes Max in that Mercedes and Alonso also but it's needs a top driver and car combo.

Oh c’mon Cam, Zak’s comment was more nuanced than you make it sound. We all know Max is good but he also has the best car, by far. The reason he makes hardly any mistakes is because of the dominant car. He made mistakes before 2022. But he’s good, no argument.

I love you cam but on the whole i have to agree with zak. You honestly don't think if either Hamilton, alonso, Leclrec, russel, norris or even sainz could win a championship in that car? I would even stick money on an Ocon with a smidge of confidence, especially if they were all in the same situation as max, meaning i don't think a team has ever existed that pours so much into optimising one driver and next to nothing into the other (maybe ferrari+schumi), despite a 1st and 2nd driver always being a thing. This isn't a knock on max, hes obviously ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!... but i just think we are thinking hes doing things with that car nobody else can because of what ive said above paired with Checos levels just being average at best for a while now. Take away the Red Bull, all things absolutely equal.. alonso and hamilton slap up verstappen even now. Just my humble humble opinion, much love cam and everyone.

Well, the way I see it, no driver can win the title in another car than the Red Bull, they can't even win a race like Hamilton since 2021, Leclerc since 2022, Lando just popped his cherry. Also, remove Hamilton from Mercedes and you have Bottas as a two times champion at least. So this conversation is pointless.

Zak Brown is a true american..complaining about others when things don't go his way and when it goes well..well,he has no problem to stick some feathers in his own A$$.The safetycar came out and missed Lando at some 20-30 yards.The speed at which Lando was going was not a match for the speed of the safetycar,hence Max and all the others were held up at safetycar speeds were Lando increased his cap from 11 to 32 seconds..enough to have a free pitstop and be in the lead.If the safetycar had picked up Lando he would be in 4th or 5th place after his pitstop and who knows if he would have won.He certainly didn't win on merit..so Zak Brown could take it a notch down.Don't get me wrong,i'm glad someone else won instead of Max but if this was a last race and a championship decider,we would have another conversation.

Have you forgotten what Max was like before 2021 most of the drivers he was like a bully with other drivers until he won his first championship. Max max max. Has I stated to you before if either Hamilton or Alonso was Max's teammate he wouldn't have won so many races in one season. It's getting crazier... have you, as Formula 1 fans, ever been so busy trying to piss off a great world champion? I know that Michael also aroused that aversion and that Senna was quite an asshole, who besides his greatness also of course had a gigantic country and its people behind him. The only one who did not arouse that aversion was Lewis because he stood up in the politically correct and Woke era!
