All this information was finally added in the books in the new curriculum of 2016, in social studies grade 8 book. And the names of all the Heroes are mentioned there. 👍👍👍👍

This has always been my contention. There are many people who fought for Zambia's independence that are not even mentioned. Its as if only one man fought for the liberation.

Wow bless you my brother ! What an honour it is to hear from you and good to know that’s your dad!! Awesome !! This episode had me gripped to the screen 📺 jaw dropped ! I mean , wow 😮! I’d never heard any of this level of detail before. As a result, it has caused me to look deeper into the history of Zambia in unfamiliar places . I’m reading a lot ...almost everyday ...my mind is exploding! Bless you and please say hi to your daddy and tell him thank you 🙏🏾! Thank you on behalf of my family , my wonderful subscribers and the nation 👍🏾.

A point of correction Mr akashambatwa lewanika on the first welfare association to be formed in northern Rhodesia. The year in which that first welfare association was in 1912,and not in 1924. Yes,the first leader was Donald siwale and true it was formed at mwenzo. In 1924,that was the year,when the bsa company rule ended and colonial rule began ruling both southern and northern Rhodesia. Sir,you are very right that so many pre independence Zambia had other leaders who contributed massively to the liberation of Zambia. People like Godwin mbikusita lewanika,the founder of northern Rhodesia,African national Congress in 1948. Dauti yamba, harry mwaanga nkumbula,etc. it's unfortunate that in modern Zambia, history as a subject in schools is placed under optional subjects and not one of the basic subjects to be taught to all pupils in classes. So,children too don't like history,they think it's not important. So starting from the government,it's important to lobby that let history be taught widely in schools if we are going to have a well informed generation about the history of Zambia and the world in future. Let teachers not be biased on most important subjects to be taught in schools because all subjects are important because each of them has a professional attachment to it. Eg lawyers come from a subject called history. Thank you.

@istandwithzambia4035 7 месяцев назад
That’s a great question! Well before the white man gave us names … we were just kingdoms . The Bemba kingdom , Barotseland , Ngoni kingdom… in short the area was divided into different kingdoms and the more land you confiscated through battles the stronger you were. Thanks for your question, I like it 👍🏾

@@istandwithzambia4035 Thanks for your reply. I asked bcoz the History our sch teaches talk less about our past especially beyond Colonial Ruler.Is it so becoz our fore fathers had no means of documenting or some one played so that we as lost as we are today.
