Zane sheds light on the Andrei Daescu cheating allegations. If he were actually trying to cheat why would Andrei apply a foreign substance before paddle testing when he could easily wait until the paddle had passed.

Zane's take makes a lot of sense. Glad he's speaking out on this.

This is the worst ruling of all time. It failed testing…that should be it. No fine. No suspension.

Yeah, I completely agree. If he didn’t play with the paddle then he didn’t cheat. Having a paddle that fails testing is VERY common

I come to listen to the Zane the brain, and he nailed it. The other guy’s Twitter take seems convoluted imo.

Just answer Zane’s question. Your command of the English language is apparent and you keep talking in circles. What would your coarse of action be? You talked for 3 minutes with no answer.

So doesn't Andre's Proton paddle have an advertised "Nanotac" surface? Sorta rubbery like a ping pong paddle. It's no secret - but is it legal? It's hard to believe any individual wouldn't have put up a bigger fuss having to pay $50k unless a sponsor-type entity was footing the bill as Thomas suggest, especially since he didn't actually use the paddle as Zane mentions. So is the Nanotac surface the "foreign" substance here? Why is everyone being so opaque about everything if the goal is simply to standardize regulations.

It all seems just too convenient. Proton gets tons of talk about their paddle and that it spins a lot and doesn’t need any foreign substance. And the governing body gets to look hard on paddle stuff. Seems orchestrated. I don’t think Andre would make this “mistake” all by himself.

So the next person to submit a paddle that doesn't pass due to grit or delam should pay 50K ? how is this different ? he submitted a non-conforming paddle....who cares why ?

The difference is he put something on the surface, it was not made that way….its to send a message not to place any substance on the face of the paddle whether before or after the testing.
