My thoughts on ichigo’s powers is half of his soul reaper powers is tethered to his Quincy powers and his other half of soul reaper powers with his hollow powers, i know that this is filler but during the muramasa arc when muramasa manifested zongetsu ichigo still retained a portion of his soul reaper powers
Slaying Moon: Hollow Zangetsu - The Full Moon, which is white; Always out in the open, or at least tried to be. Quincy Zangetsu - The Dark Side of the Moon, which is black, also kept secrets from Ichigo All the transformations? Different phases of the Moon: The iconic transformation/Bankai = Waxing/Waning Gibbous Vasto Lorde - Full Moon Mugetsu - Waxing/Waning Crescent Fullbring/Brave Souls form - New Moon Full Transformation/Bankai (With Dual Blades) = First/Last Quarter
@@sageoverheaven It's supposed to represent his powers "waning" afterwards while the New Moon represents the fact that he had none of his powers at the time and had to rely on something different, or at least none of what was considered to be his soul reaper half. It can work both ways though. I was just not trying to leave his Fullbring out is all.
@@supersonicmario56 I feel like the fullbring could represent his powers returning, like the crescent moon appearing after the new moon (mugetsu) passes. He only gets stronger from there, after all. Regardless, great comment lmao. Most original thing I've seen in a Bleach comments section.
That feel when you realize ichigo's final bankai is just his shikai that has a hollow "mask" and his getsuga tensho has always been a modified Quincy arrow, just using different kinds of riatsu
@Roman Francis hes saying the black getsuga tensho is more hollow based by the way it comes out.. And sense his bankai IS FROM A HOLLOW it make sense why it resembles a cero in power.
@ESparda A.K.A.悪魔の死神 alot of anime involving superpowers does this. Meliodas has like 5 "forms" and Luffy has atleast 5 forms even if you only really count the gears. its a good way to avoid making the power creep seem too boring by making the boosts actually change how the character looks or even how they fight. but even the forms can get ridiculous eventually.
The original Tensa Zangetsu was my favorite bankai. Sleek and simple design that stood out compared to all the other bankai, awesome outfit, simple and straightforward powers that are visually captivating
Ichigo got powers from Rukia, lost them, unlocked his powers, sacrificed them, got fullbring powers, lost them, got new powers, lost them by having his sword destroyed, got the duel-wield style, got depowered by Yuha, got it back from Tsukishima, then got it destroyed again by Yuha. Most bizzare main character power progression I have seen. War arc shikai duel-wield was the coolest form.
@@RisingDeath It is made clear in the fight against Yuha that picking himself up after a loss is a major theme for Ichigo and it always was for the series in general, plus his powerups or depowerings often served really obvious purposes for the narrative, like him coming to terms with his quincy heritage or his willingness to throw away his powers for his friends contrasting with Aizen who was throwing others under the bus to become the ultimate lifeform and so forth. Opinions may vary on if it was well-executed, but saying Kubo was just trolling is showing a lack of reading comprehension.
@ESparda A.K.A.悪魔の死神 Yuha Bach is Yhwach. Aka the original Quincy aka the son of the Soul King aka the final boss of the series aka the new Aizen in the final arc.
hollow ichigo is still my favorite i was so pissed when in opening 11 it made it seem like they were teaming up only to find out its was just for the opening
They hinted at Hollow Ichigo being his Zankpaktou the whole time. Everytime they fought Hichigo always showrx him new ways he could use his Zanpaktou such as : Spinning Shikai, Getsuga in Bankai, Non-Swinging Getsuga in Bankai.
The main reason I hate Hichigo being his zanpaktou was how weird it was that he wanted to take over ichigos body. He never really screamed for acknowledgement. He wanted to be the one in the driver's seat so why does everyone act like he was doing it out of concern for Ichigo? He saved his life to save his own skin, he showed him things to make him stronger for when he took over, and Ichigo rarely took any of these "lessons" for anything beyond a one off moment. Personally just see it as lucky coincidences that kubo took advantage of rather than a foreshadow from the very beginning since an evil entity saving the MC is something thats done a lot.
i find it odd how Ichigo's ending Shikai is such a mysterious concept for people. he fully realized that his Zanpakuto was two beings, which became two separate blades. his bankai puts them together into one being to fight for ichigo. what did his blade last look like when it was awoken as two spirits with the intention of fighting with Ichigo to protect him? i'd say the only reason it looks a little different is because both spirits are on the same page, there's no fighting for top spot at the help ichigo station.
At the end of the day it's still a massive energy beam, I would've preferred that Ichigo gained "energy mastery" or something like that which allowed him to perhaps make reiatsu constructs. Maybe a couple of human sized ethereal saw blades with him in the center? You know, as a defensive form that can quickly become offensive if you get too close.
@@kana22693 That isn't Ichigo's style though. He's straight forward which is why he only has one technique. It wouldn't really fit his hot-headed nature to have a complicated set of moves.
You know what ichigos double getsuga reminded me of? When kenpachi was fighting that multi armed dude (norita?) in las noches and went, "Hmm, maybe I should swing my sword with TWO hands." And proceeds to wreck the guy. Ichigo has a very kenpachi mindset when it comes to combat. "Hmm, swinging my sword and running fast didnt work? I WILL SWING MY SWORD HARDER WHILE RUNNING FASTER THEN!"
@@papereater742 Man, not learning Kido is such a waste, as Tekken even admits in other videos. And just anyway: Why do Protagonists always have the Simpliest Abilities? I saw other Manga/Anime do this differently and with SUCESS, so do not tell me it aint possible, duh.
when tekking talked about tsukishima restoring ichigo's sword i was like "wait tsukishima is still alive?" and then i forgot that everyone goes to the soul society when they die
Except when you committed heinous unforgivable acts then instead you go to Hell, but Bleach isn't consistent when it comes to the rules of the afterlife
@@aozorahaou2643 The sins committed to damn a soul to hell must be very high. Some murders won't qualify for it. I think someone needs to be very twisted like a serial killer or rapists that does it for fun. Tsukishima was probably not that evil.
1. It makes sense Ichigo never had more than one techniques, seeing as everyone else with an asuchi and multiple techniques had "HUNDREDS" of years to train with it. Ichigo only had Zangetsu, what, 2 years? 2. I think all shinigami may have that killswitch technique, but just never want to use it. Renji had it in SS arc that he used against Aizen and lost his powers for a few days, and that was the fake version of Zabimaru. It wasn't the most eff all powerful attack, but as a Last Will ability, could've worked.
After analyzing Ichigo powers and knowing that he is part Quincy, I feel that Final Getsuga/Mugetsu is his form of Letz Stil (excuse spelling) using most of his Quincy with combination of Soul Reaper. This would explain why he lost all of his powers just like Uryu
That would make sense except his father was the one who taught it to him so it has to be a soul reaper ability or at an ability unique to the Shiba family (or even very specifically related Isshin’s direct bloodline)
We know quincies fight with reishi, mugetsu is just powerful black reiatsu, you lose your shinigami powers after using it and it's the technique of ichigo's bankai, zanpakutos are a shinigami thing
The "Sheath" to Ichigo's EoS Bankai as you put it mimics Shiro and his Hallow Mask. The breaking down of it is like any time Ichigo removed his mask by force.
Man, not learning Kido is such a waste, as Tekken even admits in other videos. And just anyway: Why do Protagonists always have the Simpliest Abilities? I saw other Manga/Anime do this differently and with SUCESS, so do not tell me it aint possible, duh.
‘I’m gonna be ending it with bleach’ Tekking101 2019. What a quote to finish the year out on Matt 😂. Have a great 2020 Tekking, and keep the videos coming!
I remember back in the Dattebayo fansub days of the mid 2000's when seeing Zangetsu for the first time so damn cool The editing and pacing that sequence was so good and then the reveal was so badass with Ichigo in his superheroes landing pose.
A theory about Ichigo's TYBW "Shikai" and "Bankai" I believe that the Dual Blades aren't a Shikai but his sealed state similar to Shunsui Kyoraku. Reason for this, which you mentioned was about the "Constant Release Type", something which during the fight against Gerard Valkyrie, when Kenpachi released Nozarashi, Byakuya commented "perhaps a Constant Release Type never existed in the first place." I don't feel like Kubo would had written something like this to just had the one other person who had one be an exception to the rule. This brings me to the "Bankai" I honestly believe that it was originally planned to be Ichigo's Shikai. Reason for this is cause it has no similarities to ANY of Ichigo's previous Bankais. It even goes against what was previously stated to be the Nature of Ichigo's Powers where he's cloaked in his powers. This is seen when he's running with Unohana in the Garganta and his clothing represents the amount of Riatsu he has and later during the Fullbring arc where Chad says it after seeing Ichigo's 2nd Fullbring Form. Not to mention it doesn't have the iconic Guard. You are telling me that Ichigo's "True Full Power Bankai" doesn't have the guard in the shape of the Kanji for "Full"!? Personally I know it's a Brave Souls exclusive but Kubo did have a hand in designing it, but I'd like to think that New Years Ichigo aka Quincy Ichigo is what Ichigo would look like at 100%. As when using his Special in game the right sleeve unwraps to form a crossbow in the shape of the Kanji that's typically the guard. Something of interest... In Jump Force even though there are voice clips of Ichigo screaming "BANKAI" when you use his "Bankai" all Ichigo says is "Let's do this, Zangetsu" mean while both Rukia and Renji say "Bankai." Why? Why do only they say Bankai but not Ichigo and instead calls on the name of his Shikai when supposedly using his Bankai? It isn't even that he says it before going "Bankai" he says it after. One final thing, in the Manga when Ichigo went "Bankai" he said "Tensa Zangetsu." But something we've seen twice is that by calling out a Shikai or Bankai a incorrect name it will limit the power, as Quincy Zangetsu said Names have Power. We see this with Yumichika's Shikai where he calls it Fuji Kujaku instead of Ruri'iro Kujaku, limiting his Shikai. More importantly we see it with Zabimaru's Bankai where he PURPOSELY gave Renji the name Hihio Zabimaru instead of Souou Zabimaru to limit the Bankai since he felt Renji wasn't ready. No why wouldn't Quincy Zangetsu have given Ichigo a wrong name for the Bankai to limit it, if his goal was to suppress Ichigo's Shinigami Power?
Man, not learning Kido is such a waste, as Tekken even admits in other videos. And just anyway: Why do Protagonists always have the Simpliest Abilities? I saw other Manga/Anime do this differently and with SUCESS, so do not tell me it aint possible, duh.
PUG King yeah bleach filler was quite interesting cause the bount filler expanded the lore of artificial souls while the Zanpakuto rebellion was about internal battles
26:13 Definitely not. The whole point of Ichigo's character is that he desires the power to protect. The point of the Fullbring arc is that Ichigo can't stand being powerless. So him being powerless at the end of the story wouldn't be satisfying. The Soul Ticket thing was about Ichigo being enslaved as the Soul King. The ending we got was the "Perfect End" because Yhwach's corpse became Soul King instead, and Ichigo got to continue living as a Substitute Shinigami.
but its also good that he got his powers by desire of protrcting people and also lost it because of the same desire to protect. and if the biggest threat is down (aizen) you really dont need that powers anymore since they could assign other shinigamis to kill weak hollows.
Imagine Sakanade having a "Mugetsu" attack that can be used the instant Shinji is dying. And it inverts the state of Life and Death of both him and his opponent(s)
“TELL THEM ABOUT OUR FIGHT IN HUECO MUNDO!!!” “Kids, I would like to tell you that, as I got older, the voice in my head stopped and I was able to live a stable, happy, life. They didn’t.”
I got the line from Bleach (S) abridged. The most recent season has a framing device where Ichigo is telling the Hueco Mundo arc to his kids like in “How I met your Mother”
“Why do you need a ability to heal and a ability to defend and to attack when you have a big ass powerful blast?” Because what if someone has something stronger than your blast?
The fact that he never had an Asauchi shows just how strong Ichigo is. He lacked a basis for his sword, and simply made one with nothing but his own Reiatsu. Even Kenpachi, with his immense Reiatsu, still needed an Asauchi to create his sword.
@@dhivaansalig6398 Uryu Honestly and Urahara. At the end both were less whiney then Ichigo. After the Aizen arch ichigo felt like a whiney brat for most parts
@@davidrozo766 There is a reason though. Tsukishima warped Ichigo's family and friends' minds and they turned against him. As a human being, he was distraught or "whiny" to say the least. If that happened to your family, wouldn't you feel the same way?
When ichigo was achieving fullbring Chad said the specific words "He's always been like this... Ichigo *wears* his power!!" and because of this I can assume that the final form of Ichigo's bankai was wearing a scabbard because that was even more of its power, if I think furthur past this, wouldnt the scabbard be holding back the sharpened edge of the swords blade due to the blade sharpening with the will of the user? Maybe his last bankai was to either protect his sword or to power himself up while he builds up on will power sharpening his sword and when the scabbard finally broke his sword was able to cut down anybody? The fact of will power sharpening the blade of the sword was said by zangetsu and by another soul reaper captain when Ichigo was trying to save rukia, I forget what his name was but he couldn't talk to his zanpakuto, so he couldnt use shikai or bankai His name is Zaraki Kenpachi, commander of squad 11 I believe
The transition from 2010 to now is amazing you've really worked hard for everything you have. Congrats on the new house/studio homie. You've really earned it, one of the biggest glow ups ever on the platform
Wow what a ride, I first started watching stuff like this bec of the JoyBoy Theories channel, then i heard about you from him then from then on i watched every vid you've done. Here's to more videos, Tekking-san!
You‘re not that far off Blut is pronounced bloot, like you stayted Vene is pronounced vaynay, or at least close to it (It‘s kind of hard to phonetically type out German words in English)
I can't wait to see Barry 10 years from now go through multiple character arc and transformation to the point that he has friends & family of other objects around his size.
The whole Getsuga Jujisho argument you had reminded me of when Naruto used Rasenrengan against Pain. He just made a Rasengan in each hand. It was cool though.
Ichigo is the living embodiment of a fun quote. _"I fear not the man who has practiced one thousand different kicks. I fear the one who has practiced one kick one thousand times."_ -A philosopher I don't remember the name of.
Just binge read Bleach in about 10 days after my bro been trying to get me to watch it for years. I freakin loved it, but holy shit I’ve got so many questions. So, I now turn to you, Tekking, to fill all of my holes!! Thanks!!!
I always thought Getsuga Tensho was a sort of family technique since Isshin knew it too, so its just sort of passed down through their bloodline with the Zanpakuto spirit instinctually knowing how the technique functions.
Well, let keep up the Znapkuto for next year too. Also we just got revealed Hisagi's Bankai! As for the first one for next year. We know it Renji, you have to do our boy Renji. I look forward to the Lieutenants and High Seat members too. Keep the Zanpakuto video going please.
When Ichigo uses his mugetsu, he actually takes the form of the resemblance of Yhwach or Quincy Zangetsu. Just thought to add that little bit of information in their.
Theory: The white breaking away from the rest of the sword wasn't a Scabbard. It was a representation that he was losing his Quincy powers. Without a Quincy king to give them power he would have none. That's just my thought though.
@@Goldfire345 I was thinking the same thing, I don't think we saw Uryu much after everything. But all of the Quincy powers came from Yhwach, and since he can reclaim those powers at any point I feel like he was just the source of all of it. But it's just a theory to explain why he would switch back to his Shikai (or Bankai that looks like Shikai) instead of just using the full Bankai. Since Yhwach was powerless because of the Silver Arrow, he should've been able to keep using Bankai without fear that Yhwach would break it.
@LL xCC That's an interesting thought. A point off of that, would that make the Soul King technically a Quincy? Or a higher form of them. After finding out that Yhwach came from the Soul King it brings up some interesting points. What are Quincies, who is Yhwach really, why does he exist, why did he want to become soul king himself, and after those things r answered I think we'll know what really happened in those final moments. Only time will tell if we ever find out.
Ichigos zampactou is a reflection of his soul. Since his "soul spirit" is a hollow designed to mimick shinigami powers. He himself makes his own bankai/shikai forms. He is so attached to the memories of old man zangetsu that the Hollow side emulates the Quincy side. If that makes sence to you.
You know the idea of everyone having an "last ditch effort" attack is interesting. I'd totally call Toshiro's being something called "Ice Age" or something.
Oh so you actually like his Fullbring Shikai and Bankai? Usually when those forms came up you seemed to more make fun of them cause they didn't last long in the story. I liked them design wise a lot though they really did feel like his design upgrading.
@@EmeraldDragoon honestly, you couldnt have put it better. I wish there more defined improvements and differences about each form. And maybe new abilities to be gained from each one that show a significant improvement over the previous.
@@bluejayy2054 that would make sense until Byakuya saw Kenpachi's shikai and specifically said that they were wrong about the concept of constant release shikai. If Ichigo is an exception, why was it necessary for Kubo to write that?
@@Midsomnyx My personal headcanon: Zangetsu's release command is what the Quincy Zangetsu first told him. "Abandon your fear. Look forward. Move forward and never stop. You'll age if you pull back. You'll die if you hesitate."
When I saw that stuff I was constantly thinking like what if I had a Zanpakuto what would it be called and what is release phrase would be and I decided on: Slice and Dice...Yamato
Ichigo basically cant die.hear me out i know it sound stupid and cliche. As when/if he does the "thing" on his back (referring to white/hollow ichigo) would come out and take the wheel for ichigo, due to ichigo being in an out state. White ichigo is basically the co pilot if ever the pilot has something to do or can not drive or fly,the co pilot would always intervene to help the situation or take over the whole vehicle When this happens ichigos soul becomes stronger, due to his soul being in an almost death stage After hichigo is done with the fight he would stop and let ichigo take the wheel again in that process ichigo soul has become stronger making his shinigami/quincy/hollow powers more powerful Ichigo cant really die due to him always having a co pilot to always take the wheel if something would ever happen and this is not just pulled for my ass but its a fact that ive looked into and studied for awhile and it has been said in the manga or in the light nover or other bleach fans who have done the same research i have
@@adr6518 your theory doesn't make sense. Ichigo can clearly die. If someone stronger than his hollow fights him he'd lose. Regardless Hollow Ichigo won't force himself out of Ichigo anymore as Ichigo is now fully using his power without having to don the mask.

Neat thing about the Brave Souls Ichigo you brought up with the bow, it looks like he's using it to fire a cero, so it kinda comes off as not just fully realizing his Quincy abilities, but merging them flawlessly with his hollow abilities as well.
