Zap Mama, my Belgian compatriote. (Marie Daulne) She's from Belgium like me. Her mother is from Congo (former Zaire) and her father was from Belgium. The group was originally an Afropop accapella group of sisters with a friend, using traditional African sounds. Later she decided to try different soudns like R&B. The best group! The best singer!
Nellie K. Adaba I thought she was from Africa and when her and her mother fled their home she was helped raise by pygmies and she learned the lilt in her voice from them and later lived in belgium
As far as I know, her parents come from Africa, and she was born in Belgium, but went to Africa to learn more about where she's comming from. All that music is built on African.
This is a great combination of sound and image - a perfect marriage. The song is sootheing and romantic and sung beautifully; the direction of the video is highly creative and hypnotic with its multilayered imagery. Where can I find a better copy, can someone please help?
@georgiannmilan She's not a young artist. She was part of an Afropop group since the early 1990s in Belgium, my country. She decided to branch out on her own and try different songs like R&B. Heard she now lives in NY. I live in NY too.
