If I have rebound my z key, where can I access the toggle show/hide for the edit wheel in the interface?

Transform > Edit Spotlight It's in the top section. Second row, third from the left.

I am getting rounded corners when using this when the alpha is sharp edges, any idea why this is ?

There are some preferences you can change to control the sharpness of edges. I would read through the documentation for specifics like this. docs.pixologic.com
