Something to Note: The control to "DynaMesh" is also the same control to "Clear Mask" (ctrl + left-click(Drag)>EmptyCanvas) - So if you have a mask, and do this, it will clear the mask. However, if you do it again and no mask exists, it will DynaMesh - This is the reason I usually just hit the button after dragging it into my Custom UI - Just wanted to clear that up for anyone that's wondering :)

Dyanamesh is also size dependent. The size of your object will change the way the resolution behaves. VERY IMPORTANT!

well not anymore they updated it when you check the white dot off it doesnt care about size.
@ZephrusPrime
@ZephrusPrime 2 года назад
@@angryteapod1765 Not quite, it will adjust for smaller objects than the default cube size by adding more resolution to that smaller object but will still be effected by objects larger than the cube size. Dynamesh will still have the same adjustment to resolution when the object is larger than the default cube that will not match the resolution slider. The dot is very handy for smaller objects in the scene that need more resolution assuming that the main object is within the default cube size.

Good sir you have made a believer out of me... You may recall me from previous videos as "the angry guy ranting about zbrush and how he will never use it until they fix the confusing UI"... but with the help of these vids I was able to give it another go, redesign the UI into a format I like, even change the confusing navigation keys into blender navagation, and the short

You’re welcome Brew, and I’m so happy to hear you gave ZBrush a genuine second chance :) Changing the UI and controls for your own personal needs is what I believe truly makes the software comfortable for someone - Comments like yours are the exact reason I’m making this series public and available for free - Thank you for kind words, and I wish you all the best with your waifu sculpting adventures :)

@@TheRoyalSkies Hehe I have been lurking your patreon for a bit now. its definately a channel I want to support... Although I had a thought in this series, I dunno how well planned out ahead of time you have your vids... but as someone just starting to get into sculpting and moving between software like blender zbrush and substance which I also use sometimes, one of the biggest things that causes foggyness in what to do next or where to go next is knowing when to switch between them.. substance is prety straight forward,.. but for zbrush its still a little hard to define that transition point if ya get me,.. and if I am find it a little foggy others must as well.. if you do have any spare slots to fill in this series I would love to see a short little breakdown on how you make your way through the full character creation process from start to finish,.. maybe even broken down into like.. 5 or 6 steps so that its super easy to just tick off as ya go... its weird cause I kinda get it.. but i don't think I have seen it broken down into 1. block out in blender 2. basic form in blender 3. transfer to zbrush and detail with muscle volume 4. so on and so on.. Personally I find I get tripped up when doing the outfits cause some of it works better low poly which I am confident to do in blender,. but then it seems sculpting works better for fabric. Most other tutors that talk about it again have fairly lengthy videos. Anwyays cheers again! Keep spreadin that knowledge! peaceee

@@brewmeup5827 Lol, As a member of the Squad, you have my deep gratitude :) Honestly, it's a tight schedule for ZBrush, I've mapped it out for the next ... at least 30 videos - I'll definitely go more into the "workflow" related questions once we finish ZBrush and Substance, but to give you a quick answer - Always pick the software the works the best for the task at hand. For example, I would never try to weight paint or animate in ZBrush, once the character has been completed, any sane person would texture in Substance Painter, once it's textured, from that point you take your mesh to your software of choice, Blender/Maya/Houdini, weight paint/animate, and then export to your final rendering engine (In my case that's going to be Unreal 5). But, that would be the "gist" of how I determine what software to use when. I know it sounds like a stupid simple answer, but the best software for the job is always the software I use when trying to make a workflow. The only exception to this rule is when the best software for the job is way too expensive or not possible to own perpetually. This includes things like Marvelous Designer, which is arguably the undefeated champion of creating amazing 3D clothing fast, but I simple can't afford it or buy it with a perpetual license, so that's not gonna be implemented into my workflow anytime soon lol - Zbrush and Maya were just cheap enough for me to afford. And, the time they save has more than paid for itself so I use them when it works best - Hope that clears a few things up for you!

@@TheRoyalSkies ahh you covering substance too? I feel fairly confident with that, but I gotta double back to rigging myself n level up... and also get stuck into geometry nodes,. since I learnt rigging in Maya... and its not that much different in blender... but everything is called something different.. takes a bit sometimes but I just gotta make the mental connections... oh and stop spending 50% of my time on midjourney telling it to generate mandala fractals made from spaghetti... so much fun,.. If ya want a beta invite let me know, also happy to contribute resources to your patreon for other users.. I have a decent stash of all sorts of stuff

@@TheRoyalSkies Also... yeah it helps..I have heavily focused on blender over the last year n a half or so,.. starting to feel like im intermediateish hahaha learning new software feels like such an undertaking it sorta puts me off.. I dream of a world where everything is blender!
