Zebra finches best finches for beginners.. I have a bunch of these bird and it started from 2 pair. Got them in a pet shop 3 years ago. Love your videos man,
Loving the amount of content lately, brilliant videos, I really appreciate the effort. Thanks a lot Chris , I know it isn’t easy with a young family, mine used to love the hobby more than me🤣
My son bought a pair.. swearing they were two boys.. well I goggle it there's boy "beep" girl "peep" he named them cuz of there noises.. but we've had them for maybe 4 months and we got our first egg yesterday.. I found it in food dish so I made a baby bird box with a little plastic cage we used for bugs , zip ties the cages together and put a lightbulb box over the plastic cage on outside, its working so far, I didnt have anything to start them with surprise of the egg so I put took gauze laid it on all sides of little cage put egg in middle and cut up paper towels and left in cage, well the new daddy Beep is covering egg with the pieces of towel. I was soo excited to see an egg but shocked I thought they were to young to breed but obviously not!! Keep your eye on them! They're cute as heck the past 24 hours from egg laying!!
Nice vid as per Chris. Whilst on the subject of Zebs, I was at a breeders the weekend just gone picking up a few Gouldian hens and a pair of blue Gouldians and I came across a mutation of Zeb I'd personally not seen before. He called them triple orange Zebras, they were a little more pricey than standard English zebs but they had a great size and colouration to them, beautiful birds, not sure if their available across the pond but I'd recommend you see them if they are, knowing you like the big English zebs friend ... Keep the videos coming, very informative for beginners and enthusiasts alike 👍🇬🇧
That’s awesome I have been wanting to get my hands on some. I do know that there are some breeders on the east coast in the U.S. that have them. They are beautiful birds
birdnerd hello! 11:40 I’m also trying to get the one you are trying to get. If you do get it will the baby chick be black then molt into white or will it be born with white feathers?
The cloth is for 2 reasons one it gives the birds more privacy and 2 some of my nests have a gap that the birds can escape from so the cloth keeps the gap covered.
It depends on how big their cage is. If you only have a smaller cage I would only get one pair. If you have a large cage or aviary you could get 2 or 3 pairs
My zebra finches had a baby but it fell out of the nest last week, we’ve put it back and found it on the ground. What can I do? The father seems to feed it still, and I’ve fed it baby food as well. I’ve made a small nest for it on the floor of the cage because I’m scared it’ll fall again if we try to put it back to the nest. Someone please let me know what I can do to help this baby.💖🙏
I have 2 pied zebra finches if I were to get pics could it be possible for you to tell me if male or female one is smaller than the other. I read that band on birds legs will tell the birds gender left for females and right on males. My small one happens to have the band on the left. Noone could tell me what they were in the store
@@birdnerd Not sure, its an Albino Finch (Female i can say 'cos of the pale orange beak) its completely white in color, no markings under the eyes or on feathers whatsoever.
Chris have you ever had the penguin zebra finch mutation there my favorite and there really beautiful. And do you find the show type zebra finch the British ones are harder to breed the bigger the birds get.
Hai My male finches. It is setting at one place & it is not active It don't use & put more weight on right leg Plizz tell the solution to be active 😩😩😩
