The iv and super b do have removable front lens elements that you can interchange with 35mm,85mm,or 115mm lens component. Only the rear lens group and diaphragm stay fixed.
These are amazing cameras! I have two of the Contaflex II. Usually, I find Zeiss cameras to be beautifully engineered, but too tricky to use, but these are fine! Thanks for a nice review!
They really are well-built cameras. I think my favorite is the Icarex model - similar to the Contaflex, but a little more to it. This was the peak of Zeiss technology along with the more expensive and legendary Contax. Thanks for checking out my video!
Not sure about the 2, but the 4 and the Super both had interchangeable front elements. These, "Pro Tessars," had their own aperture rings and came in 35, 85 and 115mm focal lengths. The Compur shutter and rear elements were fixed.
V is for self timer with flash, X is for flash and M is for an older type of flashbulb. From my experience, I tend not to use self-timers on cameras older than 1980 - they are finicky and if they get stuck, it can stop the camera from working/ the shutter to respond.
I just bought the B model and the battery compartment is on the front but can’t seem to fit the battery inside. Can someone please advise me on this issue
