I love this. Link's Awakening is one of my absolute favorites and this track is one of the best in all of gaming.

The ending of Link's Awakening is still one of the hardest moments to get through in the entire Zelda franchise. I really wasn't ready for it when I was a kid and it still really stings 20 years later. This music is still some of my favorite from the whole series and always feels so bittersweet hearing it after such a heavy ending. Thank you so much for doing what you do, this is one of the best covers I've ever heard.

I loved the ballad of the windfish growing up. It felt very beautiful and sad yet somewhat hopeful, even when I was 7 playing it on my gameboy color. I know that's not this song, but they kept the same motif and it's awesome. It's definitely inspired some of my tastes in music and my own writing style for music. I could always imagine how much grander it could sound. You put that imagination to real life and it's making me cry. I love it! Thank you!

Imagine that this cover of the song played as an alternate ending when you completed the game on hero mode with zero deaths. It would show link in the ocean and then a zoom into links eyes and show a memory of link (guitar), marin (vocals), tarin (drums), Richard (bass) as a band playing this song. Then the residents of koholint island would be next to the stage headbanging while the nightmares listen to this banger from the outside of the concert area but concealed so they dont notice they are there. Then a pan out focusing the wind fish egg would happen and you would get back to reality with link on his little wooden plank thing in the middle of the ocean with tears in his eyes but smiling because he remembers all the good memories he had in koholint island. (then this would be an extra for me it would show the wind fish giving link a ride back to land because i don't want him to drown in the sea)
