Eyy, Jan Willem is a blast from the past! Met you both in Amsterdam about 8ish years ago, scarily neither of you seem to have noticeably aged. Such a good evening and both are super down to earth and warm despite being galaxy brained geniuses in their own ways.

You could probably split that up into sections so each hand is doing something different, like percussion and chords, bass and melody, bass and percussion and sound effects. You could get real weird with it, but also massively creative. You know those percussive acoustic cats that play percussion on their acoustic, often replicating multiple parts in the music? An electronic or keyboard oriented person with that same insanity might really like this.

Very fun. Great job making the prototype, Jan. That does seem very fun to make a very tactile midi out of various arcade buttons. Maybe the pitch shifter can be the joystick haha.

i could totally see someone coming up with a device like this that was a small round table with a speaker built in. put 6 of THESE in a circle with all different instruments that only plays notes that work together, then getting a bunch of kids to make music on it. Awesome video!

It bothers me that this has an odd number of triangles per side, so that it doesn't properly subdivide into smaller triangles in the triforce arrangement. A power of 2 would be ideal. Would it hurt so much to add 3 more rows? ;)

This triggered me into designing a note layout for this like it was an ordinary non programmable instrument, because i learned about the bandoneon and its literally random assignment of notes to the keys and since then i always thought i could do that better. And here i saw my chance and came up with this (lets see how this looks in the yt comments xD ) C#7 F#- C#- B- D- D A E E7 8va g g# a b c' eb' c# d e f# f c#' d' e' f#' Upper case letters are chords Lower case letters are notes I promise there is a system eventhough it might not be obvious xD if you map it to the little triangles it reveals an a major scale beginning with and repeating at c# (not in a straight line, the scale has a little squiggle in it), i added the chords i personally use the most (I, ii, iii, IV, V, vi plus the V7 for obvious reasons, the III7 be able to play the dominant in f# minor and the iv because i like that chord) then i had to add the notes f and g to play over the D-, the f is needed for the C#7 as well and i added a c as blue note. Then i used the last button to be bale to make every note an octave higher. Thats my first draft, im thinking about making it a little more universal, because as it is now you would need a button or dial of some sort to select a key to play in (but i think thats unaboidable if you wanna play chords with a single button)

The ocd in me keeps screaming that the bottom row should have been colored differently to better match the triforce. Not too complicated just make it a solid white, or some such pattern, something to give off the illusion of like a foundation or pedestal. A lot better than just chopping off a part which would have required some reworking.
