Zelda Ocarina of Time Randomizer #6: Out of Obligation 

Things That Need Explaining: 1. Twilight Princess randomizer still doesn't exist, and if it does somewhere, it doesn't work well and isn't easily accessible, hence why I still haven't done it. 2. In the playlists you will find randomizers of Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker - multiple seeds each. There are also Mario 3, Super Metroid, and Goldeneye randomizers. More importantly, there are tons of other normal let's plays of other games old and new. So I do play more than just the two N64 Zeldas if you didn't know. 3. This was made out of pure panic at the lowest channel numbers in 2 years and upcoming major medical bills. Doing other games just makes the numbers drop even more, so it's not merely a matter of choosing a game I'd like to play versus one I don't. I apologize for doing this from an analytics perspective. These Zelda randomizers have consistently been the only things to keep me afloat, and since I currently don't have another income solution in these times, this is why I so frequently do them with a sense of dire necessity. 4. I apologize for any lack of excitement and/or frantic thoughts. I am urgently trying to come up with a backup plan, which most likely will be to return to the lifestyle I had before RU-vid was my main focus and source of income.

Damn dude, it bums me out to hear you feel like you've gotta play these under duress. Your Zelda randomizers were my gateway drug to your channel, but I've watched and enjoyed every video you've posted since. I know sometimes it probably feels like someone has a gun pointed to your head-telling you to do more randomizers when your income is dependent on views. But shit, if anyone has been paying attention, it's clear you're increasingly dispassionate about doing more of these and honestly, the people hounding you to do more randomizers have zero social awareness / empathy for the direction you're trying to take things. Play what makes you happiest-that's what video games are all about and a ton of us will be here for it

I just lost my dad and my best friend in the same year, And all of my friends live back in New York, a thousand miles away. I really look forward to seeing your videos whenever they pop up. I hope you keep making all sorts of videos. I don't care about what game, I like Zelda but I really think I watch for the commentary. Take a break if you need to, We all need a break once in a while. If you gotta play out of obligation then you’re not having fun, I love the randomizers because yeah they are fun but the biggest draw is you, love your content and your banter. Just don’t burn yourself out

I've only been binging your let's plays and haven't gotten to the older randomizers yet, and I love them. They're so well done and just chill vibes. Another thing that'll be different about streaming is the fact that you'll have people to interact with in real time! You don't have to come up with all sorts of topics on the fly, AND people will respond to you. It's so much easier

I wish more people understood that this isn't really a let's play channel, it's actually a "listen to Bill talk to himself about the conundrums of life with a video game as a guideline" channel. If more people got that they would realize it doesn't actually matter what he's playing lol

Bill's voice has a lot of character most of the time which is super cool but when he slows down cause he trying to find something to talk about, his voice gets realllllly calming. Its amazing.

It is the best listening to your content--i know a lot of it is more on the melancholy side but its almost a relief to just get to hear someone talk through this stuff. Just had my 29 bday and i miss a lot of the simpler times too. Your content always feels like it talks right to the biggest stresses in my life. Also--if you like the channel boost you get from these randomizers but want something to mix it up, might consider pokemon nuzlockes. They introduce a lot of variety and replayability while also being great for this long form kinda stuff.

I like when you do Zelda randomizers because they are easy to watch while I am at work. I also enjoy your commentary on the videos as well. We will still support you even when you are not doing Zelda games. Keep up the great work!

Love the videos! Day of the Tentacle was really good for those who haven't watched it and i loved your F-Zero play through. Lots of great stuff on the channel and definitely go to his playlists to see them. He has every genre you can think of! Bill is a kick ass guy who busts his butt for his channel

I've had to train myself to not play conversations or scenarios out in my head because it just leads to fixating on things I can't change. It's a lot easier to dwell on past mistakes and regrets than actually learn from them.

Do what you need to do brother! Just know you have a RU-vid family that has your back! We don't want you to go broke trying to make us happy. We want you to be happy!

When I do oot randomisers I always start with the prelude and the ocarina for convenience so I don’t blame you.

re: the idea of going back to a younger version of yourself with your current memories - there're a couple novels that run with that concept; The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North, and Replay by Ken Grimwood. (There's also Life After Life by Kate Atkinson, which has a similar idea but the protagonist doesn't keep her memories when she goes back, she's just reliving her life over and over.) you talking about the concept in the video got me thinking about those books again, and I think it's cool how people can take the same idea and do different things with it. personally I'd hate to relive my life while retaining my old memories - wouldn't school in particular be really boring? you'd be stuck learning all the things you already know. plus you'd be an adult mind with only kids to talk to.

Honestly, I like the Zelda Randomizers because they're clearly a thing to watch more than play, in my eyes. It's nice hearing someone else's ramblings while doing things in the background. That's the main reason I like these long-form, multiple hour length videos, as compared to a single 20 minute video. Which sort of is why I don't end up watching LPs until they're several parts uploaded, so I can just binge. Definitely doesn't help the algorithm though.

You know there are some really cool Ocarina of Time Romhacks that have come out recently if you'd be willing to check them out. Maybe you already have, but the reason I mention that is one of them (The Missing Link) had the bunny hood with the long jump as well. It was really cool to see and that's the only spoiler I'll give about it.

I just want to say that I love your content, even many of the non-randomizers game series and you’re one of my favorite channels to relax to. i always like to theorize why random npcs have what they have in randos. Like what was the Bean Guy doing with the Megaton Hammer? Did he fight along side Darunia in an epic battle against Volvagia and somehow retreated after realizing the true power of the beast after she killed Darunia? Did he take the hammer with him to seek out someone who dared to defeat Volvagia and avenge his fallen Goron companion? who knows??? Dont even get me started with why Anju has possession of Din's Fire 💀

Bill!! In the armos room in the spirit temple where there are 4 armos around a switch, the 2:40:11 mark, run up to the armos, throw a deku nut, then run to the door they open. One will step on the switch when you get to the door! Always love the randomizers!!

I would honestly be tired of these too if I was the one playing, but I honestly find watching your play throughs entertaining, especially your commentary, I may or may not have binged all of your randomizers when I was first recommended your channel

I love these randomizers. The appeal is that it's a familiar game but each video presents new challenges. That said, I have no problem tinkering with things like the Happy Mask sidequests, which are tedious and don't add fun variety. I think if you could find a way to make these fun for you, most people would be on board

It's such a shame and there's such irony in the fact that your most popular content, and the content that makes you the most money is your least favourite to make. It must be such a fine line to walk between your passion projects and things that feel more like work to produce. I watch both your randomizers and let's plays and it's all fantastic dude. I rewatch all the Zelda Randomizers because they’re games I know best and they’re great for background play. The music is so nostalgic It’s hard to watch randomizers and let’s plays of games i haven’t played before without being fully focused! I enjoy all your videos but there’s a reason some of the greatest games out there are your most viewed videos. I’ve watched the sims 4 playlist at least 10 times 😂

I know this might not interest you but you can also get roman's branch of ootr and shuffle all entrances outside their own pools (dungeons could go to grottos) and other advanced warp randomizer options. You probably wont ever do a shuffled entrance run because they can be long and tedious but its just something interesting I've fooled around with personally and enjoyed lol.

I'm that way with music right now, where there's just nothing I want to listen to anymore.

Really sucks that these are your most viewed videos several times over. I recommend his Super Mario Sunshine or his Mystical Ninja playthrough (which is how I came across this channel). Those were pretty entertaining too.

An important thing to note that in a situation like the one at 1:59:21 where you think you can only hurt that deku by using the wooden or hylian shield is actually not true. There is ONE (as far as I know) other thing you can use there. It's the hammer. The surrounding hammer waves can damage it out of it's spot.

Perhaps you could use that as inspiration for stories to talk about during your let's plays.
