Many suns past, Buddha was walking in his garden, when he looked into a pond, past the lotus petals, gazing into the depths of Hell. There, he saw a sinner, Kandata. In Kandata's life, he had committed just one good deed- Sparing the life of a spider. Buddha was deeply moved by this, and so lowered a single spider's thread into Hell. Kandata took hold of the thread, and began to climb. However, when he looked down, he saw that other damned souls had begun to ascend as well. Fearing the thread may break, he foolishly cried out, "No! The thread is mine! Mine alone!" At this moment, the thread breaks, casting all the damned back to Hell.
This is my favorite dungeon of Skyward Sword. I love the story, The Spider's Thread and how the dungeon's design is built around that despite my fear of spiders.
Funny since the underground area of the Ancient Cistern purifies the water you see above ground.. The purple goop in the underground is contaminated water. Most likely contaminated with malice.
@@brandonroque2226The Sky Keep has one room for every dungeon. For the Ancient Cistern, it was the underground section instead of the top. This likely means that the underground layer came before the rest of the Ancient Cistern.
@@scienceuser99it’s likely that the purple goo seen in this dungeon is actually the first appearance of malice/gloom… so there very well could be a connection!
Gloom powers, Malice, Even the Calamity’s body. It all originated from this forgotten, underground prison. A place where the dead seek vengeance, and nothing but a few plants truly live. Sealed away. Not to keep the light out, but to keep the darkness in.
Nice touch considering these area is the cleaning filters of the garden above. No waste just vanishes into thin air. It still exist and needs to be properly taken care of, otherwise you create conditions worthy of the name hell.
It's such a great part when you thought you were done with hell but you have to slide back down the rope. The music distorts and the enlightened feeling just dies. Humbling.
this is theme is just a slowed down version of the actual ancient cistern theme. this underground theme is a little bit disturbing... ...but thats why i like it!
Mentaclink Bro do you even Shadow Temple? That's probably one of the most disturbing places I've seen in a Zelda game. With the blood splattered god near everywhere.
Toon Link I know it's real, I'm just saying if you just heard the description it sounds like some creepypasta oh and the boss is headless and has severed hands that attack.
+ProjectEchoshadow there's also an enemy that has pasty white skin, a bloated stomach, stumps for hands, a long, bony neck and a human head that opens it's mouth ridiculously wide, is covered in bloodstains and is surrounded by several arms that come out of the ground and hold you down while it tries to bite your head off.
I was dreading the basement after I saw my brother do it The rope with the bokos scared the crap out of me And just the entire feel Like It’s a beautiful normal cistern....... Until you discover the basement and wonder What happened to make all these Bokoblins zombies??? Though what did make me laugh was when you descend from the top floor to the basement the entire song just drops Into this one making sound like pure disappointment
For those asking as to why the this dungeon houses such an eldritch cavern system of malice and death beneath the surface... The Ancient Cistern is located in the *Faron* province of the Surface, and which of the three virtues is Faron associated with? It is related to the virtue of *courage.* It makes sense to put such an eldritch location here, to test Link's courage against the terrifying undergound. It is only when Link finally surpasses his courage that he ascends to the top to obtain Farore's Flame, which turns the Goddess Sword into the Goddess Longsword, which grants extra reach and higher damage.
Buddha used to be a prince but he did not want to be a prince And then he meditated and become one of the Hindi gods and goddess Vishnu,Brahma,Shiva,Laxmi,Saraswati, Parvati
