I probably be called a pro-Russian troll but Zelensky needs to alter his war aims and align Ukraine military and political strategy. If Ukraine military is on the defensive and the aim is simply to limit Russian gains it makes no sense to maintain war aims based that require complete military victory. It creates a situation were there no plausible end other than Ukrainian military collapse. Start being realistic in war aims and conscripts can see there fighting to hold the line to strengthen Ukraine in ongoing negotiations, so a conscript can see fighting for maybe six months to help Ukraine at the negotiating table not just going frontline to stay until they die or are seriously injured. What do think the latter will do for morale?

Maybe Europeans are taken for not very smart people?

After listening to the expert Konstantin Eggerts comments that Kharkiv was in 1920 the capital of Ukraine I had check myself. I found no map of Ukraine at that time and certainly no Kharkiv as capital. DW should be more careful with these kind of reports.

What's with the 27/25 year age for the draft? The world armies are peopled by teens eighteen and up. My dad volunteered at 17 out of high school to fight in WW2, I was in the Vietnam draft at 18. Yet the Ukrainians use senior citizens and middle age men in their army. Just seems dumb.

The Russians have a vested interest in this war, because if they dont do it now then they will face a Maidan type coup in the near future 4. The Chinese have a vested interest in this war, because it opens them a direct land route to Europe and Africa, and their manufacturing base gets the raw materials it needs, so they cant be contained by the US Navy. 5. Ukraine have a vested interest in this war, because theres a lot of money to grab for the elites from the aid. 6. Poland and the Baltics have a vested interest in this war, because they want to see Russia going down in flames for historical reasons. 7. The Czechs have a vested interest in this war, because they are the main weapons manufacturers in Europe, who sometimes find 1 million artillery shells around which is for sale. 8. The French have a vested interest in this war, because Russian PMCs stealing their colonies. 9. Germany have no vested interest in this war, but their politics and media is deeply infiltrated by the intelligence agents of those who do.

Zelensky is right on one thing. The West does not have a explicit strategic goal to enable Ukraine to actually win, but rather (implicitly) only to continue fighting. It's time for negotiations.
