Exactly! No quick adjustment, no purchase. It’s unbelievable that brands like AP or Cartier, among several others, still sell watches costings tens of thousands of dollars without it. There’s nothing like having the perfect fit throughout the whole day.
i totally agree with what you´re all saying and it put the finger on what i have been feeling lately, i don´t buy watches that dont have good bracelets. im not paying thousands and it has a cheap feeling bracelet on it, no excuse. espically rolex gets on my nerves. just bad bracelets for no reason
I love the fact they do limited runs. Makes me feel special, even tho they're so inexpensive. Just purchased the Blacktip MOP Teal. Cant wait to receive it.
Makes you feel special when a company makes a plan to take more of your money? 😂 There’s nothing special about a object that doesn’t make a genuine cultural impact. Piece uniques for example are a joke LOL no emotional/cultural value to it.
@@Hialeah1925 I was kidding about the "feeling special ", but I do like having things most people dont have. If their plan is to take $500 for a quality watch for the money that I like, then I'm sold. It's not like a $200k piece unique. Calm down
Ohhhh Zelos. My oh my how beautiful they are. I agree, secondary market is not fun to navigate when comes time to find a Zelos. I'd gather the money to wait for the upcoming/new release anytime. I'm looking forward to reviewing one at some point, regardless of the one on which I'm able to get my hands. That orange dial is spot on! It symbolizes Optimism (at least for me and Simon Sinek!) Good trick about wearing it before looking at the specs. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to do that but, more power to you Peter! 😎👍🏼
Good to see this, I've been tempted to dip back in to Zelos with the mosaic dial in this series. I had a Spearfish...but despite it being pretty perfect, it just didn't charm me... It didn't give me 'the feelng' which was unexpected considering that objectively it was really high scoring in almost every measurable metric. Sometimes it is hard to explain why something connects or doesn't despite the best intentioned research.
Peter, appreciate the review and the great camera work showing the watch in detail. Just managed to grab the orange dial version and looking forward to seeing it in hand in a few weeks.
Thanks, Peter! I bought an Aurora this year. Super well-built. Best winding action I’ve had on a Miyota movement thus far. I find myself gravitating to simpler dial and hand designs these days. Zelos are incredibly good at what they do. In some ways, their ornate dials just don’t work for me aesthetically. I’ll likely have another shift in the future…
Beautiful watch, I loooove Zelos' orange fume dials. Not a gripe, but, as someone who, for years, hasn't been a fan of 3 o'clock date windows because of the impact on dial symmetry, I now find that I prefer them to a 6 o'clock date... and I can't rationalise why. Watch fans really can be impossible to please. Thanks for your excellent video, and have a great Christmas/New Year.
Some interesting details on this one. I very much like the raised marker design of the bezel and the extra detail on the hour hand and 12, 3 & 9 indices. I'm fine with the thickness of the hour hand but my personal preference is for points on the ends of the hour and minute hands not squared off ends. The position of the date window gets a thumbs up but the dial colour and "blacktip" font not so much.
I may buy one , if i can. Zelos are fun , good watches for the money. Really cool how they have nice, different movements in their watches sometimes. Thinking handwind, and auto in spearfish. Great review. Thanks
Thank You for making this brand known. WOW! I think I have a new favorite. I am a date complication type and several of the subjects I love visually are delete of this function. Bummer.
Certainly seems to be well regulated out of the box. I like the fume dial, the bracelet, but I'm not sure about that bezel.....probably a good, every day beater watch.
That dial is beautiful. I’ve been eying this and thinking of getting it, but now seeing the color of the bezel I’m conflicted. On their website it looks darker and it blends better into the dark edge of the fume dial, but in your video it looks more grey. I wish they had made it black.
I don't have an issue particularly with the non-matching knurling, my design issue is with the bezel. It has a very purposeful, industrial look, whereas the dial has a 70's vibe and the indices have an art deco vibe. The latter two work okay together for me but they're a more 'desk diver' aesthetic whereas the bezel looks out of place in this company.
Thanks Peter for this great review. Because of you (for better or worse 😂) I managed to buy this colourway just now! Loking forward to more great videos in 2024 👍🏻
Yeah sometimes I think they could have simplified this, however it has somewhat become their signature. Thanks for sharing Leon..enjoy the break my friend 👍
This new watch from zelos is great. There is not much to gripe about. I personally would have liked to have seen a Swiss Movement as opposed to the Myota 9015, but this watch will sell out anyway. Zelo also makes it in black, which is very attractive if one prefers a more conservative design. Great video, Peter!
I do prefer the OG in any ways, if it wasn't for the ti, the added thickness, the way too big crown, the change of lugs tips to square, the polished hands/indices instead of brushed etc kills it for me. I own the desert sand you reviewed and that one felt special. One of elshan's best design in my opinion, now I dont understand all these changes, could have been just the TI addition and I would have been in.
This watch has been on sale for 8 days and 3 of the 5 colorways are still available. I bought the Frost one myself. It will be my 5th Zelos and it is only the second one I have bought on launch date. They are limited buy by no means difficult to obtain.
@@PeterKotsa I received mine today. Absolutely beautiful watch, exactly what I have come to expect from Zelos. I won't lie though, I am a little disappointed in the included watch roll. Now that my watch is resized for my 7in wrist, it doesn't really fit back into the roll. It is too small. Did you have this issue?
Ahh yes, I had the same issue, it fits, but very tight...I usually loosen the on the fly adjustment to the max setting and then place it in the watch roll...@@stephenn6200
I owned the first addition, and technically it was fantastic. Unfortunately it wore very flat on the wrist, and I believe the proportions were wrong. It either needed to be 39mm or have a 22mm lug width.
The old fear of missing out strategy. I would say there’s a sucker born every minute but these watches tick quite a few boxes for the price. Looks are an acquired taste though.
400 of each colourway this launch. Imagine most of them will hang about for a few days at least. Especially so as this is just a materials change of a previous model.
Love your reviews and content so much ❤️. Do you by chance know when this watch will be released on their website? I'm in love, and am also very sad + annoyed by the super limited amounts released
Generally I suppose that I count myself lucky that Zelos styling is not really to my taste. With the exception of the Nova line, but even then it doesn't stir an urgency in me, I feel like I'm happy letting other people enjoy it. The hype on artificially limited supply watches isn't unique to Zelos. I wish it wasn't so common among the more known microbrands or other tactics were employed to allow more people to buy into and experience the brand. It's great, then, when I can let one pass by without any of that frustration.
The aventurine is stunning but I'm worried about its durability. Probably gonna have to pass on this one. Still waiting on the perfect meteorite dial Zelos to add to the collection.
@@PeterKotsa customer service was easy as it could be, considering he is half way around the world. The replacement has the same issue, and I just didn't feel like dealing with it again. It was surprising to me considering the love that Zelos gets, but I wasn't all that impressed
@@ioanlazar3575 Tandorio diver at 90euro,Boderry at 100euro,Heimdallr at 200euro(which is actually exquisite ).Tactical frog at 180euro and the list goes on.....
Hi, Peter, I´m starting a become sick and tired to see the thmbnail saying the watch is a 70´s or 60´s inspiration... There is no any of a single sign of inspiration to a 70´s watches!!!!!!! Not one!!!!! Regards and love the channel...
The bezel insert is a visual and legible mess, making instant time lapse reading an approximation, with the batons subliminally showing 11 constantly. Bad call Zelos.
The second hand tip has no business to be orange. It looks on the dial like pink looks on coral red. You don't combine two colors of little contrast from the same range, period.
Zelos has not done anything too exciting in 2023. They keep cranking out their staples but buying has slowed down on those models. Also not a fan of Miyota movements.
the clasp is super chunky, i prefer their previous version of clasp. And you need to cut out the stupid filter on your indoor shots, cant even see the colour of the dial properly
