A 16 year old can look like Zendaya. There is a young actress in my daughter's theater class that looks similar. My own daughter's complaint now that she's nearly 18, is that she still looks like she's 12.
She is comparing herself with her 16 year-old self. so she’s not saying all teenagers look like that. I’m in high school some teenagers look like They’re in the 20s some teenagers look like they are in middle school. She’s not saying all teenagers in average.

When you look at pictures of her at 16 her face is noticeably fuller, and her eye lids are more folded, and her eyebrows sit lower. I don't think she's lying, I think she probably believes she looks the same, but the facts are right there in a quick Google search.

I think black girls tend to look a little mature when they're younger... they have more structured cheekbones and whatnot. My 10 year old is as tall as her 10 year old friends but her face has the defined features of a teenager, so I could definitely buy Zendaya as a 16 year old.
As someone who also looks younger than I am, I get the struggle. Yes, it’s advantageous in some ways, but having someone be surprised that I’m old enough to drive is not what you want to hear when you’re old enough to drink.
It's better than hearing people think you look older than you are and you have expectations you can't fulfill *because* you are still young and inexperienced So imo I think it's better to surprise people's expectations (looking younger but being more mature) than disappoint people (looking older but not having the wisdom at that expected age)
I struggle to think of a way it’s advantageous. Like I ain’t an actor in hollywood where half the roles are for teenage coming of age stories lmao. I’m just a guy who wants to fuck and drink and smoke lmao. Which I can do. But there’s always a back and forth about my age.
Actually, I can think of something. People are nicer to kids. I play a team sport, when I mess up my (new) teammates give me a pat on the back and tell me to keep it up lmao. Lmao I guess it’s nice to have support, but then you get the feeling that it’s false support. And you also get 16yos coming up and acting like you’re their age, which can be pretty disrespectful actually. “Teaching” me things I learned at their age. But sometimes that boldness does actually teach me something new. The “buddy” by guys my age or a couple years older pisses me off the most though lmao. He basically said he'd simply enjoy playing the young attractive role while he can play the part, and as he grows older he'll enjoy the rest of the roles life has to offer. Zenday doesn’t look 16 either, but Hollywood likes to hyper sexualize what a teenager, especially girl, should look like. That’s not to say at all she’s not beautiful or youthful looking, but she’s not 16 looking. She’s far more womanly than a child.
There are sixteen year olds who look like her though. Sure, some may look older or younger, but saying she could pull of a sixteen year old isn't completely out of the question. I'd say it's more how she presents herself, she's more open and confident than most teens (which makes sense since she's been doing this stuff since she was a kid).
I knew plenty of 16 year Olds that looked like her, plenty that looked older, and a few that looked younger. I'd say she can **easily** pass for a teenager.

I’m 32 and people think I’m 20-24 and it’s not cool. I have to tell people my age so they’ll treat me like a woman and not a dumb, naive, and foolish little girl. As SOON as I say it everything changes. Their tone, the conversation, the respect etc etc. If I don’t bring it up I get brushed off like I don’t know what I’m talking about and usually hit on in the most disgustingly blatant ways. It’s wild to see how men AND women treat women based on what they THINK their age is.
I experience this as well… and I’m 40. One reason why I’m letting my natural silvers shine now. I don’t mind “looking my age”. I am blessed to have made it to 40 and I am proud of that!! 💖✨
Yeah, when you need the respect of other adults like in a work environment for example looking too young can be really frustrating. People will tell you that you aren't experienced enough all the time.
Its CRAZY how Zendaya (almost 28), Miley Cyrus, Cardi B, Arianna Grande, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Demi Lavato, Miranda Cosgrove, etc are all either pushing 30 or Mostly in their Early 30s. Time really has FLOWN by. I remember them all being SO young & it feels like that was just yesterday!😢
I went on a trip to Miami with a bunch of friends and my boyfriend(now husband). I was a home owner and had been working in corporate for about 4 years. At the airport I was selected for the pat down because my clothing had metal in it. The agent was calming and sweet saying, “don’t worry you’re not in trouble”. I’m thinking, “ wow she’s really nice”. Then she said, “where are your parents sweetheart”. all my friends busted out laughing. My face got so red because this happened in full view of the airport. She said she thought I was about 14 years old. Lmfao almost 20 years later and we still laugh about it.
I keep getting asked for my ID when I buy beer or other low alcohol beverages. You can buy them from age 16 in my country..... I am 26 😑😂 One time the lady at the check out seriously doubted my ID 😂 i mean... Who would make themselves 10 years older?!? 😂😂😂

As someone that also looks way younger than I am, let me say, it’s not fun at all whenever someone knocks on your door that you don’t know & they ask “Hi, are your parents home?”, getting harassed by convenient store workers over my obvious “fake” ID when I try to buy alcohol or when I get “cat called” by middle schoolers as I’m walking to my daughter’s bus stop etc etc etc 😑

30 isnt that old. 😭 why do so many people think that 30 is 50? If you dont spend your entire 20s drinking, tanning, and smoking, you'll look young, especially women. 😭 early thirties and mid twenties dont look that different for a lot of people.

I have the same issue, almost, people think I look younger now at 28 than I did at like 17. I get more people thinking I’m a teenager than when I was actually a teenager.

That was my experience. I had my first child at 25 and scared the hell out of an old lady when my baby woke up and moved in the grocery store. She thought he was one of those dolls the kids use for class in high school. I had my third baby at 29, and a Walmart employee reprimanded me for having so many babies "so soon". I said, "I'm nearly 30. I'm not sure when you think I'm SUPPOSED to have them!" But then mid-30s came. Yikes.

Still a big gap though, since the character was supposed to be 15 when she died. She's now going to be 60 in a couple years. I love these guys chemistry they interview so well together and seem like theyre so fun together. Reminds me of Zendaya and Timothee or the Tom Holland Spiderman trio. I teach at a school for 12-15 year olds and when I started one of the other teachers mistook me for a student. I was 26 at the time. So yeah, I know the feeling.

Some people just have this mature look through out their lives ,like Angelina Jolie when she was a teenager she has those sharp eyes and sharp features like her jawline even . People with sharp features when they are young look the same and grow into their features but slower.
She said she looks the same way she did when she was 16. And she actually does, if you look at her throwbacks over the years, she hasn't changed much or even at all.
