when black Americans say, zendeya is black, us fans in the uk are literally confused, because she dose not look black, and I dont believe she went through the majority of interactions in her life being perceived as a black.
@@anaedgar9369 She has already acknowledged that she is very much a “palatable black”. (What I mean by this is having a certain privilege over others because she is on the lighter side of the spectrum) She identifies as such and she has a black father. Being black is a spectrum there is no right or wrong way to be black so of course everyone is going to look different. I’m sure in many situations she gets the favorable hand because she doesn’t look obviously black. But if she identifying as black because she is then the way people perceive her is not really her fault. We already have a colorist problem in our community but at least she understands. There should be no more confusion! 🤗
How I love Zendaya! I got emotional when she said that women are everything to her! This moment when she find out that Stormi was crying and she huged was so adorable for me! Like said she is phenomenal! Zendaya became my idol! I'm like then years younger than her and I really need to have someone like her and a hug from her!
Yes, technically, they are both biracial - but culturally, they identify as 'BLACK!' You can be biracial and still call yourself "black," if you care to - there's no rule here. You do not have to be of a darker hue in order to be firmly considered as "black." The VERY notion alone is deeply absurdus and damn offensive. Enough! #BlackLivesMatterInAllShades
@@JudgeDredd_ So, are you saying that these two women are not or have not experienced discrimination?! Again, I come from a mixed raced background: I have seen my light-skinned cousins get treated like shit, much like the more darker-skinned people in my family. I don't get the real point behind playing "the struggle olympics." Perhaps, you should look into therapy? I know I have - it has truly helped wonders. Just sayin.'
@@rieyenviyells7822 Nah I'm great, but thanks lol. No, I didn't say what you said in your response. I don't know how you got that from my comment? What I said is, there's a _difference_. The difference is, when my super dark black self stands next to you, *You* get the benefit of the doubt. It's that simple. It doesn't mean you don't experience racism. I don't know where that extreme thought came from? Things don't have to be so polarizing. I simply said there's a difference. The difference I'm talking about specifically is perception. I wasn't trying to be dismissive, I was trying to let you know that despite you knowing someone who's got it bad or this or that, there's the SHOCK test: Let's let you and I stand next to the Entrance/Exit of a store with the alarm going off. Would you bet everything you owned on me being accused first over you? Just keep it 100.
@@rieyenviyells7822 What’s the difference? The difference is me getting shot based on my looks vs you walking out of the store with the stolen goods without even getting looked at. That’s the difference.
Sweet babies. Please be happy for as long as you can. That is our wish for you, the reason we march and protest. Love you black baby sisters. We love you ♥ x
