Create as many Lightning gems as you can without detonating any power gems
Another 40-minute Eclipse run? No way!
Not only do you need to be careful not to accidentally trigger a Lightning gem, but you also need to avoid creating Flame gems, which is easier said than done. The colour pattern also isn't there just to look good, it helps with focus and minimises the chances of an accidental triggering
The strategy consists, like many other Eclipses of this kind, of two phases:
- Phase 1 (up to 24:28): pile up Lightning gems while being careful not to set them off or to create any Flame gems
- Phase 2 (until the end): prepare the board for a final move that will get you extra Lightning gems
Phase 2 is rather tricky and quite scary, as it happens entirely as the board is crammed with power gems that you crucially do not want to match, and yet, you need to create the setup for the final move that will give you those extra Lightnings. You also need to make sure that every 5-match you make in that last move has at least one normal gem in it, otherwise it will not count towards a new Lightning gem. I actually did not think of building this setup as I was creating the Lightning gems, maybe it would have made things easier, but it is far from certain considering it also depends on the colour of the normal gems you still have. I also decided to stop piling up Lightning gems after 48 because at that point I judged it to be too risky for a first video. So this score can still be improved a bit
After re-watching this, I realised I forgot to move that green gem out of the way at 24:28, so RNG could have screwed me up there. Something else I could have done while I was piling up Lightning gems is change the pattern a little so that there is always a matching move on the board, for example, by moving the red Lightning from the 6th column to the 7th. That way, AHM would never have had to generate matching moves, which in turn would have made the RNG tamer
