This how making a smartphone review should be, not those who just want to be the first to upload and get views for the sake of being first, frkn annoying.
Not to mention those who almost sound like a 10 minute commercial (most likely due to said rushing off content). When I look up content from independent content creators, I don't want to hear about all the great features. I also want to hear about the annoyances, drawbacks, etc so I can make an informed decision about what phone to use for the next two years. A big thank you to HWC for doing really good reviews!
I'm still using my Zenfone 2 too Some apps are lagging, but what can you ask from an Android 4? Overall, my baby is still kickin' although it has more than 3 years
I am still using ZenFone 2 Laser. I have dropped it several times, even on concrete. It's still working and screen hasn't shattered even without case or screen protectors (The gorilla glass does indeed work). Thanks to custom Roms. I can use Android Pie on this. And day to day tasks are smooth. Only thing that failed is the battery(I had to replace it).
Im watching this on my 2 year old Zenfone 3. I plan to buy zen 6..but still thinking bout the fliping cam sound. Is it annoying like Wall E robot or not?
My Asus zenfone 6 had a motherboard failure within first month of buying and now not getting updated via the Zip update file.🤔 This phone has been a headache for me, and not even completed 50 days with the phone.🤕🤦🏻♂️
I've had mine for about a week and love it! The display is smooth and crisp. The phone has plenty of power. The battery life is surreal. And the flip camera is actually very practical. I love taking panoramic shots now because the camera rotates out and does all the work for you.
i loved my Zenfone 2 also,ui to me on the Zen2 was much better after deleting bloat,had it for almost 4 years,just ordered this Zenfone 6 today,would be still using it but had a bad drop and have had to use a borrowed Iphone last monthish till re-stock was back in on the official site,+ i doubt ill toss out my wired headphones ranging $35-800 for wireless plugs cause my phone cant connect via BT(current thinking on the Zenfone 7)plus i have an early 2k car so no bt ,aux in is via 3.5mm but that expandable 2 tb of mem ummm
Asus has really killed it this generation. Definitely buying. It is the most complete smartphone in its niche. And is also quite innovative with that flip camera. Its exactly what i've wanted forever, high quality selfie camera.
a snapdragon 855 256gb storage 8gb ram 3.5 headphone jack and most importantly a durable LCD display not like those phone who uses oled display which have a shorter lifespan and full of burn in in the end this phone is perfect and durable
Man... your camera work is absolutely stunning I forgot what's the video about. You should make another channel teaching about camera or filming. You can include the behind the scenes of this channel.
The under screen fingerprint sensors might take space away that they could use for other things though. Not to mention they are less secure than a normal capacitive sensor
@@KyleRectify yeah I get what you mean. I'm not a big fan of in display fingerprint readers but a high refresh rate display would be amazing. Having used a 7t I can tell you it makes a HUGE difference
Thanks for reminding me about this phone. Keep in mind, it doesn't have any water resistance. If the Zenfone 7 adds an IP rating, and a 90Hz display. I won't even need to consider at Oneplus or Pixel anymore.
I got an old zenfone 4 with 5000ma battery and this phone changed my mobile life. The massive battery is game changer, I think having a phone that could last for a whole day is A LOT more important than camera quality, screen refresh rate or if its foldable or not. Once this phone retires, I would never buy another with less battery performance.

Hi Guys I am using Asus 6z(6gb & 64gb) from past 2 month 1. Call volume is really not good (hope asus fix it with updates soon) 2. Battery life is awesome 3. I am loving the flip camera 4. Value for money & If any1 planning to buy it go for it you will not regret!!! HardwareCanucks Nice Review!!
Grab a Nokia, they are better than Iphone, Samsung and easily as well made as this if not better. Plus Nokia refuses to stop using the Corning Gorilla Glass which is by far the toughest on the market. Add to that the fact that Nokia ALWAYS uses Zeiss lens for their cameras. Even better, their flagship is only about 600 bucks.
Still up and running perfect after many months daily use. Just love this Asus Taiwan phone. But sadly i will not buy anymore electronical products if they are put together in Chinas mainland.
I'm watching this review on my ZenFone 6. Also yes, all listed points are true. I had to buy Bluetooth headset to mitigate the speaker problem (it got better after few updates, though)
Man Ive been using an iPhone 5 SE for years now (from when Apple wasn't evil) and I've been hoping for a notchless, headphone jacked good battery life large Android phone to turn to in the future when this one stops working for me. I didn't care what it would take to get a notchless phone even if it meant no selfie camera, but I wasn't expecting a motorised flip camera to work so smoothly! I didn't think there would be anything like this on the market, but now I know there is and its not $1,000, in fact its half of that! Great review, thanks for putting in the time to really understand the nuances of such a great phone.
I have been using this phone since it was launched. I absolutely love it ! The battery, the camera, and the screen ( It still is excellent even though it is a LCD panel ) its just perfect. Asus have created a banger with this one.
there is a unique feature of this phone that other phones lack. the flip camera fuctions as a camera stand. so that you are able to take timed shots easily without assistance from somebody else. the only thing i personally dislike about this phone is the huge size. difficult for one handed usage.
I've been a satisfied owner of Asus Zenfone Maxpro1 that's why I'm interested with this model. I found some brand to be overpriced for a CP. In fact many CP owners are paying extra specs which they don't need or they are not using. This brand and model is very practical.
Totally agree, making phone calls with this phone is quite irritating, my chin always touches the screen when calling and i get muted, but the battery life is so frickin insane, i have never reached below 15% battery after an entire day of use. One thing i really hate is how bad the "night mode" on the camera is. It is litterally 0 difference between normal photo and night mode...
I really like Asus they provide essentials in reasonable price. My zenfone 3 5.2 is still working so well, i don't feel the need to upgrade. The fingerprint sensor is still snappy and i did not experience any lags. The battery still gets me through a day with minimal use. When I upgrade my money is still going to Asus.
In less than 3 months there was approximately 5 updated by Asus. The headphones that came with the phone did not support calls, the opposite party cannot here you. The flash does not work after the 4th updated it had become inconsistent after 3rd update. Not impressed.
A zenfone 6 User here. One thing I would Like to point out is the speaker actually is inside of camera module (you can flip the camera to self mode to see there a hole cut out behind the camera module). That speaker opening on top of display is nothing more than a hole , just let sound pass through. Therefore, on 2:41, your statement for speaker is misleading.
I used to be a hardcore Zenfone fan. Used 3 variants of the Padfone and 2 Zenfones. Few things to look out for... They have quick charge but works only with the original brick. You can't buy another brick, no easily at least. They don't stock parts. I broke the screen on my last Zenfone and they had no parts for it. I had 3 more months of warranty but nothing was offered to me. No repairs, no replacement with a similar unit, nothing. Asus warranty sucks balls.
I'm from India.I am using this phone for the past 2 weeks....I have been replaced it twice. I have a continuous restart issues frequently I just fed up with the product is this happening only in India because in Asus forums there are too many complaint. Any other around facing same issue... I loved it but this issue making me mad.. I regret it
PAVISH MP perhaps maybe You are one of them ...lol just kidding . Since you got one of the 9% bad quality phone from Asus I believe your phone is still under warranty so Asus will definitely take care of you .
ASUS has been killing it with their phones lately. I have their mid-tier model Max Pro M2 and for my casual user case, it's an extraordinarily good deal. I'm gonna keep this one for a looooong time.
So essentially all the initial issues you mention at the start are solved in one fell swoop by a headset of any kind to use with the phone. I can't even remember the last time I lifted my phone to my ear and talked into it.
Interesting that it's apparently cheap for you? I haven't been able to find it for much less than $1000 AUD, which is close to the same price as a Pixel 4.
If I was in the market for a new phone that'd certainly be on my list. Lack of a headphone jack is literally a deal killer. However, I bought a Nokia 7.1 earlier in the year and have been happy with that, and it's even cheaper :)
Really wish phone companies would stop making huge ass nearly 7 inch phones. If i wanted a tablet id buy one..im looking for around a 5-5.5 inch phone, any recommendations?
Thanks for the update. still not in launch in the Philippines, maybe because of its hard replacement for hardware if ever it gets broken?. But still got my eyes on it. Can you still not use 2 cameras in video mode? It is a complete phone! it got all I like in a phone except for the, the headphone jack, front firing speakers, almost full display, 2 dual sims. I love it. I just still am skeptic with the flip up camera. If they could have stayed a dual or triple camera case together but stayed at the back, then lowerd the screen a little, to put the lower bezzel on top and put a camera setup on the sides like a pixel 4. Then there would'nt be any motorized cam. All in all. That would be the best! ^_^ Again, keep up those videos! ^_^
This is a lot closer to where OnePlus should be going. Take away the curved corners, make the screen 90Hz & add a better camera - you'd have basically a perfect phone.
This is my FAV phone this year. I dont have a need/budget for buying a new one or else I would've definitely got it. it is between this and the NUBIA X / Z20
Watching this on my Zenfone 6 :) I don't play mobile games. Only using this for taking photos, checking social media or emails, listening to music and sometimes watching some RU-vid. For my usage the phone can easily get me three to four days battery life. That means the battery will last longer due to fewer cycles. I had to charge my phone every day before. Now I don't need to which makes my life so much easier. By the way, Asus are pretty good with their updates.
I think it's ridiculous that people care so much about screen to body ratio. The bar up top doesn't matter much to me. This phone would be perfect if it has a normal front camera. That way it's fast, great battery, and I can protect it with a beefy case. It'll last forever and suite my needs.
Where did you guys find the prices for this phone that you have mentioned in the video? All I could find was Staples and they sell it for CDN$799 for the 6GB/64GB version.
What is the software update policy for this phone? The update policy should be included along with the specs. If the manufacturer does not have one then state that fact in your review. Hold the manufacturer accountable.
6z...even with ois op7 can't match 6z eis...idk why..op7 should have been the winner..but it's not...but ONLY FOR VIDEO RECORD...go for iphone...by far the best
I remember back in old days, when using 7inch tablet full view without front camera (cheap one), thin bezel people say ugly, now full view display are beauty....people change haha
The one thing that turned me away from this phone was that it doesn't have wi-fi calling. I get terrible reception where I live, so I have to have wi-fi calling. Such a shame that such a common and easily implemented feature was withheld on this phone. Went for the OP7 pro instead.
The views of recent videos have fallen quite a bit. Is Hardware Canucks slowing down ? I think the upload cycle also has become less frequent. Hope everything is well.
Bought a zenpone on August 26 2019. Repaired 2 times in the past 2 weeks. No sooner had they repaired it than it was out of order. Went back this morning as cable was not working. Offered them cash for a new cable. Answer: run out if cable. Told me to go back a 4th time next week。after 1st repair all photos in the phone were wiped out. Maybe my fault but who would expect a carefully used phone goes down in 3 months! The service if not the quality sucks. I have receipts and everything to bear out my claim.
The Asus 6z's auto panorama camera cannot capture the ceiling fan rotating. The wires between the two power poles also shoot broken. Refund or Replace Request in flipCart is canceled in the long run.
I love mine but with the magnetic part you cannot use a case or stand that has a magnet as it scews with the camera flip mechanism, I almost returned mine as I thought I had broken it. DO NOT PUT ANYTHING MAGNETIC ON THE BACK OF THE PHONE!!!!!. other then that it has been great. This is the first phone I have owned that I feel safe about gaming, streaming and listening with out having to worry about the killing the battery before the day is ended, Even With Bluetooth turned on, it has lasts.
I wanted to get this phone, then I saw the Asus ROG Phone 2 which is basically this phone but better, but I urgently needed a phone and ROG 2 wasn't coming out until a few months, so I went ahead and got a OnePlus 7 Pro, because I was already on OnePlus and I can't really leave 90Hz OLED for an IPS Now I don't regret my choice at all, 7 Pro is a great phone, but the ZenFone 6 still looks crazy attractive to me. I still miss expandable storage and a headphone jack, and I just learned that it has an FM receiver
I've previously been a samsung user, my wife has my old phone now, but what I've noticed and like the most is that I get a much stronger signal on the Zenfone 6. I live in a poor reception area and still get reception when others are struggling or have none. For instance I get 4 bars while my wife has to go upstairs and stand by the window to make phone calls on her samsung S9 with the same sim card. Has anyone else noticed the better phone signal on the Zenfone 6.
Dang if that Zenfone was a bit smaller (not a phablet man, I'm a one-handed user primarily), and had in screen fingerprint (I intensely dislike rear fingerprint), it'd be VERY compelling.
@@mcslender2965 what do you do if your phone is on the table? But more generally, not everyone hold the phone in a position where your finger lines up with the reader, so that's why I don't like it. I think wireless charging would be nice, but it isn't a make or break feature for me. Only add it if it won't compromise anything else.
@@james_nolan does it shrink it to make it physically fit in my hand more easily? Fit in my pocket easily? I just don't care about it being bigger. I see no benefit. Only downsides. Except perhaps battery. But tbh under 4000mAh hasn't been an issue for my last however many phones, so that's a moot point to me
@@tarfeef_4268 here's the counterpoint: What if you are reaching for the phone in your pocket and wants to unlock it? You can pretty much unlock it by the time you pull it out of your pocket instead of holding it right after taking it out. Also all the current in display fingerprint sensor is not perfect. You either deal with burn in for optical or just general slowness of ultrasonic comparing to capacitive. Plus it requires an OLED screen which drive up the cost.
