Excellent analysis! I've had lots of fun trawling through the 'freakout' reactions, but this is a nice counterbalance to that. It's so interesting how she uses misdirection, confusion and threats to squeeze information out of her target. Part of it is things we're privy to - going along with the male pronouns - so we understand she's lying; part of it is, like you said, the threats we're not sure whether she'd go through with. Does criminal psychology let her predict that the Hollow Raider can move her thighs aside in time, or was she prepared to shed a little blood? I can't wait to go through her trust events to learn more about her.
She is easily one of the most intriguing characters in the game just cause I feel like I have a strong grasp of her character while also never truly knowing what she’ll do.
Thanks! I really appreciate hearing that. Though I’m happy with my own content’s quality it is always nice to have confirmation that other people actually enjoy what I’m doing.
I haven’t done any playthrough videos recently just cause they take the longest to edit and have generally performed a lot worse than my other content among a few other reasons, but if I think that there’s enough of an audience to be worth the effort I’d definitely do more! I am working on some non-reaction content in the background right now though so look forward to that whenever I finish it.
So, from what I’ve heard, ZZZ is Hoyo’s experimental/R&D team. This means they have far broader freedom to break away from Hoyo SOP. This is why we’re getting furries, Ben and Lycoan. Robots, Billy. They also means they’re far more adventurous in marketing. ASMR trailer? Foot fetishes? Grace for the purists and Jane for those who prefer stockings.
That would make a lot of sense, seeing as they’ve also done more unique stuff like music videos for some characters or the recent short animation Jane got. It makes me excited to see what other “experimental” stuff they do in the future.
I think this is a sequel to the “Under Arrest” trailer. The radio mentions “8 gang members and their female leader” she knows there should be 9 and they didn’t say 2 females, then she gets the phone call. When she gets the call it’s likely the person in the chair. The reason for the interrogation is that the amount seized doesn’t match up with the amount promised. So Jane needed to interrogate the courier where the remaining goods are. This courier isn’t aware the Jane is the “boss” and Jane has nothing to gain by divulging it. The courier doesn’t recognize Jane as part of the gang, so Jane was probably disguised around her. Another point of reference from the last trailer. Her prehensile tail seems to be unique since the other mouse thiren doesn’t seem to be able to do it, nor does the police cruiser seems to be equipped with a prehensile tail as a threat. You have full androids like Billy, so a cybernetic tail sent a huge stretch.
Your point about her tail actually makes a lot of sense. On your other point, It’d be really cool if this is connected to her teaser but I feel like there are just too many things that don’t line up for me. The main thing for me is the end of this demo shows Jane personally taking down a group of thugs that are implied to be part of the same gang as the woman Jane’s interrogating, on a quick review I counted 9 people Jane defeats including the woman she’s interrogating. Unless I counted wrong, that wouldn’t add up correctly to match the numbers of the gang in the teaser which was 9 including Jane. On top of this, the teaser implies that the other gang members were arrested by PubSec after Jane was “arrested” which doesn’t line up with the demo having Jane on her own taking down the gang members guarding the shipment unless somehow the gang from the teaser is secretly more than twice the size Jane thought it was, plus however many people are involved in the next shipment mentioned by the woman being interrogated. I could mention a few other details that don’t line up fully but this is already getting long for a RU-vid comment so I’ll stop here. TL:DR I would love if you were right about the connection to the teaser, but I don’t think it does.
@@SylvanGilmour the implication with the ether smuggling gang was that is was a major operation. I never really bothered with the thugs from the red scene since they were all generic mobs save the courier and the one guy who blew up. Note the beginning of the “Under Arrest” trailer, she wearing a red wig. The reason the courier took so long to recognize Jane was because she was in disguise. It wasn’t the red tips of her hair that blew her cover, it was the tail and knife twirl. It may not have been animated since there wasn’t a 3D model of her in disguise Now that we have access to her “cinemas”, we know she struggles with her morality and identity. “Look into the abyss, and it will look back at you” is a persistent theme with her. Because she’s studied criminal psychology and been undercover, she blurs the line of doing the wrong thing for the right reason. She may have been tempted to cut out her eye and caught herself
Really good analysis, something most miss is when the screen goes black you can hear fabric being moved, most likely she ether blindfolded or baged there head.
