Congrats. You got pushed to me by the algorithm lol. I've been waiting for the game to come out so I can try it. Hoyo really does put outsome quality games, even if they are gachas. But when I was playing Genshin, I was surprised that the game was as free as it was given the quality. I'm on Honkai Star Rail right now and I absolutely love it. I've been of the mindset of a gacha should only get my money if it deserves it and Hoyo games typically do. If you haven't played other Hoyo games, it might be worth looking into Genshin, Star Rail, and even Impact 3rd. They're all made with quality care it seems and have vastly different gameplay types.

8:26 hoyo rates are standardised across the board. They don't magicly change. As for the charcters being well developed storywise... that's how they make money. If you look at revenue charts, you quickly relaise that the bigest spikes in revenue happen when the most plot relevant characters come out. There is no genra of live service game that values it's characters as much as this. Monotisation isn't realy something you need to worry about at long as you can accept only geting like every second S rank. Hoyo is super casual oriented so the main story content is go be more than doable with just the free units (hell, you can look up a youtubers like Mistafeet or Moosashi who do it with just 1 character) so all the characters you get beyond thqt are going to be becaude you like them. You can look up stuff like "the song burning in embers" or "Kyoden: A Cleave Across the Transient World" to understand how hoyo is making people whan the character of the character.

As hoyo gacha games go... When it comes to pulling characters Its usually a thing of time vs money You either have one of the other You log in for like 10 to 20 mins everyday to get the premium currency and then go about your day (Other sources being story quest and end game challenge content ) In terms of gacha you are guaranteed a 5 star featured character once you hit 70 to 90 pulls Essentially you'll be strong enough to beat the end game content given enough time even if you are a f2p

There are hints of a Main antagonist in the main storyline but players won't notice it easily. The mystery box they had to get in the beginning is mentioned again later during the moment when Koleda remember the day that her father disappeared. I won't explain what happened during that moment but this event is the first hint into the Main Antagonist of the series and starts providing a connection towards a bigger picture about what the Hollow is and why the Hollow appear. Not to mention build up a reason for each group to work together with each other.

Love the video, seeing the perspective of some guy whose never played gacha games playing zzz is fire Just a side note: Generally playing gacha games goes through 3 phases: > Lots of loot and materials > "Oh no, i ran out of mats, how do i get em?" (you grind them via dungeons and whatnot) > Endgame content (just depends on the game, is usually just increasing challenge or grind)

As someone who's been playing Genshin and Star rail pretty much since they were released, I'll say that HoYo games are generally very free to play friendly. There really isn't much content in these games that can't be completed with just the free units they give you, so pulling for new ones is purely from liking their designs/character. Furthermore, they're also pretty generous with how the gacha works and the amount of currency they give out, it's very much possible to get any character you want as long as you're able to save. The gacha rates and mechanics themselves are standardised across all HoYo games, so ZZZ is gonna have the exact same system as Star rail.

Mihoyo really growing I remember playing Honkai Impact 3rd for the first time around 2014 Sakura Miko was my favourite Valkyrie and Kallen Kaslana man now they make such good quality game

I'm really glad you got over your misconception that because Hoyo games are gacha games that also means they're bad games. Because I personally I think they are really good games. I can't in any way defend the gacha system in of itself but the games they build around it are brilliant games story and gameplay wise. I personally again am even inclined to spend money because the games are so good and I can play them without spending a base amount of money like normal games. I also am really looking forward to playing ZZZ. Sadly I didn't get into any of the last 3 betas, but it's great to hear that you enjoyed it and I can't wait to see more videos from you. Great video! It was really cool seeing your perspective as more of an outsider to Hoyoverse games and how they made you feel. I agree with a lot of the things you said because even though they are gacha games I feel like Hoyoverse games at least give you the quality to justify having gacha in the game and since it's free you don't have to spend a cent on the game if you don't want to. That's why I still play Hoyo's games and it's cool to see other people see it's appeal too. Looking forward to more content!

I love the MC concept in this, being the "guy in the chair" has always been really cool to me. Plus, it's nice not to have another self-insert.

Welcome to the world of gatcha

As someone who plays both Genshin and Honkai, there should be plenty of opportunities to grind and get currency to pull for any character you want. I have WAY to many hours on Genshin and I was able to get 500 summons without spending a dime by just playing the game (granted this took like 6 months to get). It really depends on how lucky you get with pulling characters and if you are just waiting for one specific character or want everyone character that gets released. If you want every character that comes out then you'll probably have to spend money. I will say though, I have not been as excited as I am for this game for any other game in a long time and I can't wait!

Hey, I’m all for you getting into the game and all, but this IS a gacha game. If you’re not really a fan of those types of games I wouldn’t really recommend getting into it. I think the gameplay is good, and I think that the character design is lovely; however, if you don’t like gacha games for what they are, and for what they represent, I wouldn’t get into this game. Once you run out of content you’ll be left with nothing but daily commissions and gacha. I personally like the grind, but that’s also because I’m a gacha addict. If you’re someone who seriously doesn’t like gacha games, I wouldn’t make an exception for this game

I recommend going back and giving Genshin and Star Rail a fair shake if you enjoyed ZZZ this much. You'll find that Hoyo does not skimp on World Characters and Story, regardless of the title. You can beat all the content with default Characters and ones you get with free currency. Nothing is gated behind limited Characters.

The only way Hoyo makes you spend money is by creating characters that you fall in love with and profiting off of the FOMO that you feel. The stories are usually very good. And if their team is as generous as Star Rail's, you likely won't need to pay for anything to pull for characters that you love.

I'm so hyped for this game. The gameplay was what attracted me the most and I'm dying to play and give high parries. The only thing that bothers me so far is that none of the Agents made me want to pull for them, not their gameplay but the character itself, I feel like they lack charisma. See HSR or HI3, all the characters are excellent and make you want to get them, even Genshin at its launch had many good characters, but this one... I feel like they lack something, a sparkle perhaps.

If you want to see another gacha game that has the same feel in terms of it's gameplay, here are two of them from my choices: Honkai Impact 3rd. A hack and slash game, from the same developer as Zenless Zone Zero. The game itself is pretty dated if you tried to looked from its early characters and gameplay, but the more you progresses into it, the more of the games polish you will see. It excells the most in its story as well as their characters design and development throughout their journey on the game. This game is the foundation of what Hoyoverse (the name of the company) has become on its later games. Punishing Gray Raven: This one's from a different company called Kuro Games, it's also a hack and slash games in the same way like Honkai Impact 3rd. Although more younger than HI3rd, the early games of this one is also kinda dated, with later parts of it polished. Besides the stories, PGR is also polished in terms of its gameplay that focuses more on the player's knowledge and skills rather than theit characters rarity. Not knowing the mechanics of the game or not learning the movesets of the bosses will results in you getting one tapped by the enemies in the game, so if you want to utelizes the plus of your high rarity characters, you gotta learn the enemies first, otherwise you're getting clapped. The gacha in this game is also, surprisingly, felt too generous at times to even be a gacha game (it's still gacha tho so, take that what you will). Overall, these two games are i think would be the ones that you might like to try to review, as they're basically a culmination of what gacha games of the same genre as ZZZ can offer.

Yeah.. that “gatcha” label surely sounds bad in general.. but don’t get fooled by it, you can find bad and good games in this genre as in any other.. and hoyo in particular is doing same really good stuff; I played Genshin (open world actiony rpg with elemental reaction based combat) and Star Rail (more linear, classic rpg with turn based combat) by them, they are both really good, with fun gameplay, interesting mechanics, good story, characters, design and art style.. and you don’t necessarily have to spend money on them.. I’d recommend both of these games if you haven’t tried them yet.. And also Wuthering Waves seems not bad, if you want a Genshin-like, but with a more mature art style and a more action gameplay (fast, with dodges and parry, instead of elements and synergies).

If you liked the gameplay of zzz then you should try honkai impact 3rd they both focus on gameplay alot in a god way

I feel like hoyo games are always very f2p firendly, 500hrs in genshin and 300hrs in honkai and never spent a single penny. Look at leaks to help you have time to save up for the characters, get farmiliar with the pity system, and you should be good.

The thing is... we all know how easy Hoyo games are. So there will be only a slight chance for non casual players to have something to do... so yeah... You dont even need to "not buttonsmash" most likely. Also: The fact that you can not run around with the units you got outside of a mission is just a very poor choice. Also: The TV thing seems so annyoing and boring, they probably make it much less annoying really fast...so why not removing it in the first place? Also: If you have played any game in this genre...you start to see how basic these units are for what the game should be. But yeah...the animations on the cutscenes are so cartoony and smooth. THIS is the main selling point for me personally.
