best thing about hoyo games imo is that they kind of made the pity system a stable standard for any gacha now , which is great, you always can guarantee your character with simple planning,and there's always a nice amount of currencies given per patch ,in every hoyo game, they never rely on the cheap tricks of crazy impossible percentages ,and the quality is amzing as well, hoyo gachas don't feel like they're trying hard to make u spend, everything is doable completely f2p,and you got a free amazing qualit game to enjoy, would love to see give genshin another try❤
i got bored of it because i don't like turn based gameplay, but i wont deny it probably has an amazing story, unfortunately, ill just have to miss out. too bad... Anyways Genshin is soo good, i love it more than so many other games and its probably one of my favorite games ever. and i don't even play games like this, i usually play racing and survival games, but Genshin is something else. its great.
I recommend going back and giving Genshin and Star Rail a fair shake if you enjoyed ZZZ this much. You'll find that Hoyo does not skimp on World Characters and Story, regardless of the title. You can beat all the content with default Characters and ones you get with free currency. Nothing is gated behind limited Characters.
Mihoyo really growing I remember playing Honkai Impact 3rd for the first time around 2014 Sakura Miko was my favourite Valkyrie and Kallen Kaslana man now they make such good quality game
Actually, you can only get a few characters. There's like 10 you can get always 5 or so rotate every 3 weeks. It's the same for Genshin Impact and probably ZZZ
Yeah.. that “gatcha” label surely sounds bad in general.. but don’t get fooled by it, you can find bad and good games in this genre as in any other.. and hoyo in particular is doing same really good stuff; I played Genshin (open world actiony rpg with elemental reaction based combat) and Star Rail (more linear, classic rpg with turn based combat) by them, they are both really good, with fun gameplay, interesting mechanics, good story, characters, design and art style.. and you don’t necessarily have to spend money on them.. I’d recommend both of these games if you haven’t tried them yet.. And also Wuthering Waves seems not bad, if you want a Genshin-like, but with a more mature art style and a more action gameplay (fast, with dodges and parry, instead of elements and synergies).
HSR is actually objectively the best game hyv has on their roster atm. amazing story, amazing polish, revolutionized what a turn based game can actly feel like. amazing cast. GODTIER ANIMATIONS that youd be shocked to even come out of a free game. great optimization for even lower end devices. great voice acting direction. so much rewards. like heck we even got a free S class 5 star no wonder genshin fans r salty. the game also respects your time and effort that you invest into it. hope you keep playing! lookint forward to your reaction on penacony!
As someone who's been playing Genshin and Star rail pretty much since they were released, I'll say that HoYo games are generally very free to play friendly. There really isn't much content in these games that can't be completed with just the free units they give you, so pulling for new ones is purely from liking their designs/character. Furthermore, they're also pretty generous with how the gacha works and the amount of currency they give out, it's very much possible to get any character you want as long as you're able to save. The gacha rates and mechanics themselves are standardised across all HoYo games, so ZZZ is gonna have the exact same system as Star rail.
As someone who plays both Genshin and Honkai, there should be plenty of opportunities to grind and get currency to pull for any character you want. I have WAY to many hours on Genshin and I was able to get 500 summons without spending a dime by just playing the game (granted this took like 6 months to get). It really depends on how lucky you get with pulling characters and if you are just waiting for one specific character or want everyone character that gets released. If you want every character that comes out then you'll probably have to spend money. I will say though, I have not been as excited as I am for this game for any other game in a long time and I can't wait!
Welcome to the Hoyoverse, hope you were planning to stay here forever. Good time to start too, I believe this is the last version you can claim the free Dr. Ration on. About story: For all that has happened in the story so far (and it's been great) I don't feel like we actually know that much more than you yet. The connection between HI3 and HSR will mostly express itself in more or less obvious references but so far there hasn't been anything you won't understand because of it so nothing to worry. About gameplay: For playing the story your party choice is more or less as free as you want it to be (following a few basics ofc). What characters you pull for most matters once you get to the endgame modes (Memory of Chaos, Pure Fiction and a new one releasing next patch). There are very dedicated people that are able to do incredible things with just about any character but on average this is where your choices matter. At the same time it's not really worth it to pull characters you aren't interested in just for endgame, the return on investment is non-existent. About music: There is the saying that 'Hoyo is a music company that happens to make games' and you have already discovered the reason. Look forward to great things as you play. Also, it is worth checking the music for all their games even if you never intend to play them. About gacha: So far we have consistently gotten enough pulls for 1-1.5 five star characters each patch, it's not too bad if you don't intend to spend anything. You just need to have the patience to save for two patches and then wait for your desired character to come around. There is rather noteable powercreep, something that doesn't make me very happen; so far no characters have fallen into an unusable state but if things continue as it that is only a matter of time...
Yeyyy another Hoyo Game. I love Starrail. The newest story (Penacony) was incredible. The best story in Starrail yet and if you already love the story at the moment I'm sure that you'll love the later parts. Another inherrent thing that you didn't touch upon in the Video is that gacha games often have limited time events and then the storys for those events just vanish after the time is over. Luckily Starrail archives the story events, small events where you only fight stuff still vanish after their limited time but the big events with storys stay for everyone to play. Of course you wont get the same amount of pull currency/rewards anymore as if you played the event while it was in it's "limited" phase but you still will obtain rewards including for example light cones handed out especially in that event or customazations for your chat boxes or phone background ingame. I love that fact and I loved this video and hope you have fun continue playing Starrail.
@@ItsAceWing Yep Honkai Starrail wasn't my first gacha and coming from Genshin where I only started 1 year after release and knowing what story important events i missed... that really kinda sucked. So I'm really happy about the feature in Starrail so you never feel that much fomo of needing to catch up because you don't miss anything essential. Yes you do miss out on some rewards, but to be fair early on you get sooo many rewards from Quests and all the stuff you can do, it doesn't really matter at that point to feel fomo for those limited rewards
My favourite of the standard 5 star characters is Soldier 11 from an aesthetic point of view not gonna lie. I like her goggles , I like her airstyle and also her dress.
I'm so hyped for this game. The gameplay was what attracted me the most and I'm dying to play and give high parries. The only thing that bothers me so far is that none of the Agents made me want to pull for them, not their gameplay but the character itself, I feel like they lack charisma. See HSR or HI3, all the characters are excellent and make you want to get them, even Genshin at its launch had many good characters, but this one... I feel like they lack something, a sparkle perhaps.
- Nicole's B-tier for me. Her design is the pinnacle, but then I saw her personality and voice, and it's like 🙄 - Corrin will become A-tier when the full game unleashes her inner menhera - Soukaku is an oni (JP ogre-demon-thing). B-tier. Her whole squad is JP mythological creatures; her faction leader is the katana-weilding fox-girl. _She's_ S-tier - Grace is S-tier until she starts to talk - Soldier 11 is D-tier, considering the competition. ZZZ's all about style, and she's got none. - Von goes from A-tier to S-tier when I see his combat animations - Alexandrina and Ellen are *both* S-tier and my love of maids is completely irrelevant
Honkai impact 3rd is always hoyo's forgotten child 😂 I'm glad you enjoyed the beta tho. I love all the hoyo games and can't wait for this one to come out
The only way Hoyo makes you spend money is by creating characters that you fall in love with and profiting off of the FOMO that you feel. The stories are usually very good. And if their team is as generous as Star Rail's, you likely won't need to pay for anything to pull for characters that you love.
Plenty of side quest. I played the game without any spoils or how-to's. If you knew how to get to the unmoored world. Either you save scum each ending or got there by "chance" which would be rare since you missed an entire village.
The thing is... we all know how easy Hoyo games are. So there will be only a slight chance for non casual players to have something to do... so yeah... You dont even need to "not buttonsmash" most likely. Also: The fact that you can not run around with the units you got outside of a mission is just a very poor choice. Also: The TV thing seems so annyoing and boring, they probably make it much less annoying really fast...so why not removing it in the first place? Also: If you have played any game in this genre...you start to see how basic these units are for what the game should be. But yeah...the animations on the cutscenes are so cartoony and smooth. THIS is the main selling point for me personally.
Feel the same for u, Ace. The other Hoyo games didnt hold up fir me. Interested in this one even though I missed all chances for the beta. A bit a criticism to help you tho hun; dont think "succede" is a word.. :c Sorry!

@ItsAceWing hehe I don't chase constellations. Don't make enough for that unless Hoyo suddenly wanted to let me be a content creator. I do however at least like to have the base character to experience their unique playstyle. The others entries seemed to predatory for my style. Hoping this one will be different.
I'm really glad you got over your misconception that because Hoyo games are gacha games that also means they're bad games. Because I personally I think they are really good games. I can't in any way defend the gacha system in of itself but the games they build around it are brilliant games story and gameplay wise. I personally again am even inclined to spend money because the games are so good and I can play them without spending a base amount of money like normal games. I also am really looking forward to playing ZZZ. Sadly I didn't get into any of the last 3 betas, but it's great to hear that you enjoyed it and I can't wait to see more videos from you.
