Zenyatta walked off the trailer at mid-day at Churchill Downs after flying in from California on November 2, 2010. She was greeted by hundreds of press and fans.
Thank you so much for this video, I love Queen Z so much, but mainly what I love about her is how her owners the Moss's and John and Dottie Sherriff her trainer, who have kept her spirit alive on her blog, simply always put her first in everything, if it was going to hurt her, they backed away, I love everyone that has been around her because you helped put her in the place she ended, first. I love her and all of you, Michele.
WOW!! so much...er...toxicity!! I can't see how anyone can 'hate' a horse. they are managed by human beings! At a time when all of racing is under seige, with poor marketing, smaller & smaller fan base, Zenyatta served to raise the profile of the sport world wide. For that she, and her people, should be thanked. She was well trained. I have utmoset respect for how the Mosses handled her career. She deserves to be rated w/ the best of best. I think the Biscuit & Big Red would love her.
Did you see her when she heard the cameras start to click. I guess Secretariat wasn't the only one who knew when to pose ! But I also read the great ones know they're special and know why the cameras are there.
@championsofeurope21 Nah, she wasn't adequately prepared for the dirt kickback in her face. It upset her and she refused to get involved early. Yet she still got within inches. If Quality Road doesn't back up into her at the head of the stretch, she gets there. That's the curse of the deep closer. She was much the best horse, but in horse racing the best horse doesn't always win.
hang in there, breyerhorsefreak, i wanted a beautiful horse too, and wound up with Suddenly Available, who has 14 legendary quarter horses in her first five generations. she's currently pregnant by cutting horse and barrel racer Jaz Buenos Noches. if you believe, wonderful things will happen.
