Just to say you can get Matterhorn Glacier Express, called the slowest train in Switzerland, from Matterhorn to St Moritz passing through some of the most beautiful scenic places in Switzerland. This is like a sightseeing train going slowly deliberately for tourists to enjoy the scenery with glassy ceiling trains enabling panoramic 360 view, and more luxury upgrade possibilities onboard.
Went here back in December of 2018, It easily the most beautiful place I've ever been. Watching the sunrise hit the top of the Matterhorn is an image ill take to my grave, cant wait to go back someday.
Hi. That's really great to hear! I also really love Zermatt, although really commercialized it still is very stunning and there are still enough spots to enjoy without any crowds. I will definitely try out the lake reflections :)
@@connorbarnes9051id highly recommend alpenlodge which is where stayed, 10/10 with a view over the whole town and a perfect view of the matterhorn, quieter part of town too
man Italian Alps have highest peak in alps and they are more lively and Italian food!!! just awsome, sorry to say Swiss peoples are robot. they just wasted my 7 days in Switzerland, after 7 days I moved to Austria it was fun. and next year I was in Italy it was like in heaven. but nothing is better than Japanese Alps, Rocky, Andes or Hamalaya. first two for skiing and last two for climbing or tracking. Japan is in shouth compared to europe, but they have most snow on the earth.
Hello, how are you, the video is extremely helpful, thank you! I want to ask you, I am planning to visit Switzerland in January, but I don't know which date is the best, is it from 10-20 January or from 20-31 January, I want Switzerland to be completely covered in snow, and I want to see heavy snowfall, I really wish to see the snowfall! And skiing and winter activities, which date do you recommend in January? Which period is completely white and it snows heavily, and one last question, suggest me some cities that are very charming, completely white, mountainous and rural? Thank you and I hope for a reply😊
Hii. Im fine, and you? Thanks for your nice comment. I recommend you to travel from 10-20th as it's low season and you can enjoy Switzerland probably better. Snow-wise it should be the same. Having snow up in the Alps is though always a game of luck. Mostly there is snow, but we have had seasons like last year or 2015/2016, where there was just no snow. Completely white cities do not exist in Switzerland; the highest chances to have a little more snow would be in St. Gallen: I else recommend you my Top 10 Cities Video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SqgphzH7-jI.html

Hi. Thank you very much. Happy to read that. I am now on TikTok. It's also DjemoGraphic. I have someone who runs the page for me. The videos that are posted on TikTok are however all taken by myself.
Aloha Anne. Than you so much for letting me know that you enjoyed this Zermatt Episode. It was my greatest pleasure to produce this video. I am happy to show you this beautiful place, but you know, you live in a true Paradise too. I visited Hawaii in 2006 and it was unforgettably beautiful, O'ahu and Maui.
Amazing videos! We are going in Dec. Any recommendation what kind of shoes and jacket you used for winter? Not sure how cold it gets in Switzerland. Please!
Hi Rochelle. Thank you very much! Definitely wear clothes to withstand temperatures down to -15°C. Mostly it will be around 0°C but you never know. Buy winter shoes with a good profile to not slip on the snow or ice easily. Thick gloves and sunglasses are highly recommended. The UV and the bright snow are dangerous for the eyes during the day.
Wow! This makes me even more excited and looking forward to my upcoming trip to switzerland this friday. Will be staying in Zermatt for the first three days and the various places you've recommended, we will also be going :D Thank you so much for explaining so clearly in the video @Djemo Graphic
Hi. Thank you. I think there are beautiful villages everywhere; we just need to find them or learn to appreciate them :) Switzerland is known for its village tourism; when I do research about other countries, I find many great villages too. I guess you are from the USA? There is Aspen that is a very beautiful winter village, I went there in 2001.
Hi. I think Summer, in particular August is good. Then also September, it's still warm and the views are good. Also, you may be still able to go for the hikes. During October, you will have the golden larches, certain hiking trails are however going to be closed till Summer in the following year. November is a cheap month but certain things will be a bit tricky: Please watch my NEWEST VIDEO for that. December is Christmas season. End December to End February are peak season. There will be a lot of snow. February is really good! There are hotels that cost 120-150. CHF a night, cheap ones. Most hotels are 150.- CHF and above. Cheaper might be a stay in Täsch. Dining costs 20.- CHF for one meal and above. Usually between 30-45 CHF.
Hi. Thank you so much for your nice comment. Daytrips to Zermatt are great, but I am sure you will enjoy staying there overnight for about 2-4 days even a lot more😊
Hi Janus. Thank you so much for your comment on this video. Yes, Zermatt is soooooo beautiful during Winter. I am sure you will like it a lot during the cold season :)
Hi. Thanks for your comment. Ya, stone paving has really its charm. In general, in the old days, I think traveling was more raw and also the glaciers were reaching down much further
I have been to Zermatt a few times and can say it's a magical place. Anyone going there please down a beer for me in the Brown Cow on the main street. (Bahnhofstrasse)
Amazing view. Beautiful hotel as a sponsor. Glad you enjoyed Zermatt. 5 seenweg hike & the reflection are really worth it. Thank you for bringing back my memories. Dear Wolli, take me back to CH:)
Zermatt is indeed a beautiful place. But you forgot to mention that the price structure in Zermatt is sometimes dramatically too expensive. The tourist is really ripped off financially and with full intention.
Hi Pluton. Yes Zermatt is very beautiful and it's among the most expensive places to visit in Switzerland. It's the free market that decides. As long as people are willing to pay these prices, the prices will be like that. Good example is Mount Pilatus, where they have reduced the ticket prices by 15 CHF (I think it was 15 CHF).
@@DjemoGraphic I totally agree with you, but there was also a time when they didn't act according to economists and simply applied a dramatic price premium. That's what I meant by that. Especially in the 1990s, I think they exploited that particularly shamelessly. Today, you can find out about prices via the Internet very well. At that time, unfortunately, it was not so possible.
Zermatt was where I learned a whole new hatred for the Chinese tourists I experienced. From trying to eat a meal and them acting like social media morons. To them destroying the tranquility of the area with their loud annoying presence. It makes sense that the Swiss created trains coming out of Interlaken to the Eiger that are Chinese only, trying to keep them away from ruining the experience for other visitors. I have learned to call them out with their rude behavior and not letting them get away with it. I learned that from friends who are Hong Kong Chinese. Give them an inch and they will take the situation a mile.
Just 2 people for the day, no overnight, you can drop 2K for a day trip to see something nice, but not breathtaking. Banff is breathtaking. So in this town you drop 2K for the joy of having no car ( AKA , No shelter). Walking around to see the most contrived looking town on earth. No wonder Europe has so much social upheaval, everything is so expensive and yes you have a lot of social services , but most things I prefer to decide, not have the government decide for me. And I am A liberal.
There are also cheap places to visit in Switzerland, not any less breathtaking. Maybe you want to checkout Grimentz or Emosson Dam. Nice is also the Lötschental with its unique culture. About the latter I did a video.
hi Bernardus. thank you very much! i took this video by drone. thus, there is not exact photopoint to stand at. but if you are curious what place it is that I show its around Alpenlodge Zermatt at Zer Bännu
Rothorn is much cheaper. But please check if on the day you intend to go up, whether you may reach to the top. It's not always possible. But you always can go up to Blauherd.
Hi. That's actually great to know for me! So, means that my video is being found also even through this way. Thank you very much for letting me know! I hope you have enjoyed the video? Have you been to Switzerland before?
Hi Nirmala. Thank you. It's really beautiful up there. I am really happy to read your kind words. I will try my best to further impress you with new videos :)
Can I use this video elsewhere? I will mark the source and author, not for commercial use! I personally hope that the author's such a good video can be seen by more people
Hi the Halb-Tax (or in English Half-Tax) Ticket costs around 170.- CHF for one year. With this ticket all train and bus rides will only cost half of the price, i.e. be 50% cheaper. It is also valid for certain cable cars and funiculars. I think it can be also purchased by people who do not live in Switzerland. Of course, the Half-Tax pass is only then useful if you are spending more than double its price in one year, up from then you would be starting to save money.
I am unclear on the price to get to the top of rothorn? how much does it cost to get there if the return ticket is 60 franks? and can you ski down from that location seen in this video at 4:14
Hi. A ski pass to my knowledge costs around 90.- CHF a day. It covers all lifts in the resort. For going up to the Rothorn as a pedestrian, you pay ~60.- CHF (the amount might be higher now compared to back in early 2021). You can choose to hike down, but to be honest, it will take forever. Thus, in Winter, the only ticket for a pedestrian making sense is a return ticket.
Hi Michael. March is peak season for skiing. At least until Mid-March :) Hope you will have a great trip. I am going to post more skiing videos up from October :)
Hiii. You should! Just plan your trip properly. You may want to consider staying overnight near but not in Zermatt, in order to save money. But maybe there is also a hostel that will cost only around 40.- CHF. In general, I can recommend staying in villages or towns nearby the cities, in order to cut the costs. I hope you will have a great trip in Switzerland.
Hey.
What dates did you travel to Zermatt ?, I would like to bring my family from Australia to see the Snow and enjoy the amazing places you have shown us, but I also dont want to get caught up in peak tourist season. I would really like to hear your suggestions, and thank you for such a great video of Zermatt. We really enjoy watching your channel.
Hi. Thank you very much for your comment. I went in End-February (peak season). I suggest to visit instead during early or Mid-January. There will be enough snow but also less people. I hope that helps!
Hi. I use a Sony a6500; it's now 3 years old and might be outdated soon. But back in 2018, it was a very good camera. I always add the equipment I use into my video descriptions.
AND IT IS ALL IN VR TOO !!! Yes, Google has shot the entire region in 3D which is further enhances with many thousands of 360 degree photos which can be viewed from inside the VR headset too. Climbing the Matterhorn in VR is special. And so is getting to see the insides of all the cliff side rest stops going up and down.
Hi Patricia. Yes, it's a great time to visit Switzerland. Christmas markets everywhere (see my Top 5 Christmasmarket video) and Zermatt has usually snow (unless if December is very dry). Make sure to book before Christmas day, after Christmas day it gets very expensive (peak season).
@@DjemoGraphic Hi Djemo, thank you for your reply. My family and I are looking forward to visit Switzerland this Dec or in 2023 during autumn season. Your video on the golden autumn was awesome and beautiful. Thanks
Hi. Thank you! That's a great idea. I will try :) I guess it's mostly walking around but I will check with museums etc and try to make a travel guide :) cool idea!
Great video, amazing editing. I am looking to travel to Zermatt in November and my flight has me landing and departing from Geneva. How do I plan travel from Geneva to Zermatt and can I book when I arrive or should I book in advance? Thanks again!!!
Hi Sean. I always would book things in advance. Whenever you travel. Else, you may not find any hotel and be unable to realize your plans/travel goals/dreams.
Christiania Mountain & Spa is run by the extremely friendly and helpful Franzen family. Maybe the best bang for the buck hotel in Zermatt with its spa.
Very cool Amazing area and amazing filming Are you going to provide us with your great film from top for the city of Annecy in France ,it is my favourite place
Hiii :) Hehe, glad to hear that you like Zermatt so much! You definitely should consider traveling there. The village might be very crowded but if you know where to go, you can escape the crowds easily :)
Its different. A visit to Zermatt is primarily for seeing the Matterhorn or skiing in the worlds largest resort🙃 Aspen and Telluride look also very nice😍 Since you are from the US (forgive me if I am wrong), its more convenient to visit these 2 places, as you would not have to travel too far. Thank you for naming these 2 places, I might consider to visit either of them, as I never tried skiing in the USA. Since its in the Rocky Mountains, I even might have passed or stayed at one of them back in Summer 2001 when I was a child. Did a wonderful camping car trip from Colorado to Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon down to California❤
HI Yasin. Thank you very much for your amazing support and many comments. Do you think it would be possible to put them into a single one? It's easier for me to answer to all of your questions in that case, which I am always happy to do.
Hi DJEMOGRAPHIC! I really love your videos! In fact before we go somewhere I always make sure to check your Videos for possible destinations’ thank you so much for showing us around! Stay safe Greetings - MAY
Hi May. Awww thats so nice to hear🥰 thank you for considering my recommendations😊 and i wish they will be helpful in your planning. Hope u will always have great trips🤗
@@DjemoGraphic thanks! Its really highly recommended! We were suppose to go to Corripo this weekend but sadly we hve to cancel.. thanks! You too! Safe trip always
