I personally use zerodha and if it's not for individual discipline speculation will continue......... But as an platform it never promotes anything....... Kudos zerodha.

Zero brokerage is good for small investors who buy a few numbers of shares every now and then. Brokerage of full-service brokers is really high for small investors.

Thanks Shyam Sir for sharing all the details.. I think we should recognize zero broking really disrupted the broking industry and made stock market trading affordable for everyone.. Its not fair to blame them competely, I think they did more right thinga and few bad things

For a disciplined investor and with small corpus amount, zero brokerage service is good, but he / she should have nil temptation towards speculation... It's really tough, only a few can do.

Speculation can be done in all kinds of market condition. It will work on bear, bull, sideways market. But investment will work only in bull market condition. I know speculation require lot of skill everyone can't do it successfully. If everyone become investor how full time broker will earn? 2ndly if everyone become investor, everyone will be buyers, there won't be any sellers unless they have money need. So it's irrelevant to talk about zero brokerage. Market will function only when all participants are active. It includes speculators too. Else no transaction will happen.

I wont complain about their charges. but Both Zerodha as well as Upstox are not stable enough... they fail at critical times, and their support is Zero .... both brpkerage and customer support are Zero ...

Yes. Sharekhan is good. But how can you compare a company providing services to 30 lakh people with another company providing services to more than a crore people. Also note that sharekhan active users is only a few lakhs.
