Zero Hour: Jim Raynor Flees Mar Sara on Hyperion Running from Zerg Invasion (Starcraft 2)

The stolen alien artifact was transported by truck back to Backwater Station. The trip was uneventful despite fears of Dominion pursuers. The Raiders' timing was impeccable. As they neared Backwater during the night, zerg spores began landing at the abandoned dig site. The infestation spread rapidly to the outskirts of Backwater within an hour. Pockets of Mar Sara Separatist troops desperately held out in hope of relief. The Raiders immediately requested support and evacuation from their mobile base and headquarters, the battlecruiser Hyperion. This is what I loved in Starcraft II. Good action, lore, characters, excitement. The missions are short, no need for more than it has to be. The mood is just so amazing.

@TheVoiceOfTruth If you wanted plan old RTS combat play a skirmish, Blizzard went out of their way to make the campaign feel unique

@TheVoiceOfTruth what are you talking about. The original starcraft was the same. You unlocked new units for each levels as you progressed in the campaign. Later in the expansion broodwar it became more different and SC2 campaign even allows you to use units that aren't in the regular game

Tychus must have been so easy to write. The character description they gave to the script writers probably read: "big convict who acts like a big convict, doing convict-like things. Only speaks in cliches. Always smirks as though telegraphing his eventual treachery"

Love the introduction of the Battlecruiser in this mission. Shows you what it's capable of, obliterating pretty much the entire zerg offensive single handedly.

a behemoth class battlecruiser is 7 miles long. A 7 miles long floating gun with even more tiny guns on it, and carry a small army with it.

@@acedeci4560 A minotaur battlecruiser is actually 991 meters long. A behemoth is a whole different story. Somewhere a bit larger than a minotaur, in my own thoughts it's somewhere 1200 meters long or more.

This mission reminds me of a certain "survive for X minutes" level in the original starcraft. Lots of buckers and turrets in that one too.

Same. Both you also have the option to go on the offensive and wipe em out. I haven't tried going on the offensive in this mission yet .

That one in the original I think was the first type of mission with that sort of objective. Other types (build this, save these guys, destroy a base) were already in warcraft. That, instead, was something entirely new.

I remember first seeing the Queen of Blades in this cinematic after over a decade since Brood War. At the end of Brood War, Kerrigan annointed herself as Queen Bitch of the Universe. I literally still get chills when she makes direct eye contact and the camera cuts. She really lived up to her title after all those years.

I believe he helped the evacuation. I mean there a side mission where you need to help citizens and troops to evacuate, there even some civilans in your base as well

he gathered as much stranded colonist in his region before taking off (the optional objective)
