Thank you rita, great format and contact , I do appreciate that it takes time for you and your team to provide such a nice lay-out with subtiles that come in really handy for us learners. Keep up the good work . Ian From France
One thing that might be nice is to have English subtitles separated from Chinese because otherwise its hard to only focus on the Chinese without seeing the English ( maybe English on top and Chinese on the bottom)
congrats! felt quite motivated after watching another success story with teacher Fan 💪😊 What also came to my attention is that Ace seems to have a very positive attitude towards life, and who knows, maybe enjoyment is also one of the 'secret ingredients' in the process of the efficient language acquisition
Getting 2nd place in a national competition in just 3 years?!?! That's pretty impressive. I wouldn't even be able to get last place in a speech competition after 3 years, lol. Congratulations to Ace.
I'm always happy to see people getting attention for their hard work, and I don't want to take away from the fact that these people deserve to be proud. There are also many many many other people learning all languages that are not associated with specifically a business interest that aren't gonna ever get the attention or recognition. And I'm not talking about myself, infact I hope this may be where everyone I'm talking AB comes to the front. However there are people out there who have nothing and no one to support them or make a video for them that have had to see death Infront of their eyes and would still do the hard work regardless. You should always feel proud for working hard towards something, you should also remember the footsteps on the path you now walked, was walked by many who got nothing.
Hey Rita or anyone reading this. I’m participating in this years 汉语桥 (中学生版) and I need an idea for my speech. My cultural talent demonstration is 包饺子, but I haven’t decided what to do for my speech. Any ideas?
Not sure why it's necessary to sound native Chinese. Many many people speak perfectly fine English but have an accent. In fact some native English speakers have accents that are incomprehensible even for other native speakers No doubt true for mandarin as well.
The goal of learning a language is normally to be able to communicate with speakers of the language. The closer your accent is to the accent of the person you are speaking to (or to other accents he is familiar with), the easier it will be to understand. What's the point of learning a language if people have a difficult time understanding what you say, or even fail completely to understand what you say? That's the purpose of accent reduction.
Hi Rita sorry for the silly question, but does registration for your intonation boot camp close at the beginning of the 1st of April, or does it close at 23:59pm on the 1st of April? I'm considering signing up but because I'm busy with Easter celebrations this weekend I won't really have time to consider it fully until Monday- thanks!
I don't understand why you don't include soft subtitles instead of the chinese+pinyin+english thing... It would literally be less work on your end to produce more effective language learning material
Exactly! I requested it so many times but neither Rita nor her husband ever did it... that`s a pity because I`m a great fan of importing the CHINESE subtitles into reader software like LingQ. Usually, I automatically quit when a Chinese channel does not do that or there is English speaking/explanation and I often recommend those RU-vidrs to go watch Dashu Mandarin or Li Can Easy Mandarin to see what an ideal Chinese channel for learners looks like.
Good pickup! Tones are one of the biggest challenges for me. Just comes back to my message in the interview though, don't be too afraid of making mistakes, go out there, dare to speak, and have new experiences!
