We finished the Mercury 1.1 conversion about a month ago in this stream we will be moving on to the Hydra conversion. This will convert the printer from a single motor cantilever bed to three motor with bed tramming.

While I am extremely interested in this build, I cannot commit myself to watching a 4 hour video (or even a movie for that matter, the LOTR movies were really testing me) on any subject. Would you mind condensing this video down into something that can maintain attention levels??

So you can confirm that if I intend to go Mercury One.1 Hydra that I should just build a frame to the appropriate size? There doesn't seem to be a reason to buy a Creality to "upgrade" at this point?

Question: Could you print the parts out of Nylon instead of ABS? Just curious as Nylon may be a bit more resilient than ABS

Nylon typically has much more flex than ABS. There are different types of nylons so there may be some but I’d probably do a nylon carbon if I was going that route for added stiffness.

Great video Mate . I have a used Ender 5 Pro that I am converting to the Mercury One.1. Hope to build a Voron 2.4 and the Mercury One is a great gateway to having the skillset to complete the more complicated Voron. Suprised Zero G didn't design it with an enclosure in mind. Seems like a lot of effort to build such an awesome printer and then be limited to printing PLA!

That is a very common practice for manufactures in the PRC, its a bait and switch for quality then quntity.

Some Creality models do use Meanwell, I recall seeing it in a review but don't recall which it was. Probably availability driven. At ABB we sometimes used SIEMENS power supplies, our biggest competitor, in our chemical analyzer systems lol.
