Realizing as I've grown in the hobby, theres things I didn't notice or appreciate when I first started watching these videos, so lately I started watching some of the older videos from Reefers I'm subscribed to. I'll admit your frogspawn is what intinally got me interested(as euphilyas were my first favorite coral), but after just watching a video Jake Adam's just did on Goni's then coming here, I didn't remember you having one in the 45. I've only had 1 early in my first year but it slowly faded away. Have you had much luck with them and either way what did and didnt work for you?
pulsing xenia is one of my favorite corals, spread extremely fast though. I keep it in a low flow spot in my tank and it continues to pulse beautifully if you would like it to pulse more, lower the flow or change the area that you have it in, those things will thrive with barely any water flow and poor water quality I love them!!
After posting last night that I was going to try Brightwell Neonitro, I couldn't find any at my local stores. After reading a lot of forum posts and using an online calculator, I bought the stump remover today, mixed up a batch and put in 10ml. I can get very impatient, but plan to take it slow and test each day.
How come you frogspawn is not as green as it once was in some of your earlier videos? have you changed how you edit your videos, I also noticed your nem is stinging the frogspawn which is looks to be why the 2 heads at the bottom are not opening up much. could be time to move the nem on or drop the salinity rapidly and back up and force the split. this is how one of the chaps in the uk gets his bta to split. any news on the bigger tank?
My xenia started to look sad after fitting a skimmer to my little 35g long and stayed looking sad for over a year until I started to use carbon, once I started to use carbon again I noticed the skimmer was producing very little so I removed it and Everything in the tank has looked a lot better since and there's still no noticeable levels of nitrate or phosphate with my test kits.. Even my sps growth improved 🤔
so a year later, what are your thoughts on this light, I'm looking at purchasing the 48 from BRS, its gonna run about 700 after-tax , very few lights out there have sunrise/sunset mode and i just love the sleek design
This looks so t5! really crisp and color pop but no shimmer at all. Cj reviewed it toop and commented on the lack of shimmer! I dont get why either. Its basically a puck style not like the wider spaced lenses in the black box or even photon, so it should have shimmer, i just found it from china for 80 buks cheaper than the shops here that on a 24 inch so the bigger ones even more savings. Ilike everything abou t this light but dont know if I can handle no shimmer, and I am not a kessil big shimmer person. I would use a diffuser on most bt do like a little bit other wise really looks like t5!!
Just ordered a 40g IM fusion tank, upgrading from a fluval eco 13.5 is daunting. any help you would give. have had a salt tank for 9 months now. Love the videos, wish my tank will look like that in the future
Congrats on the upgrade man; if at all possible run both tanks at the same time and only transfer things over once the new tank has finished cycling, that would be most ideal! 👍 Also I’m a believer for MarinePure Block/Spheres/similar products for best bang for space for bio filtration

@@InappropriateReefer I'm a couple weeks into nitrate dosing (stump remover). I'm still keeping the nitrates in the 1-8 range though and not going very high. No negative effects and some positive - palys, zoas, gonas have opened more. I also dose for Kh, calcium, and Mag. I plan to keep dosing pot nitrate.
I just find it hard to believe that something that dissolves wood could be good for your reef tank. Just my opinion. Brightwell makes a nitrate dosing product. I would dose that.
Thad Sandcastle yes most likely if the Xenia is not pulsing it’s because it’s is getting the flow it needs. Xenia pulses because it’s releasing it is not a filter feeder. So if the movement is good enough it doesn’t need topulse.

My Bi-Color is my favorite fish. Lately he likes to knock hermit crabs and snails off the rocks that come near his hole. He is so funny. Funny I cut a monti a while back and put a Frag near his main hole. He nips it often. I need to move it. I don't mind. I love my fish over some coral. Blenny are so full of personality.
@@InappropriateReeferAwesome! Can't wait to see a video on this. I've read that you can put a 1 month supply in a doser. Anything beyond this would require cooling due to bacterial growth.

This is the crispest color pop tank I have ever seen in white, besides the cheap pop bloom! I was goingto order these because thy looked great on brs video and they are the cheapest lights inthe store but then I saw it only 90 watts! How in the world are you getting this par out of a 90 watt? One thing I dont like is the placement of the leds! Like why bnot space the two out a little and not have them crammed inthe middle. One other thing, they though smarter when they made the 48 (which is double the size) they have 3 sets! Its crazy twice the size but 3 times the lights, whats even crazier is itr says wattage is 180. How can that be if its 3 times the lights? I was so mad at that fact I said hell no. I will just wait for the reefbreeder photons tyo come in and then I saw this video. Ilove this look inthe the daylight! Night time more blue and I love that accrilic light up bar! so cool and these are 369.00. Xenias dont pump always or better, they adjust to their flow! Hard flow less pumping, low flow hard pumping....if they stop at all = iodine level is super low...
Nem is beautiful. Your tank looks awesome as usual. This is pretty simple though. I'd try dosing (live) phytoplankton several times a day. Maybe you could automate that?
