Thanks for still talking about the zv1. It still gives us hope to those off us who are using this budget starter camera. What are you using for your a-roll? And the cable that you are using to charge the zv1 with the gimbal is it a micro USB to micro USB like to zhiyun crane m2 or is it something else?
Hi Louis, is my pleasure to continue to talk about the ZV one. It’s one of my favorite cameras. I’m using the 87S3 for my a cam. The cable that I am using is a USB-C to micro USB. It comes with the M3
Fave part for me was the lens flair under the train, you totally nailed that. And the pan around the lit trees, that worked out perfectly. Thanks for so many tips in one short video.
This video answered every question I have concerning the M3 and the ZV-1 with all its accessories! And as a bonus, it also charges the ZV-1 - wow! And nice sequence as well!
@@thefilmalliance Wow it charges the ZV-1 does the Crane M2 do that as well? I think the M2 has has an outlet too and we haven't used it cause we don't know what it is for. Definitely getting that Arca plate with your affiliate links. It is such a pain to handle the Zv-1 with the wide angle Ulanzi on the Crane M2 it takes us forever to stabilize it and it's handle isn't the best. Haha we love the name change thanks FILM with Joe Alliance. That new crane is pretty awesome we can't afford it right now but we will look into selling our M2 and possibly getting this one at some point in the future.
"I'm film with Joe alliance" 😄 (when you were on the roof) Also, liked that clip with the cars driving backwards at the end. Nice video, I'm liking that gimbal and the footage coming out of the camera was nice. Thanks to you and the other reviewers, I just ordered a zv-1 and am looking for inspiration on how to best utilize it and maximize its capabilities. Thanks for all the excellent content!
I'm so glad you did a video with the ZV-1 on a gimbal! I'm still waffling between the ZV-1 and the ZV-E10. I really just want something easy to use and not have to fuss around with settings, lenses and such. But I do love using my iphone on a gimbal so am happy to see the ZV-1 on one here! Loved the shot of the lights on the palms...came out so cool!
My M3 isn't charging my Sony ZV 1. I have the correct cable connecting the camera to the M3. I can start and stop recording using the M3, but for some reason, the M3 is not charging the camera. Must be a settings issue? I've tried a couple of different settings, but no luck yet. Suggestions? WE are going to Europe soon and I'd like the gimbal charging the camera so I don't have to change batteries every half hour.
Dude you're the man! Been following you for a minute and I would have to say you're my new found guru and mentor on on photography and videos. Bless you brother 🙏
The Crane M3 - Is totally able to work in full with GH5M2 with smaller lenses - full rotation without removing eyepiece. I use it with both Lumix G85 and the GH5 M2. Works flawlessly.
@@thefilmalliance I’m intending to try filmmaking mostly - travel log & scenic videos centered around where I live (NYC area) and places I can travel to. That’s why a video like this is so very useful to me, in terms of technique.
Hello and happy 2022, as always very brvissimo and very clear. In fact, I was wondering when were you going to review the Crame M3 gimbal? In fact, here it is thanks and thanks again. I also use the wonderful ZV-1 and for a few days the Crame M3, but I still have to practice it. My images are not very stable and I thought it depended on the screen open in the external position, but I see that you use it too, so it cannot depend on him. I am waiting for more videos on the ZV-1 that I love and I really don't think to replace it with the Sony zv-E 10 in my unoriginal judgment. Until next time;)
Fantastic video I enjoyed it! I'm considering buying this M3 but not sure about the Stabilisation, unfortunately, the Sony catalyst is not working for me what do you reckon?
Love the content, super high quality. The only two things that separate you from the top RU-vidrs IMO are lighting and editing. I like the colors and lighting of most other RU-vidrs more. (Please take some notes from Ben Johnson!!) For your quality I think you could be doing so much better with views and subscribers I don't know how you are note bigger, I really hope to see you grow because your content really is amazing.
Thanks Jacob for the honest comment. I appreciate it. Maybe I need to purchase one of those tube lights I see others with in their videos. I will check out that RU-vidr you mentioned and see If I can step up my lighting game. Thanks, thats very nice of you
You said the whole time you had it set to standard stabilization and that you could put it to active but that would make the zv1 punch in and you want as wide of an angle shot as possible. Having any in camera stabilization on makes it punch in. Is the gimbal that bad that it needs the camera stabilization on?
Well done big Joe. Another winner. I bought the M2 because of your earlier videos so probs won’t upgrade just yet. However, I went to buy the Arca Clamp with your link but there are different size options. Which one do we buy? 50mm? I’ve now done quite a bit of vlogging using ZV1/M2/Rode Go mic (not this channel) and the biggest problem I have is filming on sunny days. The background is always overblown if I’m exposed in the picture. On cloudy days the picture quality is just awesome. If you’ve got any ideas on exposure, I’m all ears!
Hi James, sorry about the Arca clamp. I didn’t realize there were different sizes on Amazon. I checked into it and 50mm is the size I have and use. Thanks for the heads up! As far as exposure goes, I experience the same problem and the only work around I could find is getting a more expensive camera with a bigger sensor for better dynamic range. My A7siii does not blow out the background nearly as bad as the ZV-1.
Good video! Next video use the ULANZI VL 49 RGB it's lovely when shooting at night and you could fit in your pocket. You could adjust the brightness it does blind you or lower it and you could change the color. They have a yellowish/white color omg it's beautiful, I highly recommend and it's cheap
I was hoping you can do a video testing the m3 with the shotgun mic and other accessories on top of the cam. My RONIN SC2 is having issues balancing once I start adding my RODE Video micro and Ulanzi VL49 mini LED on top. I got a smallrig cage and a ulanzi fast claw by the way.
Thanks for another great video. You break it down so it’s digestible and easy to follow. I’m looking for a gimbal now so will definitely be checking this one out.
@@thefilmalliance Thanks! I actually decided to not get a gimbal and instead use catalyst browse for gimbal/like footage. I feel the gimbal is just too much of a hassle, and very bulky for smooth vlogging!
The Crane M3 comes with several cables. One is the cable he is using in this video. He says the cable is so the gimbal can charge the camera. I have the same set up and I was hoping the cable attached to the camera would also allow for zooming, starting and stopping the record function and taking pictures. Mine does none of that.
Hello my friend, I have just seen the cable that connects the ZV1 to the Crane. Maybe I should connect it 😂 for what exactly it is there for? what is its function? I tested the crane 3m & my ZV1 on holiday without the cable and it was quite good 😌 best cinematic greetings from germany
After shooting hand held in Saudi Arabia last month I was really thinking I need a gimbal for the ZV-1. This is really steering me towards the M3. Thanks!
Hey Joe I have a question and a comment, great video love the work I did notice near the end of the video you said “ I’m film with Joe Alliance “ 🤣🤣 But I’m looking to buy the Crane M3 but I’m seeing Zhiyun - CRANE 3SE 3-Axis Gimbal with EasySling and wanted to know if that was the same or what’s the difference?
@@DramaTown72Kut Im actually not sure. That gimbal along with the box are in storage because I am in the middle of a move. Im sorry I can't be more help. I have the one that's in the description
I bought the M3 when I had larger cameras (Fuji XE and XT4) and the M3 can carry whatever you can balance on it. Great payload capacity. The ZV1 is hardly an inconvenience!
Can you take pictures (and halfpress focus) with the buttons on the crane (with the zv-1)? Or only start/stop recording video? Also m3 or m2s for zv-1?
Question: Is the cable just for loading the zv1 or is it now possible to use the record button on the crane m3? In my case i dont know how to connect the zv1 with the cable to use record and audio. can you help? i am german.
Hey super interested, when you connect it via cable does it charge the zv1, button on gimbal work for zoom and start/stop recording? I struggle with the horrible battery life of the zv1 and the m2 didn’t work with the zv1 for controls unless you connected the camera to the gimbal via Bluetooth which for me was a deal breaker. I’m hoping the m2s or m3 would fix those lacking features of the m2. Your feedback would be helpful. Cheers!
I have the ZV-1 and that small rig frame like in the video, which adapter i need for the Crane M3? Do i need to recalibrate gimbal everytime if i only have one camera?
BRo am A Subscriber Of You From India Am A Vloger ,is It Zv1 worthy for Vloggers ? Can you Tell About The Modes Which Gives Ultimate Colour Grading And Quality?
Thanks for your incredible videos! I bought the ZV 1 after your advice. The only thing using it now is that battery capacity is very very low. I bought the extra batteries, but each one (including the original) lasts like 30 mins with luck, is that normal?
@@thefilmalliance Sure! I have the older model of the zhiyun but I am willing to purchase the new one if it's easier. maybe also a comparison video on balancing the old vs the new (only if better).
The small sensor of the ZV-1 is sadly really apparent here…the fact that it is unable to, even during the golden hour, to expose the train correctly and at the same not totally overexpose the sky is a no go for me…
@@thefilmalliance I maybe sound very negative, and I if it came out that way, then I’m sorry. I think some of the footages you have done with the ZV-1 are just mindblowingly good, when taking into consideration it’s shot on this tiny little camera(and I would love to see more tutorials on what’s possible with this camera.) I actually heavily consider to buy a ZV-1 for my RU-vid channel, and I also think (like you) that the smaller dynamic range actually forces me to be more creative with the lightsources available. All the best.
