First of all kudos to your wife, she is a talented filmer. I do also use a Osmo 2 with my HTC U11. It works very good for slow things like scale crawlers were you can follow the car on ground level and have very smooth clips. For planes I had problems following them with the Osmo 2 when they pass and the zoom is more or less useless and certainly not as fine tunable as on the Smooth 4. I guess it's comes down to the way you fly and what kind of shots you want to make... the Gimbal will be superb for anything stationary or slower and holding the S7 by hand will surely give you better fast flyby pics but will be a little more shaky in other scenes.
Our thoughts exactly. We're hoping to figure a way to overcome some of these obstacles. We found the times where Megan is walking, her "footsteps" are a LOT less noticeable, but the sharp turns are hard to accomplish with a Smooth 4. Thanks for watching!
1) yes, I do... but to my defense, the black plastic they use is totally indestructible!!! I think it's the same material that they wrap around A1-M1 Abrams tanks...kinetic armor, right??? LOL 2) Yeah, my S5 is old...it's super good for photos, but not so much for video, while my S3 is great for video, despite the obvious lower definition video quality....and Megan's S7 is getting old too ;) I think some people are surprised that we film everything on our cell phones, but until we win the lottery, we will be using our cell phones, and even if we DO win the lottery, we'll have to pay for off all our new debt with the new property first, then we can buy the camera...so if we win the lotto twice, you can expect better camera gear ;) 3) Banggood sent it to me, but we realize Amazon probably also has it. I can only ask you to consider buying it from Banggood, in support of those who support us...but that's totally up to you all ;) I'm just glad to have you watching, an we hope this product helps us to produce a better video. 4) You're welcome, and thanks for watching it! First off congratulations to you both on the purchase of your new land. It will be interesting to follow along with you on the building of your new home and the "flying Field" I'm certain your going to include. I'm not too crazy about your new stabilizing camera mount but I'm hope that in time it works out better and better. I must admit Meagan does an excellent job without it. You know I said this before but I wish you would invest in a lapel microphone so we could capture your comments. I've often had to resort to using a set of Bose Sound deadening headphones to hear you Brian. I find that your quips and comments are the best part of your videos. I'm still a loyal fan and really enjoy your website.
Thanks again for your support. I know several have asked for better audio, and it will eventually happen. I tend to agree with you that Megan does a nice job without the stabilizer, except for when I have her walk to follow me ;) Hopefully I can get some good video editing software and really make some better videos. Very interesting video and the fact that you are not professional videographers is good because neither are (most of) your viewers. So your experience will be our experience. Looking forward to hear what you think of it in the end, especially when you have to swing around in yaw and pitch to follow a plane; will the Smooth 4 improve those shots? Time will tell...
Exactly!!! Glad I'm not being misunderstood here. I'm just a laymen, and want to get better. Hope to share a positive experience, but sometimes that's not the way it ends up ;) I think this thing is pretty high quality...now we just need to learn to use it to extract the most value out of it. We are super excited! Also, I just left a bad review for Horizon Hobby...hopefully to get their attention on their "Pre-Order" games they like to play...I've got new footage coming, but Horizon Hobby is holding up my plans worse then Hobbyking!!! I know that's CRAZY!!! I literally have the box from Hobbyking, sitting in my entryway, with the necessary parts to get my Horizon Hobby order up in the air. Very disappointed with Horizon right now :(
That sucks with HH hopefully they will get their S------T together., Because I know exactly what you mean about Hobbyking. HH is normally good except the PREORDER crap. and the orders usually come pretty quick (except pre-orders) Can't wait to see what you're got going now. When Megan is filming, it's always quality stuff. Just my opinion, Brian, but I'm interested in what you're saying and you frequently get out of range for your voice to record. Just think how nice it would be if you had a lapel mic. Sure glad you got the land sewed up. I know how often that can get mucked up when it's strung out like it was. Time for a sigh of relief! SIGH !!!
I agree Megan was born with two state of the art organic gimbals arms LOL although I must confess I was surprised how well and fast she adjusted to filming with a gimbal, maybe if she has the patience to keep playing with it, maybe it could add something to the filming. At the moment it feels more like giving an electric wheelchair to a healthy Olympic runner. But I must agree with you raymondkoonce, what Brian really needs to improve is audio, but he hates when we said that, so I won't say anything. If he could ban me from seeing his videos, just because I have mentioned the audio problems on some of his video he would LOL
No doubt! We were kinda walking on egg shells for a few weeks there, hoping it would all come together. It's super nice too, since the previous owners have been really cool to us so far. We had to have them plant grass on the back half :( But he's gonna try and help us get the grass to take and knock down the weeds next spring/summer. Sometimes they take the check and run, but we've already run into them once at the land, flying ;), and then had a few points of contact here and there since the closing. Like you said, sigh of relief, now take a deep breath...next up....the house!
